oh and i also hate how comics make everything super nerdy and unreal. like the movies i can deal with. and the original comics i can deal with like spiderman #1 but it all gets stupid when its like; different universes, different versions, weird lame heroes, and stuff like that. i dont know shit about comics all i know is that if i like spiderman, then i go in the comic store and just grap a comic with a pic of him. i dont know about any other sht but thats they r fun to read.

@BEASTSINCEBEGGINING comic books have continuity they need to follow, thats what makes them so interesting. Would you rather have just a lame villian of the week story in every issue.
I hate those ppl who read every god damn comic in the world and always say stupid shit. like lets say for example i said "Wolverine is so beast no one can stop him!" then some one who is a comic fucking know it all would say something stupid like " no, actually destructor destroyer of worlds (1968 version) is extremely powerful and cant be killed. ( i know destructor isnt a real superhero but im just using an example.)
@BEASTSINCEBEGGINING No. That's way way different. You being a fucking moron and saying something as stupid as what you just said and someone saying "you know there's a lot of people who can beat the shit out of him right?" is different then someone being like "well you know in volume 2 issue 36 of wolverine's solo series omega red clearly displayed superior abilities to wolverine" Now if you said what you said only in regards to the movies ok. But ya when your dumb you SHOULD be corrected.
@blowshimselfupdude OK anyone who has a problem with my comment hop off my cock. listen im not saying anyone who reads a comic is a nerd im saying that anyone who has to correct somebody and be annoying all the time is. im sorry if i offended anyone but im just getting sick of it. (this happens everywhere,at school, home, facebook, here.) it just doesnt stop
@BEASTSINCEBEGGINING Then stop saying stupid wrong things. It's not about someone being nitpicky and someone correcting you. It'd be like you saying Darth Vader isn't Luke's father or that the matrix was the first movie to do bullet time. You're wrong and you should expect to be corrected when your wrong.
@blowshimselfupdude I loved the teen titans cartoon and worshipped slade (deathstroke) till like 6th grade. I've been reading a lot of wikis and I bought a Marvel encyclopedia to help me out with some of the characrers. I read a few punisher comics, Infinite Crisis and I just order Deathstroke TT isues 1-3, Identity Crisis and Villains United. I've been on a few comicbook forums and the assumptions people make about characters abilities disguists me.
Though with massive reboot I might give it a shot. On the movies though I do research on the source martial before viewing so I know how well it holds up.

I stopped around when they killed him off, that and comics were getting to dark so I just watched the T.V. Show. Now do to the large continuity and lack of quality Spider-Man comics I find it hard to get back in.
Well, there is wikipedia, internet and other sources. You DO NOT have to read the comics to understand a character completely. The problem with most comic book fans is that they think that the stuff in the comics is the be-all-end-all and is always the correct way to go. And that is totally wrong. Some things in movies and animated series are better than in the comics, like for example Mr. Freeze's origin. He became a major villlain thanks to a TV show, not because of the comics.
Dude, there's a person in my class who constantly points out that I read comics, or as she puts it "kid's magazines". THAT WAS THE 60'S! IT IS 2011! JEEZ!
the problem with me is because people say "MARVEL RULES AND DC SUCKS BUT BATMAN IS COOL" .........and they never read a single a marvel or dc comic before there just basing it of the movies funny part is when I ask someone why marvel is better than dc it usaully goes like this

I hate it when people do that. They think just because they watch some damn cartoon or tv show or watch the movies, that they have intimate knowledge of these characters. I also love it when people actually know the facts, but they still support the positions of people who don't know the facts. My friend actually once was telling me that she thought they should have made the Green Lantern in the upcoming movie black, so naturally I tried to correct her and tell him he was originally white.
I had a conversation at school who said they should have kept Green Lantern black in the film. I told him he was originally white and he told me "I am going along with DC comics and he was black first." My friend told me to drop it because he was too stubborn and it wasn't worth arguing over.

yes I am made fun of among my classmates for reading comics, because , you know, comics in which a man brutaly kills young women and then counts his victems by making notches on his skin is clearly for children
My favorite comment is, "I thought Green Lantern was black." just because John was the main lantern in the League cartoon doesn't mean he's the only one.

Yes I'm bugged by thous people, I kinda fall into that, I read comics, but not a lot, but If I need to know something, I know were to go to find it out, but I had a friend, his aunt, and he was like that, he say that Christopher Nolan has one good movie, The Prestige, and say that Batman and Robin is a better movie then Inception, and to get back on point, Joker is not good if he didn't kill Bruce's parents. There are only to Batman movies (batman begins, dark knight).
what happen to dick grayson as Nightwing did they just forget about him becoming Nightwing and just forget about the place he went to become NightWing.
@Airdemon2100 After he returned, realised that Batman is symbol, not single person. He started thing called "Batman Incorporated" which is supposed to be global organisation of crime-fighterss. Now, Bruce is recruting crimefighters from the whole wolrd¨. Meanwhile, Dick operates as Batman in Gotham.
i'm not a big comic person, but can i ask u a question, during around final crisis and Batman rip, batman has died right and dick grayson becomes the new batman, but Batman will return but not as batman but run i think over the batman family. Heres were my problem comes in, i know they kill and bring back characters in comics alot, but if u kill off batman and bring him batman make Batman rip useless. and on that note bring him back makes no since because dick grayson is already batman so
I have had many many many freinds that act like this..."Spider-Man only has one costume" or "Sandman killed Uncle Ben"? I can't stand when they say these things because after i tell them the truth they go on about the movie bull crap...
YES!!!! I hate these people so much. I know guy, who readed Jokers comic origin and he said "DC version is bullshit, Joker isnt white, he just scared his face ect." You know what was most funny thing? When Joker said two different stories about his scars in the film, he thought that BOTH of these stories were right!
i freaking hate those people who just watch the films, not read comics and bother people who read them. i am really bothered with these people! some of them are my
some of my dipshit friends. they say that ironman is most intelligent person in marvel! HES NOT BRUCE BANNER, REED RICHARDS AND T'CHALLA ARE!! HATE THOSE FAGGOTS
@piccolo56000 Actually I'm pretty sure Tony is. Reed sometimes appears to have an edge but that's because he's constantly dealing with alien/alternite universe technology. He's easily top 3 minds n the marvel universe. Who really is obviously differs from writer to writer.
@piccolo56000 i agree and disagree well 1st off i prefure manga and not that many comics besides that and i dont claim to know about the comics cause i dont besides the main backround but think about it people most promonatly in the u.s. arent realy acceptible to comics and the think that they are kid stuff and when they see the movie they atomaticly think it happens in the comics but that dosnt mean they should talk like they do khnow.
P.s I also have fights with him because he thinks Transformers 1 & 2 is awesome and Michael Bay is Great (sure I can talk to somebody okay intresting why??? But no answer except his Movies are cool) He also thinks Mistique can kick Supermans Butt. And he also gos to Marvel.com or Marvel Universe where Characters have points like Baseball cards thats how he knows why who is better.
Ill be honest I dont have a HUGE knowledge about Comics, sure I have a huge collection of Batman, I love reading the Sin City Books, Peter David´s Hulk,
Watchmen, 300, Hellboy, Superman or Book of Marvel and Book of DC.
But a Friend I have huge Fights with
His Opinion Spiderman 3 was Awesome and people are Idiots because they are bitching around. He Thinks Nolan´s Batman is stoopid becuase its not like
when the watchmen film came out, suddenly it was everybodys favourite comic and they were like oh yeah i read the watchmen way before it was made into a film, everybody had an opinion on how culturally relevant it had been when actually theyd picked it up for £5 in hmv after the trailer came out because magazines talked about it and they put t shirts in overpriced shops
I am one of these people that DOESN'T read the comics BUT I am educated on the cannon from the comics. For example, I know that there were other Robins other than Dick Grayson. That Joker paralysed Barbara Gordon, Gwen Stacy was Spider-Man's GF ect but I am annoyed by people who believe the films are cannon.
Yes. Constantly. I'm tired of people thinking that The movies are exactly like the comics. And then they claim that there hardcore fans of the character. but, they wont read the comics. Its freakin annoying.
I do reviews on movies, some of them comic book adaptations. I usually just review them as films not as adaptations. But if I did talk about the movie in relation to the comic, I'd at least try to look up the information first.
Now I haven't read the comics and I'll admitt that I don't know shit. In fact the only comics I read are manga which are Hellsing, Bleach, and Samuria Deeper Kyo. I have however been meaning to pick up Tri-gun and Vampire Hunter D.
I deal with these kind of people all the time! especially when arguing about daredevil, who is my favorite superhero and I make this known, I was told the other day that bullseye killed jack murdock, needless to say this led to yelling and other unpleasentness.
Stan was actually going to use organic webs at the beginning, but his editor said no. "It's too creepy" is what he told him. He also said "No one will like a Teenager as a Superhero." Man was he wrong.
i think i've said this before, but yes, i am quite bothered by these people, but i've never run into a situation when they weren't conviced they were wrong when i tell them i read comics
EVERYONE at my school, doesnt read comics and they ALL think that ALL of them are for children. they said batman was for 4 year olds. i tried to bring up deadpool, but they didnt listen and said that he was for kids too.
I actually had someone argue Watchmen with me the other day.
We'll call non-comic reader Bob.
We'll call me me.
We'll call my friend who has read it Joe.
Joe and I were discussing Adrian Veidt and whether he was wrong, and it was brought up that he didn't attack Moscow, but rather NYC. We tried to find reason behind this. As we discuss, Bob the genius comes over and laughs at us, saying the point is moot, as Adrian did, in fact, attack both, as well as other cities. We explained that that
I know one of this people, may be the stuped one of them all. The thing that I have fight with her on is theat she thinks A: Joker always fell into a vat of chemicals, and that alfet met Bruce when he was already batman. And the only villian that the hulk has is the army because of the show.
I'm not sure exactly. But that was the original origin given for him. The Killing Joke was a retelling of that story. But the way it's written is that that only possibly happened.
But the other things are stuped andshe also thinks that hulk was green first. Oh and do you now were harry osborn is the hob goblin, because allot of people say the 94 show and he is the green goblin there.
I've never read any Batman comics (for example), and I try to make clear that when I talk to people about a superhero film that I AM a huge superhero fan, but I haven't really read any comics. I agree with your video.
Rick Jones. He's the guy that Bruce saved and then got hit by the gamma rays.
Idk if you read Peter David's intro to the first book. But basicly othe rwriters before him had freed Bruce from the hulk and made Rick Hulk. don't worry it only lasts like 3 issues.
What i hate is the people who say they love Batman but all they know about Batman is from what they understood from the Dark Knight. They've never read a single comic, only have watched one Batman movie but yet they wear Batman shirts and say they are Batman fanatics. It just kills me when i see someone wearing a TDK shirt and yet tey know nothing about Batman.
With all respect to heath ledger...
They just like Heath Ledger! Thats all! Those people make me want to pull my frickin hair out!
My school is full of people like this, and it's because of The Dark Knight, the thing that annoys me is that people who see the dark knight and suddenly LOVE batman go buy batman t-shirts that have nothing to do with the dark knight, you try start a conversation with them thinking they are Batman fans but sadly no, POSERS
It's in the same in video games, believe me when people think that Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy were the first RPG's ever made. They totally disregard D&D or the older games that came on the old computers.
yeah i hate it when people think that they know characters when they dont know anything and this is what my sister does alot because she think that she know batman but has only seen the movies and just know the common knowledge.
I've rewatched the reviews of the batman by James Rolfe (the joke about rocky was hillarious), and he never says that batman never drove a tank. He just said he feels it's "overdone" and "too excessive". I didn't quite understand those statements, I mean, why shouldn't it be excessive? But anyway, you can't critisize him for something he didn't say.
In my own and just my opinion, Films that were based on Books or Comics that were a sucess and good in my eyes are great or decent in my eyes from the Novel were.
Batman Begins & The Dark Knight (Nolan Films do it in a realistic way than the comics but in a respected way for the comics) Moby Dick and The Silence of the Lambs.
Or in every Film Genre they think they know a whole saga, like in the horror for instance the Friday the 13th oder Nightmare on Elm Street Films they just saw one part and think they know everything
But to be honest and Fact these people are every where dosent matter about what genre or meida or books.
Like I watch Wrestling they have no Idea about the history and think they no everything, think its real, think hes crappy because hes not cool like we call these people Marks.
Yes thats another thing I argued about, or in the film The Hulk that the Hulk is emotional andd having a feud with his inner demons and father, well I explain the Origin from the Comics the answer NO, NO, NO.
Or Films wich I thought were Crappy like Catwoman, X Men 3, Spiderman 3, The Hulk, Batman & Robin ansd Batman Forever, when I give my thoughts people call me an ass with no idea.
I've actually had someone tell me Catwoman was good and that it was acurate to the ORIGINAL Catwoman (before Selina Kyle) who was black and had powers..........................no such Catwoman exists.
I know what you mean with these people, for instense some guy wrote he thinks its unfair, that Two Face only becam a Villain because his Girlfriend/Fiancee died (Rachel Dawes). And only saying that because he saw The Dark Knight.
Or the thing with The Juggernaut, in X Men The Last Stand arrguing with me that he is not the Half Brother of Professor X, only because of the Film
I don't like james rolfe anymore anyway. he has lost lots of his credibility since he only uses his "avgn" persona, which lost is edge for a while now anyhow. I loved him when he was new and fresh on youtube, but now... I just can't laugh about his stuff anymore. everything is just so much the same, his humor went dead - in my opinion.
I hate the people who haven't read the comics, love the movies and tell me that "the comics suck." that happened after the dark knight. I was on a board where someone said "the dark knight is epic". I asked him if he ever read a comic. his answer "yeah, I have read 3 or 4 batman comics and in my opinion, batman comics in general suck". yep, right, becaus all thousand existing batman comics are basically the same you stupid piece of shit! gah, I wanted to kill him so badly.
Of course I'm bothered by these people! Especially when they're fans of something that they will defend the source material of (like Lord of the Rings).
I have to defend one of Rolfe's points: The tank was used (as far as I know) only in "the dark knight returns" which is about batman's end. and these movies are about the begining of batman, when he uses his normal batmobile. I guess Rolfe's reason was more like "the burton batmobile is cooler", but there is still a comic related reason they should've made the regular batmobile in the movies. But if there are other stories with the tank(the dark knight strikes again doesn't count), let me know.
Batman used a tank in the graphic novel "The Cult" too. And it doesn't matter how often batman used a tank in the comics, fact is that the tumbler was 100% an hommage on the tank in "dark knight returns". Nolan stated this very often in interview. It's so funny that people criticize the tank, since they basically criticize the film for trying to be faithful to it's source material.
yes I really am bothered by these people, I mean they think they know things because the see the movie? heck I bet a lot of people think that Batman was trained by Ras Al Gul
Well, since I'm not an avid comic reader, (Though I read some comics, but not even close to as many as you) It doesn't bug me all that much. What bugs me more (since I'm a punisher fan and not really a Batman fan) was when War Zone came out and people would fight me to the death saying that Frank's family was killed at a family reunion party in tampa by Howard Saint. that was what got me
Honestly, franchises like Batman and Spiderman have been going on for so long and have been victim of so many retcons, continuity errors because of new writers, and forced continuity changes to tie in with a new movie or TV show that it is entirely possible that "these people" may have read some comics from a different era than you and could be right in their own way. However, it's more likely that they're passingly familiar with something that you're passionate about and just got mixed up.
In class one time these guys said the Spider-man's webbing was organic. I told them that they were wrong and the the fight had got to such a degree that the teacher had to go on wikipedia to stop the fighting
what bugged me the most about the spiderman movies was that Peter killed Ben's killer and when spiderman he can't seem to keep his mask on. Actors get this through your heads face time is for the character of the secret identity not the superhero. Could you possibly think it would look right to have batman pulling off his cowl in the middle of fights constantly?
haha i dont read a lot of comics but i know what you mean. people try to talk like they know what your talking about and then they get it wrong and look stupid.
YES!!

Airdemon2100 1 year ago
@Airdemon2100 After he returned, realised that Batman is symbol, not single person. He started thing called "Batman Incorporated" which is supposed to be global organisation of crime-fighterss. Now, Bruce is recruting crimefighters from the whole wolrd¨. Meanwhile, Dick operates as Batman in Gotham.

bringing him back is useless but not as batman is just stupid.
Airdemon2100 1 year ago
i'm not a big comic person, but can i ask u a question, during around final crisis and Batman rip, batman has died right and dick grayson becomes the new batman, but Batman will return but not as batman but run i think over the batman family. Heres were my problem comes in, i know they kill and bring back characters in comics alot, but if u kill off batman and bring him batman make Batman rip useless. and on that note bring him back makes no since because dick grayson is already batman so
Airdemon2100 1 year ago
I have had many many many freinds that act like this..."Spider-Man only has one costume" or "Sandman killed Uncle Ben"? I can't stand when they say these things because after i tell them the truth they go on about the movie bull crap...

YES!!!! I hate these people so much. I know guy, who readed Jokers comic origin and he said "DC version is bullshit, Joker isnt white, he just scared his face ect." You know what was most funny thing? When Joker said two different stories about his scars in the film, he thought that BOTH of these stories were right!

@piccolo56000 Actually I'm pretty sure Tony is. Reed sometimes appears to have an edge but that's because he's constantly dealing with alien/alternite universe technology. He's easily top 3 minds n the marvel universe. Who really is obviously differs from writer to writer.

But a Friend I have huge Fights with

when the watchmen film came out, suddenly it was everybodys favourite comic and they were like oh yeah i read the watchmen way before it was made into a film, everybody had an opinion on how culturally relevant it had been when actually theyd picked it up for £5 in hmv after the trailer came out because magazines talked about it and they put t shirts in overpriced shops

Iv just gotta a feeling people are just to lazy today getting Novel, Magazine or Comic Book and reading it threw^^

Or in Video Games we call them Noobs.
Or in every Film Genre they think they know a whole saga, like in the horror for instance the Friday the 13th oder Nightmare on Elm Street Films they just saw one part and think they know everything
Y2JFan92 2 years ago
Yeah it happens alot with Stephen King stuff. People asume teh books are 100%acurate and they very rarely are.
blowshimselfupdude 2 years ago
But to be honest and Fact these people are every where dosent matter about what genre or meida or books.
Like I watch Wrestling they have no Idea about the history and think they no everything, think its real, think hes crappy because hes not cool like we call these people Marks.

I only remember 2 issues I use to have from the Catwoman comics that she only had the 9 lives but to be honest I prefur the Human Cat Burglar.
Y2JFan92 2 years ago
Yes thats another thing I argued about, or in the film The Hulk that the Hulk is emotional andd having a feud with his inner demons and father, well I explain the Origin from the Comics the answer NO, NO, NO.
Or Films wich I thought were Crappy like Catwoman, X Men 3, Spiderman 3, The Hulk, Batman & Robin ansd Batman Forever, when I give my thoughts people call me an ass with no idea.
Y2JFan92 2 years ago

I don't like james rolfe anymore anyway. he has lost lots of his credibility since he only uses his "avgn" persona, which lost is edge for a while now anyhow. batpawn 2 years ago
I hate the people who haven't read the comics, love the movies and tell me that "the comics suck." that happened after the dark knight. I was on a board where someone said "the dark knight is epic". I asked him if he ever read a comic. his answer "yeah, I have read 3 or 4 batman comics and in my opinion, batman comics in general suck". yep, right, becaus all thousand existing batman comics are basically the same you stupid piece of shit! gah, I wanted to kill him so badly.
batpawn 2 years ago
Of course I'm bothered by these people! Especially when they're fans of something that they will defend the source material of (like Lord of the Rings).
kometman 2 years ago
I have to defend one of Rolfe's points: The tank was used (as far as I know) only in "the dark knight returns" which is about batman's end. and these movies are about the begining of batman, when he uses his normal batmobile. I guess Rolfe's reason was more like "the burton batmobile is cooler", but there is still a comic related reason they should've made the regular batmobile in the movies. But if there are other stories with the tank(the dark knight strikes again doesn't count), let me know.
amiro47 2 years ago
Not really. But the point stands he has used a tank before. So it's not out of nowhere for him to drive it as Rolfe seemed to make it out to be.
blowshimselfupdude 2 years ago
Batman used a tank in the graphic novel "The Cult" too. And it doesn't matter how often batman used a tank in the comics, fact is that the tumbler was 100% an hommage on the tank in "dark knight returns". Nolan stated this very often in interview. It's so funny that people criticize the tank, since they basically criticize the film for trying to be faithful to it's source material.

However, it's more likely that they're passingly familiar with something that you're passionate about and just got mixed up.

what bugged me the most about the spiderman movies was that Peter killed Ben's killer and when spiderman he can't seem to keep his mask on.
