When I first heard of this cover, I instantly thought (loving the White Stripes in every way) "Oh shit, she better not have f#cked this up...", but honestly this is a fairly decent cover, I was moderately impressed. Sure it's not great, but there have been much worse.
I don't hate Kelly Clarskson, but it bugs me how she gets more mainstream media attention than the White Stripes. I mean seriously, everyone covers this song in concert and Penn State plays it every time they're on offense at football games. Either way, she did a hell of a job with this song. I would actually like to see Jack White play guitar with her singing sort of like what he's doing with a female vocalist in The Dead Weather. Only he's the drummer of the Dead Weather, so this would be new.
Kelly Clarkson is one of the most talented vocalist ever and she did this song justice. She's only one of the only female singers that has the right to sing rock songs because she has the voice for it! Watch other performances, the last high part is so amazing.
i really wish kelly clarkson went the hardrock and metal route, instead of pop... she could have done some KILLER tracks and gotten a much longer career.... : /

I'm in the Road Crew Devision (there are office, road crew, street team, and internet and others im sure). I work show's and make sure swag is being passed out properly and that the posters are on display properly at shows, and then i get to have some one on one time with the bands to see what they do and dont like (most about RRR) and then just general hang time
Well I go to loads of concerts every year, and a lot of the bands I like are on the RRR label. I would talk to the bands, and some how manage to get myself backstage and what not, and then i started talking the people from RRR that were working the shows. One of the 'upper' people from RRR remembered me after a while and told me to apply for Road Crew, and he'd put in a good word. I filled out a huge application and sent it in, and about a month later, I was welcomed on to the team.

@IrelandPunk I think Kelly blew this one out of the box. I love WS's version but how on earth does it defeats the purpose when it's a cover? The purpose of a cover is to put your own mark to the song. And believe me, not everyone can do that. Certainly not as well as Clarkson.
Besides some covers, believe it or not, are better than the original. (Not referring to this video or anything.)

I'm in the Road Crew Devision (there are office, road crew, street team, and internet and others im sure). I work show's and make sure swag is being passed out properly and that the posters are on display properly at shows, and then i get to have some one on one time with the bands to see what they do and dont like (most about RRR) and then just general hang time

Well I go to loads of concerts every year, and a lot of the bands I like are on the RRR label. I would talk to the bands, and some how manage to get myself backstage and what not, and then i started talking the people from RRR that were working the shows. One of the 'upper' people from RRR remembered me after a while and told me to apply for Road Crew, and he'd put in a good word. I filled out a huge application and sent it in, and about a month later, I was welcomed on to the team.
