  • she's awesome

  • ....is this video taken at the Ritz in NYC back in 1983...?

  • That time (1983?) i saw them at the Ritz in New York ....now i dont even want a free Ticket!!

  • Who knows the name of the female singer?

  • go to get it ( torent does exist!)

    a piece of heart!

  • This was at the Metro in Chicago...i was there

  • when i was introduced to this like a month ago my jaw hit the flaw cant belive this is the ministry i love completeley different but amazing in its own right haha so catchey cheers for this upload!!

  • Rock on wempathy

  • @carmangary lol

  • HOT

  • Wow, haven't heard this one with the guest vocalist. Who is the girl singing? She's fantastic.

  • This video is REAR!!!

  • wow, i don't normally like soulful vocals but that singer is amazing. i always loved that single, bought it when it first came out, as well as the album. depeche mode have the same immature attitude to their early material.

  • This is so FANTABULOUS! 'With Sympathy' is oen of my very favourite albums EVER! It's cool that they got this diva in to sing with them. Wasn't expecting it at all! But then again it is a very funky track but wondering why Al isn't singing the verses???

  • GOLD!! thank-you so much for posting this [big hugs!] that vocalist is so awesome.

  • very climatic

  • al rang me up @ wax trax : )

  • J'adore ce titre, superbe souvenir de mes débuts en FM

  • space

  • I have I'm diggin it! Thanks for the footage!! Always wonder about the early shows, I have "with Sympathy" but never seen any live footage, glad I finally got the chance!

  • OMG!!!!

  • Can't people just get along?

Al did this stuff, and its there for people to enjoy or to ignore as they please.

I love Ministry, and I very much like With Sympathy, and the rest of the discography, up to Cover Up.

  • I love it! Uncle All we love you!

  • this may be the coolest thing i have ever seen

  • ahhhh...the old days of Waxx Traxx Records in Chicago........RIP

  • This Is The effing JAm! To bad no real video for it.

or Maybe there is.. Help Al-J or someone!

  • where's Al hiding? i hear him singing(?) but don't see him...come out come out....

  • I'm allways sad when I hear this song because I know that this is a dead decade.

Ministry means so much for the music's evolution.

  • don't get me wrong. i like ministry very much. and yes, they are influential. but they are definitely not very original. they haven't invented anything! all the styles they ever played were there years before ministry adopted them for themselves. new wave was there years before with sympathy. so called industrial was there years before twitch. and the whole crossover thing was there before land of rape... and mind. they are influential but surely not innovative.

  • I think I was very drunk when I wrote this, since I don't remember, so you'll have to excuse me.

But it's still a very funky song and one of my favorites =)

  • no excuses necessary. this is just an exchange of opinions. :)

  • @aeronpanick One thing you should know is al wrote many of the songs for twitch before with sympathy even came out... the record company just didn't want to use them because they were not commercial...

  • So cool...new wave, industrial, and a tad of speed metal...great F-ING outfit

  • I was a little teenager when this stuff was out, and my older brother got Ministry's stuff, and saw them live at this time too, or just before Twitch came out. I still have the LP's and Ep's. So I continued to follow MInistry, right through the metal, and this shit just reminds me of when I was 13.

  • I love both Ministry's the early new wave synth/pop and the industrial/metal styles which evolved.

So where is Al in this live clip? Is he playing bass or guitar? And are the main Al vocals tracked, not live? I see Al is singing over the chorus line at the end.

  • omfg you're kidding. I can't believe footage of this has survived!

  • I really liked the Synthpop sound Ministry played back then. When I heard Twitch (we believe)and the mind is a terrible thing to taste,I questioned whether or not this was the same Ministry that played revenge, because of the sound (obv) and lyrically he doesnt sound British any more ...

  • Stephan George rocked Ministry!

  • shay jones was cute

  • thanks for the post "dox" i own this on cd but not live.the whole thing is great from begining to end.

  • what are you all idiots. Ministry is ONE MAN AL. People have come people have gone Shay is one of them so is keven key its all music get over it some of its good some not al is an artist trying out styls, grow up!

  • cEvin Key was NEVER part pf Ministry. Just like Images In Vogue is NOT Skinny Puppy. Why does everyone on Youtube think that?

  • Um you need to get the live concdert from the Mind is a Terrible thing tour because ther heis singing land of rape and hunny with al and jello beafa. He has toured with Miniestry as well as revolting cocks. It could be the other guy in skinny pupy nivk oger i dont know the gay names confuse me .

  • ajsdnfasd asdkjfna ;sdifuqw HUH?

  • this is AL Jourgensen ....the same person who sung ....REVENGE .... SO WHAT....THIEVES....PSALM 69 ...its not the guy from SP..

  • we know its real ministry. sounds like people been visiting wikipedia to much. point is they still fucking rock

  • If Al isn't embarrassed by the Lay lady lay cover why would this bother him??

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • This IS Ministry, just after getting a small taste of fame.................from one who was there, still giggling......Al must be so embaressed!

  • that's ministry. shae jones sang lead on this song on the album too.

  • Sharon Osborn Jones "Shay Jones" she co-wrote this song as well

  • So cool to see & hear the live version of this song, performed back in the day

  • Sounds like the real Ministry.

  • The real Ministry is all white. The lead singer is a guy.

  • This is the 'real' Ministry, and Al Jourgensen is not white, he is Hispanic (Cuban), but I'm sure such a big Ministry fan you just forgot. Oh yeah, as far as most well know of Ministry's 'real' lineup is Al and Paul. Everyone else were just collaborators or temp lineup and yes a few of them were black. Happy to disappoint some of you haha.

  • @cloroxaddiction good one bro

  • @cloroxaddiction It's quite possibly the original writer of this track. Living in Chicago, I have met more than a few people not happy with Al but a month or so ago I met a black lady out one night and she mentioned that she was not happy because I took a song from her in the early 80's and never paid her for them. Said it was "I Wanted to Tell Her" and sung a few bars that jogged my memory of this song, and now I see this video. Go figure!

  • Is this Ministry or a group covering them? :/

  • This is a cover.

  • This is REALLY old Ministry. If you look under Ministry - so-so life it's the same concert that this video was taken from. and it shows Al as the singer (he's also one of the guitarist in this song) . Ministry's first albums were synth-pop. This is taken from "With Sympathy"

  • no thas AL on stage in 1983 i sure u check this out by now but i had to put my 2 cents in .... i was surprised when he came out with TWITCH...and THE MIND IS A TERRIBLE Y

  • ^^oye Danceteeria RIP. :( did I just give away my age. LOL

  • the "With Sympathy " album WAS THE 80's, Danceteria!

  • one of the best songs of the 80's. this one was very popular in the clubs in Argentina. xx
