  • MEH.

  • "I am very skilled with power tools! there will be minimal blood loss"-- lol!

    but what's a "sistoli" mean?

  • @benhsu Asystole is when there is no pulse or pulse activity

  • @benhsu I think it's meant to be 'Asystole' Which basically means that the patient has flat-lined (their heart has stopped)

  • @benhsu

    Asystole is no heart beat!

  • Yo sou cirujano ortopedista, y no somos tan insidiosos. Y los anestesiologos los pintan tan buenos...., y su periódico y su café donde estan?

  • My dad's an Orthopod. I showed him the video and he loved it. His response was, "I don't know what the complaint is. The Anaesthetist is clearly being lazy!" Pure genius, both his comment and this cartoon.

  • xaxaxaxaxaxaxax

    xaxaxaxaxa!!!

    "please go away"??? xaxaxa, perfect!!!!

  • That just to show that most surgeons are tunnel-vision and only care about themselves. Nothing else matters.

  • my dad is a surgical nurse and when he showed me this i couldnt stop laughing from the moment he said she has "Asistoli"

  • " you know...your right, there is not much blood loss, when there is no freaking cardio output."

    I lol'd.

  • asystole!!! omg ... I was crying! I know of this one ortho doc. I have fractured my knee cap two frikkin times...he does nothing except tell me to lose weight and 100 leg lifts every hour. I am nervous to go back to him....but he was on call last week when I dislocated my knee cap. I have suffered through the pain so I can avoid him. It's a luxating patella anyhow. First time in 10 years it went out.

  • This is sooooo damn true!!!!!! Very very funny. ' She has a condition I have not seen before...asystole'...LOL..there will be minimal blood loss!

  • This is sooooo damn true!!!!!! Very very funny. ' She has a condition I have not seen before...asystoley'...LOL

  • She is otherwise well...........hahahaha

  • I'm an orthopedic surgeon, and I bust into laughs after seeing this hahahaha

  • @Xamilo So you you can do a Craniotomy since the skull is a bone right? ^^

  • @SuperWarking Why would I want to do a craniotomy? That's a task for Neurosurgery not for Orthopaedia.

  • @Xamilo2 Yes I know....I was being sarcastic :)

  • office politics as they say. im new to xtranormal and have tried my hand at a few skethses one looking at the wedding of prince william and few others

  • It's hilarious, but the sad thing is...is that it is true. My mom has been an anestiolgist(spelling fail. Don't even ask.) for over 30 years, and she almost died lauging when I showed her this.

  • i need to punch a brick wall.

if you break your hand, i can fix it for you.

    lol!

  • i need to book a case whats the sory.. there is a fracture i need to fix it....... there is a fracture i need to fix it.. can you tell me more....... there is a fracture i need to fix it. who does the fracture belong to?......... a bone. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i can't believe its the same the world over.. ortho's are so frustrating!!!

  • Only a 2nd year, so I really didn't understand. But the asystole part was hilarious

  • @Lorabells.....I am sure you have. I can't argue with that. But to have the AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) claim that ALL CRNA's are equal/superior to physician anesthesiologists.....thats just sloppy...and only shows they care nothing about quality health care for the American public.

  • regarding CRNA's vs Anesthesiologist: I am a nurse in a specialty area. I have worked with both CRNAs and Anesthesiologists. I've seen very bright CRNAs that are far better than some docs. Just because there is an MD at the end doesn't guarantee they are better. It goes both ways.. Nothing personal, just saying.

  • Any CRNA that claims equivalence to physician anesthesiologists is a very dangerous person whom I would avoid at all costs. There will never be a study comparing doctors and nurses. Such a study would be dangerous and immoral. And no, the "studies" the AANA put out are not credible and are pure propoganda. Patients beware, anytime you go for surgery make sure a PHYSICIAN is involved in your anesthetic care!

  • i dont understand this.

  • @NinaVanPersie you are obviously not in the medical field -- if you were, you would find this hilarious !

  • @carfan2k2 well im actually a medical student but only in the 2nd year .. :P

  • @NinaVanPersie lol - wait til rotations, it'll click in then.. if you remember this video by that time haha

  • hahahaha! this is fantastic.

  • I think I just burst my spleen.

  • this is typically for modern medical practise, the Patient suffers from a FRACTURE and it has to be fixed but no one cares about this vital fact! god bless this extraordinariely courageous and intelligent surgeon from the orthopedia department.^^

Forget CPR which helps in only 10 % of cases go and fix this goddamn frac. xD

  • hahaha . i am an orthopaedic consultant. this is happens very often!!

    hahahaah so its quite true

  • There is a fracture, I need to fix it !

  • Definition of an holistsic orthopaedic surgeon - one who considers the whole bone and not just the fracture! :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • so freaking funny...just made my day!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • the fracture belongs to a bone... ROTFL!!!

  • LOVE.

    Tell me more.

.........There is a fracture. I need to fix it.

  • cool...this is hw it usually goes

  • omg this is hilarious

  • oh my gosh, i could not stop laughing.

  • oh man!!! i'm smiling throughout this entire video, but it's not until the mention of asystole and the cursing begins that i completely lose it! freaking hilarious!

  • nerds

  • @bigsiva nerds that save lives = P

  • I NEED TO FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have watched the twice and laughed so hard I cry. So, funny yet so true.

  • Un día de guardia normal en el ISSSTE

  • Orthopods are definitely the dumbest out of the surgical species. But there are plenty of surgical specialities where the surgeon is smarter than the anaesthetist e.g. ENT, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery

  • I hear from nurse anesthetists that anesthesiologists are massively over-trained. Nurse anesthetists apparently provide the same quality of care at half the price and with much less education. Is this true?

  • @CambridgeHeights Well, if you needed surgery, who would you rather have taking care of you?

  • @Peanuty468 I'd rather have the one that provides better care. If they both provide equal care, based on proper care based on statistical evidence, then I would prefer the one that is cheaper.

  • @CambridgeHeights Saving healthcare dollars is always a good thing. In most settings, several anesthetists work under anesthesiologist supervision. Ultimately it depends on what kind of procedure you're having and what your risks are. If it's a common, low risk procedure, then certainly a nurse anesthetist would be appropriate. If you're having cardiac surgery, you need a well-train doctor. Having worked with anesthetists, I know that the depth of their knowledge is sometimes lacking.

  • @Peanuty468 I've talked with CRNAs and they say that they provide an equal quality of care to that of anesthesiologists, even with the most complex cases. They claim that they have empirical evidence to back up that claim. Do you have any evidence that Anesthesiologists provide better care than CRNAs in risky cases?

  • @CambridgeHeights While they can provide a range of services which Anesthetists also perform, it has been shown that Nurse-Anesthetists do not save any money because you still have to pay for a physician to be on-call for those just-in-case moments when a case goes in a direction that is beyond the Nurse's scope of practice.

When you think about it from that perspective, it doesn't look like your saving any money or being more efficient.

  • @MsNannerz That doesn't make sense to me. You could hire 10 CRNA's at 150K each plus one MD at 300K for those "just-in-case" moments for a total price of 1.8 Million. Or you could hire ten MD's at 300K for a price of 3 Million. Clearly it's cheaper to hire the CRNAs.

  • funny!!

  • "you know what, you're right. there is not much blood loss when there is no frickin cardiac output" ROFL!

  • Utterly hilarious !!!! Love it!!

  • There will be minimal blood loss...

    bahahaha

  • Classic and still the best. All in good fun.

  • The fracture is in the Emergency department...the fracture belongs to a bone...ROFL

  • "She has a condition I have not seen before . . . asystole !" LOL

  • just because your in the medical field and you get the related jargon doesn't mean it's funny. It's really rather bland. Having the animations in medical character would have made it much better.

  • @ducatidave5 No, it's funny because it's a big inside joke...knowing the personalities and the medical jargon is what makes it funny, it's not meant to be funny for the general public.

  • Made my day. Thank you!

  • LOL ... that means she is dead...

  • But very true regardless. Assist olee

  • This video is really funny....not atypical of ortho but I feel bad to single them out..."I will fix it"....These videos pushed me to make my own about a disability seeker in the psychiatric office....won't post the link as that is not respectful of the original poster but you can click on my profile if you are interested...

    Thanks for making this one!!

  • "i need go and punch a brick wall.

"If your hand breaks, I will fix it for you

    HAHAHA, ROFL

  • Not very good at SBAR is her? :-/ I have come across many doctors like this, nightmare.

  • I am gonna tell people now that I am the "registrar of orthopedia." LOL

  • OMG Too funny!

  • Can this orthopod replace the lung I coughed up while LMAO?

  • There is a fracture. I need to fix it.

    Where is the fracture?

The fracture is in the emergency department. I need to fix it.

Who does the fracture belong to?

The fracture belongs to a bone. The bone is a femur.

  • Orthopedics!!!

  • пипец!!!!! это не только у нас так, оказывается!!!!

    - у кого перелом?

    - перелом у кости!

  • Loves this very much !!!! Very funny.

  • brilliant

  • I would think this is funny if I hadn't lived through it so many times. Orthopods can be a little narrow in their focus.

  • Classic Mindset match up: A backwards"Mesiah Complex" Vs. The Loyal and Dedicated Professional. Until?

  • OMG!!! Like CPR!!!!! I can't breathe I am laughing sooooo hard!!!!

  • Excellent!

  • Remember, the orthopods most likely graduated ahead of you (anesthesia folks) in medical school. ;-)

  • @jjbrooksmd

    and derms beat everyone....

  • "You know what? You're right. There is no blood loss when there is no freaking cardiac output." XDDD

  • If you break your hand, i will fix it....classic.

  • fabulous!!

  • Just the other day, the orthopod called me an obstructionist.

  • a good response from orthopedist

search for orthopaedics vs anasthesia "the revenge"

  • OMG!!! SHE'S DEAD!!!

  • I have worked with a lot of ortho MD's in the past 12 years. There are defintely a few like this out there. They can only focus on the fracture- not the pt, the name,or other important details... Too funny, I laugh loudly every time I rewatch it. THX

  • @snoopyclk

hi. what do u work in? I want to become a surgeon

  • This made me laugh to tears! I love it! I can think of a certain doctor at our place like this! XD

  • I laughed so hard I began to cry. I had to do it quietly as to not disturb the patient in the OR Suite that was under spinal anesthesia undergoing orthopedic surgery. The anesthesiologist shared this on his I-phone. :)

  • The great Ben Felson used to say, an ortho resident is strong as an ox and twice as smart

  • that was the worst peice of crap i have ever seen

  • @littshepkid

its cos you don't get the stereotypes of medical specialties. Ortho's are stereotyped to be single-minded glorified mechanics who only think about the fracture. Anaethetists are stereotyped as a pain in the a** who make life difficult because they wana make sure the patient is in perfect condition for surgery.

Asystole is a just a medical way of saying no heart beat. temperature of 29 degrees is just ridiculous...hell anything below 36 degrees is a big worry.

  • shit big words

  • I bet it was a nurse who had to tell him to stop doing CPR.

  • LMAO!!! Having worked almost a decade in the OR, mostly with orthopedics, this video is absolutely hilarious!! One thing that is wrong though is the orthopod having never seen asystole. They know that one typically. It is all the other squiggly lines tthat can occur. We used to tease our ortho residents about that all the time. There are many nights I wanted to go and punch a brick wall trying to find out who and where the patient was that needed their fracture fixed.lol

  • How did that orthopod get through residency??? He makes my head hurt!

  • This appeals to my warped sense of humor or maybe I can just relate since I've dealt with many-a orthopods in my day. :)

  • Fantastic!

  • LOL!!!! I feel like I'm at work! This is hilarious.

  • This is the funniest xtranormal cartoon I have seen to date. It beats the iPhone 4 one... Check out my Obama Zombies cartoon by clicking my name. NSFW though...

  • Love this lol I get this and im only 14

  • Loved it. Everyone has different priorities. I wonder what the fracture healing time is in an an asystolic patient ?

  • I love this, doing surgery on a dead patient.. she is in asystole..lol yep sounds like someone has a house payment or needs a new car.... go figure...btw.. asystole, is when someone has no heart beat.. basically they are dead...

  • The blue bear is an Orthopedic surgeon and the other is an anesthesiologist.

its a joke about how task oriented surgeons are, they have tunnel vision about patients, and dont think about the whole picture such as the patient being Asistole (which means dead)

the anethstesiologist has to see the whole picture instead of just what is going on with their specialty such as a broken bone.

You have to be in the medical field to get it

  • You certainly seem to have a good understanding of some things.

    Is your first name Pip?

  • freakin awesome

  • Anyone who works in the OR will LOVE this!!

  • this is soooo funny :D

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • This is the so funny and soooo true

  • Art imitating life .....OMG this is so funny, been there, done that!

  • this video is better understood if you are in the medical field. if not you will not understand it .

  • @SuperAlik2010 lol of course you wouldn't know, you idiot.

  • It's slightly over the top, but not by much..you should see some of the sick patients they try to operate on..plus the residents never give you all the important info..you have to pry it out of them. As a charge nurse in the OR, I've had conversations similar to this.

  • You really have to have a medical background to appreciate this. I'm

LMFAO!!! 10 years OR nursing, this is "spot on!"

  • ROFLMAO!!! oh my gawd this is so freaking FUNNY!!!!!!

  • that is exatly how it works. dr's allways bring me dead people to fix there bones. bipolar hip on a 102 year old. wtf.really.

  • Well, it is an exaggeration. At least a little bit.

  • Funny!

  • ROFLMAO omg that's way to funny

  • CUM C MY AWESOME VIDS!

  • Everybody knows you can fix the GOD DAM FRACTURE

  • This is the most funny thing I've ever seen!!! XD

  • brilliant

  • As an ortho scrub nurse, my smile is hidden by the mask. Shame the tears of laughter gave my amusement away. Nicely done :)

  • @SuperAlik2010, a video that doctors and only doctors will understand.

  • Funniest. Video. Ever. Tears are still streaming down my face.

  • They just need to make one for CV now!!

  • You have to work in surgery to get the full laugh.

    Friggin hilarious.

  • Haha awesome.

  • did a case with this orthopod tonight!!! too funny.

  • This is so frickin' funny!! If u work in a hospital or are in a medical field it makes more sense for those below who don't get it...

  • if you liked this, check out Asole, The Surgeon: Part 1

  • her temperature is 29 degrees (Celsius) and her pH is 6.8...... and a condition I have not seen before: asystole..... there will be minimal blood loss...... LMAO!!!!
