I got this phone as my first phone.I got over 2 years before I just dropped it in water today while fishing; the phone still works.I have recently purchased the pantech laser and I'm using the matrix in the mean time.I have slightly large fingers and I find everything about this phone great.I can reach all of the buttons and find nothing wrong with the size.The only bad thing is because of the dual-slide feature the vibration is very loud and hevey so it vibrated out of my pocket while fishing.

I have this phone and its seriously the worst phone I've gotten in my life. It randomly restarts when you least expect it, the battery only lasts a day, if you text a lot then it will shut off on you in the middle of the message. The 90's Nokia phone is better than this. Seriously. I am REALLY warning you not to EVER get this phone. As a matter of fact I think that they stopped selling it since it had so many problems.
I have this phone right now and I LOVE it!!! It's great for Texting and soo much fun(: the only thing I don't like about it is when I charge it over night, in the morning It's like really dark and I have to restart it for the light to come back:/ but I luvvv it anyways!!:D

I didn't really like the button interface at the bottom. I hated that you couldn't use shortened mp3s to set as ringtones. The vibrate on this damn thing is so loud and powerful it will wake me up in the dead of night. The web browsing was terrible on this. I didn't use half the applications on it cause they didn't really do much. There were many times when I just wanted to take this phone and throw it against a wall.

(which i like better) but the only thing i liked about the phone was the qwerty keyboard, it might seem tight at the top and hard to text with but its not at all. and another thing, the vibrating on this is LOUD, its louder than if i had the volume on.

Please help. My qwerty board broke. When i slide up the standard number pad it lights up and works. But when i slide up the qwerty part the screen doesnt sense it and it wont let me text with it and the keyboard itself doesnt light up. Anybody know how to fix it?

ok i've had this phone for about 6 or 7 months and it's the worst phone i've ever bought and i do not recomend this to anyone. first off it's way to thick and it really bulky in your pocket. also when i get a message with auido i have to open the message a few times for the audio to play. and it is way to easy to press the middle button and go to internet, it stinks cause if you many people dont go on the internet on their phones cause it costs money. also when i play audio on my phone sometimes
@SBallGurll it'll just end the audio for no reason. the keys are way to small and you have to use your finger nail to type, and if you dont have a long nail it hurts to type. and when you're sending a text message to a lot of your friends you can only send it to 10 people.
i hate this phone too but guess what... its has survived 3 different times of water damage and about 7 times dropping it. even my friends brother chucked on the ground...i hate him..anyways this phone is indestructible
i hate this phone..but its been soo good to me!!! i suggest this if you want a phone that can be damaged and still work get this one! ive dropped it about 100 times.(Not lying) its been COVERED in yogurt, dropped in sand, etc., and lastly the deepend of a pool and remaining in that water for 2 minutes because it was hard to get. AND IT STILL WORKS!!! very durable.....but you tend to grow out of it. :(

actually you can turn off the key tone without putting it on vibrate to settings>profiles>any profile you want>then hit left soft key for options>customize>scroll down to key volume anx change from highest to silent

I lvoe it but I agree with the buttons being too small, but I've got small fingers and they fit me pretty well. And there's some features lacking that bother me too. Namely not being able to turn off the key tone without putting it on silent, and not being able to customise my message tone.
My opinion is don't get it. I had it for maybe 5-6 months, the keys are very unstable, the sliding part of the phone often sticks, and it is very glitchy, i'm thinking about getting the pantech impact, but it may lead to the same thing as this phone die to they are both pantech
@JustAudrey11 Well ive had mine a year and send out about 120texts per day and its doing just what i bought it for it doesnt glitch it can be used as a mp3 player and messaging if peopel actually use it for what its intended for (to send texts) they would see it it a great phone.
I have this phone. After a year of usage the screen has broken off and is just barley hanging on. Be careful with it! Good for texting though. I'll be getting the Xenon this week
@Sortudinho Be careful with it? this phone is frickin waterproof and to test it ive dropped it in coke and it works fine. I also droppedi t off a 3 story building( don't ask) and theres not a single scatch on it its big but its big for a reason its durable
i went to the store to pick out what color i wanted it i got the light blue i tried it out the keyboard was awesome but the key pad was kinda hard to press because it's flat but you will get used to it i would recomend this phone to any teen who likes to text just like me :)

That's what I think too, but is the Xenon's touch screen really durable? My parents do the two year contract thing, and I don't want it to break after a couple months.
I'd go for the Xenon. I have the Xenon, and it works amazing. My friend has the Matrix (this phone) and she's always is having problems with it. Hope this helped!
I'm having a problem with trying to get into my AIM screen. I tried a master reset and turning my power on. Now I'm not sure what to do. The AIM screen seems frozen at the AT&T AIM startup mode. Any help would be great,.. :)
i hate this phone. i have it. today i was sending multimedia messages. it was working. 2 minutes later, i decided to send another. all of the sudden i cant. i tryed resending it like 30 times, even making new ones. nothing works. i just get the message "message sending unnsuccesful, will try later".
I had the same problem what you have to do is go to settings then reset. Put in the password. The default password is usually 1111, 0000, or 1234. Then go to master reset and that fixed the problem. MMS randomly not working seems to be a common problem on the matrix but just do that and it's all good.

Thats not true. LOL. Poor people dont get the matrix. The impression can be bought very cheaply now as well.($75 or less) Some people just want a phone to make calls and do some light texting. Not a flashy piece of tech that they probably wont use much anyways. Not everyone is attached to their phone like teenagers. Back 15 or so years a cellphone was a status symbol, that is no longer true.
everyone says the lg neon sucks ass. They say it freezes up too much, to small screen..etc. So i chose the Matrix. MUCH MORE BETTER! This phone can do everything up to sending picture messages, a gps feature, all that matrix goodness.
Oh Im sorry. Yeah its tough being 14 and not able to make the big purchases. Soon though you will be able to get a job. At least your mom let you get a phone. If they had cell phones when I was 14 I highly doubt my parents would have gotten me one.lol

Hey,I also have the Pantech Matrix and to change the message tone you have to do this,
menu,settings,profiles,normal,profiles,options,customize and messgae sound u can chosse it and change the volume on the buttons.

This is a cool phone
i've wanted it for 2yrs
finally for christmas im gonna get it :)
i went to the store to pick out what color i wanted it i got the light blue i tried it out the keyboard was awesome but the key pad was kinda hard to press because it's flat but you will get used to it i would recomend this phone to any teen who likes to text just like me :)

That's what I think too, but is the Xenon's touch screen really durable? My parents do the two year contract thing, and I don't want it to break after a couple months.

no. it's totally fine...
ive dropped my phone a couple of times and it seems to work fine.
you could get a warranty if youre that worried.

I'd go for the Xenon. I have the Xenon, and it works amazing. My friend has the Matrix (this phone) and she's always is having problems with it. Hope this helped!

I'm having a problem with trying to get into my AIM screen. I tried a master reset and turning my power on. Now I'm not sure what to do. The AIM screen seems frozen at the AT&T AIM startup mode. Any help would be great,.. :)

i hate this phone. i have it. today i was sending multimedia messages. it was working. 2 minutes later, i decided to send another. all of the sudden i cant. i tryed resending it like 30 times, even making new ones. nothing works. i just get the message "message sending unnsuccesful, will try later".

I had the same problem what you have to do is go to settings then reset. Put in the password. The default password is usually 1111, 0000, or 1234. Then go to master reset and that fixed the problem. MMS randomly not working seems to be a common problem on the matrix but just do that and it's all good.

don't get the iphone it gets old after a while ive had the 3g for almost 2 years and sometimes it wont send texts and i have to reset it and a ton of stuff

neon is HORRIBLE!!! IT wont call people if you try it freezes and you cant here a thing i have had to get a replacement 5 times since june and finally getting dif phone hopefully this will be the one i get i herd it was awesome!

Thats not true. LOL. Poor people dont get the matrix. The impression can be bought very cheaply now as well.($75 or less) Some people just want a phone to make calls and do some light texting. Not a flashy piece of tech that they probably wont use much anyways. Not everyone is attached to their phone like teenagers. Back 15 or so years a cellphone was a status symbol, that is no longer true.

everyone says the lg neon sucks ass. They say it freezes up too much, to small screen..etc. So i chose the Matrix. MUCH MORE BETTER! This phone can do everything up to sending picture messages, a gps feature, all that matrix goodness.
