Actually China first acquired Xinjiang during the Han Dynasty from 206 BC - AD 220 then later during the Tang Dynasty from the 620s. It became it's own independent empire during the 800-900s but became part of the mongol empire. It then was incorporated into Qing Empire during 1655 invasion. So please learn history and don't give me the crap about it becoming part of China in 1949.

Actually China first acquired Xinjiang during the Han Dynasty from 206 BC - AD 220 then later during the Tang Dynasty from the 620s. It became it's own independent empire during the 800-900s but became part of the mongol empire. It then was incorporated into Qing Empire during 1655 invasion. So please learn history and don't give me the crap about it becoming part of China in 1949.

I just read the conclusion part of that paper. Their finding is like what you said. BUT, I have to say this evidence can't prove the point that Uighors have been living in Xinjiang 2500 years ago. This intermingle between white and asian could go on in any place in Mid asia.

but what is your conclusion? the region wasn't in the chinese records until 200bc in which they recall the region being completely alien to them, they also mention about people with light hair and light eyes, unlike their own...the region was inhabited by the european tocharians who migrated to the region from europe few melleniums before common era...before them the region wasn't inhabited except from the northern part where the original pre turkic-hunnic tribes lived...

sorry, but didnt you read my what ive wrote? the asian population of the far north of the region were pre hunnic tribes,they were nomads, europeans migrated there and were the fist to settle in there, and the ancestors of the modern Uighurs are both original inhabitans of the region, those asian pre turkic tribes had nothing to do with the han chinese, modern Uighurs are the original owners/inhabitans of the land and no other nationality or tribe can possibly have more right to claim it.

Where did I say they were? And India was a very unique example in which many factors "allowed" a "non-violent" movement (imagine Gandhi trying what he did in Nazi Germany for example)- though there were many acts and events of violence - even more so during the events in South Africa in the 90's.

But that doesn't change the fact that they were considered terrorists and/or rebels by the British government. Many of the effective techniques used in the war were learned from Native Americans and while there were large battles (the army led by Washington) these were usually lost - the guerrilla tactics were far more effective.
We continued borrowing from the Iroquois when we formed our government: it has more in common with the Iroquois League than with Greek Democracy.
