When he said it was resource intensive, he was understating the problem, to make a hallway the same length as he did (6 blocks long) you would need a total of 12 lava, 60 redstone torches, 60 iron, 180 wooden planks, 240 cobblestone, 91 stone, 48 slime and 194 redstone. That doesn't account for the blocks used to make the hallway (i.e. walls, roof etc.) it also doesn't account for the resources needed to gather these resources, so... yeah...

You could do this in a mine and put a redstone torch on the other side of a ore. Then when someone mines it, it will activate the hallway lava trap sending them in to a fiery doom.

@blairbrannan sandstone is great for concept/tutorial worlds. if it was dirt/grass mobs would continually spawn. if it was stone your inventory will clog up with cobble, and sandstone is relatively quick to mine, therefore sandstone is the block of choice !

I did my hallway 100 blocks and when you add the redstone at 8:10, i do the same but the redstone cant reach the end. Anyone help?

As for zombes modpack fly mod; noclip is not compatible with singleplayer commands, noclip will not work with either of them. But if you dont use singleplayer commands (i do, and just stopped using fly mod and used singleplayer commands noclip and fly command) then you are good to go. Also, singleplayer commands has a give (i) command that you can use.

Just thought i would say if you hold shift and click on a tool in toomanyitems it makes it unlimited. the gold pick mines sandstone quicker than diamond does.

can't you make the pistons at the top sticky pistons and one block higher, and add sandstone to those pistons so that when the water or lava is being blocked, the cieling is not made out of pistons?

I have a suggestion to make it less resource intensive.... slightly - instead of using stuck pistons, use normal pistons one block closer, so instead of pushing a block out, the piston extends to remove the lava/water instead - saves having to find slimes, which I have found impossible to do legit....

Is it possible to make a lava hallway, that you walk into the lava, but take no damage whatsoever? Like water falls immediately after you walk past or something. Seems like something that would be nice to build ;D.

@DeadOathCF it will depend of how you do it, you could do the same but only the first and last vertical layers have lava and then, the middle layers would have water. With this you wont take damage unless the distance in the lava and water is too large, but if you have a distance of 1/2 blocks it will work!

@killer24norway if you use MCEdit you can do this! with MCEdit you select the area and then you go to the bar and select the option fill. that will open a small page which is used to select the material to full (you can fill it with ALL the materials).
