I do sometimes, when I want a little more sport to it or I'm in a tree blind. On the ground though, I find it's tough to get close enough to be very effective with a rifled slug (I don't own a slug barrel). When you're on the ground it's best to have something you can really reach out far and "touch" a pig with, and preferably semi-auto. Mini-14, mini-30, AR, something along those lines.
Slugs are fun though and a lot cheaper than buying a new rifle, no question.

If you want to shot big game in Sweden ( bear, pig, moose, wolf) You need as smallest 6.5x55 with 9.1 gram bullet and minimum 2500 joul 100m from the guns end. Sorry about my english! =P Haha. The swedish hunting rules is verry hard! There is one scripts and shooting test for big game and another for small game.
