In actuality if the creator of the db series didn't have the whole big storyline with super buu, and the absorptions, and kid buu it really would have been fat buu who would have won the fight. Besides fat buu could take so many hits from ssj3 goku and yet he couldn't hold his own agaist they grey one........ I'm pretty sure that he was worn out from releasing his dark side and that's why he lost.
