Ported box is for more output and you would need a bigger box compared to a sealed box that would be way more accurate so it would sound cleaner. So if you are playin a song with lots of quick beats you would be able to here each different note better. You gain quality and lose a little output in other words. The difference wont be that much at all. The sealed box sucks the cone back into the box as compared to free flowin air out of a ported box. If you know what i mean. Personnaly like sealed.

I think it depends on the subs my memphis 12s sounds way better in a ported box than they did in a sealed box But its personal preference

Different subs sound better in certain boxes. its usually better to use a box recommeneded by the manufacturer. If i was given a choice between ported and sealed then i would probably take sealed. But if you are given an option then it would be personal preference and how much room you have

My advice would be to go JL my man. Ur gonna spend about the same price on subs and amps, and personally JL is louder and has much better SQ. I had 2 12 M3's at one time so trust me. My one 13W6 pushes about the same watts, but sounds SOOOO much better.

Yeah well the 12 M3 costs about 260 each. The 13W6 is plenty of power for about 570 in the stores, cheaper if you buy on ebay or used from somewhere else. The amp for memphis I had was the 1100/1 i believe, and it ran me about 500. Just letting you so you can make a good decision :)
