You are exactly right bamaqueen. he only had 40 yards against auburn last year and a couple of other less than 100 yard games. Good but not heisman worthy....too much ESPN hype i guess. Ingram is a good back but wasnt even the best in the conference the year he won it. foul play involved i guess. to truly see a back, look up a guy buy the name of Bo Jackson or Barry Sanders. My opinion on the SEC is the fact that Alabama and Auburn are the two best teams overall in the West. Arkansas is good too but mainly offensive wise. I think it comes down to Iron Bowl weekend and hopefully Bama will win again but best of luck and may the best team win.

I know the Mississippi State ones are laughable, Minnesota was pretty much a unanimous choice for 1940 and '41. Miami (FL) was voted #1 at the end of 1983 in both polls, and don't even give Auburn 2004. If anything, it goes to Oklahoma, because they actually played for the NC.

So, if we really want to quibble, Bammer only has TWO real national championships. BTW, the 1941 so-called "National Championship" team was destroyed by THE Mississippi State University. Then Bama went out to USC the next year with a fully integrated team and beat USC 17-10. There's a quote about The Bear that went something like "He'll take what he has and beat your team with it. Then he'll take what you have and beat you with it."

They whipped our ass 42-21, it was the first game The Bear lost that he reportedly cracked a smile at the end, and with that the southeast integrated soon afterwards.
