@americangirlballet They used footage from several of her movies. I think the first one is Stand Up and Cheer, and the second one is Curly Top. They just used a little girl in a curly wig in the sleeping scenes.
This film is a complete and total masterpiece. It is funny, heartwarming, well directed, superbly acted and has a great message. Most of all it is entertaining.
@Phalces her last film at Fox and I was totally entertained by this film- there will never be another like her - The mold is broken - we are fortunate to have seen such a talent in such a small package - Children and adults alike were awed by her talent!
The footage comes from 'Curly Top', an earlier film of Shirley's from 1935, when she was only 6 years old! It's a great film and u should watch it, u wood like it.
The footage also comes from 1934 Stand Up and Cheer with James Dunn. Of course, the little girl he carries out in the beginning of the song isn't Shirley. If you look closely, you can see the other dancers behind Shirley in the old footage, whereas in the new, they are painted on the curtain behind them.
