Cziffra was held back from achieving his complete talent, by the pressures of concert touring. He had to practice with a silent piano to keep his hands strong, and that took up most of his time that otherwise he could have spent, like Lizst, improvising sweet original stuff. Cziffra's improvisations were those of an athlete not a musician. I'm surprised I can't find him on the youtube playing circus gallop. He would have done it mighty fine.
@TripleRhu lol u know what i do. I have an application called skitch on my macbook that takes pictures of your screen. I just take pictures of every page (u can crop it) and make a powerpoint and voila free score!
I swear at the beginning i was like "oh wow a song he did that i might wanna play" and then it hit me that i only have so long until he goes all cziffra on me! got me totally by surprise
@tomekkobialka Love you're comments in this piece - made me laugh. Do you know what those dotted lines mean in bar 4 at about 1.12 - it's not a glissando surely?
@tomekkobialka - Cziffra is like a musically genre in it's own right. I can't believe how fast he plays those different alternate chords at about 1.28-1.29. Do you think he's the best pianist 'technically' who ever lived? That's what I've been telling people and nobody has been able to disagree.
D:..................this IS humanly possible!?!?

who is the composer?
CziffraTheThird 5 months ago
@CziffraTheThird
1. Look at the video info (many people fail at this point)
2. Look to the right.
3. Look at the two quavers; to the right it says: Buy "Valse Triste (VECSEY)"
4. Realise that the composer is Vecsey.
OR, on the first page of the video (not the title, the one after that), you can see in the upper right-hand corner: F. Vecsey - G. Cziffra.
Problem solved! ;)

You can stop MR CZIFFRA!
His exaggerations, his extreme technique, all that he writes in the score is so exaggerated, it's the reason there's only one idiot who disliked it.

Sounds a little as though sibelius' valse triste had been rewritten by a psychopat, imo...

@Jim341046 It's meant to show that the melody is shared between the two hands.

1:28-1:30. How did he do that? Crazy, over-the-top, uncalled for Fabulosity!!!!!!

@aardvaark069 I didn't see your comment but I just wrote the same thing. I couldn't nearly that fast even if the notes were the same...

Cziffra with heart on sleeve! Fantastic. I can just imagine him hypnotising his Budapest bar audience - a pianist with twenty fingers!
