I took the ski lift up, pushed/slightly biked to the top along the Devils Backbone trail, pushed/somewhat biked back down that same trail, then rode the ski lift access road, taking the cutoff that leads to the ski resort parking lot. IIRC, most of the Ski Hut trail could be MTBed. While that's consistently steeper, there's also less exposure. There's only short one section of boulder hopping.
