Why did they kill the Queen ? She was an innocent victim and a sensitive and loving woman, a mother of children who were taken away from her and even killed. She suffered so much even before the violence of the Revolution. The fact that she ordered the creation of a fake country village is a sign that she really wanted to get away from all the hardships of being an unloved, unpopular Queen.

un donna di straodinaria umiltà e coraggio. Affrontò a testa alta umiliazioni e offese, da parte del popolo francese, innenarrabili per la loro ferocia e volgarità!

This lovely melody sounded so romantic in the dynamite soundtrack of the film by Sofia Coppola named Marie Anotinette. Of course, it is shorter in the movie. It also sounds sad...
It captured the feel of pre-revolutionary France. What an amazing time that must have been at Versailles. I just wish the sounds of the birds were not as loud.
Eh si, devo dire che sono i luoghi più belli, e che più ispirano pace e serenità, che abbia mai visto. Son rimasto colpito dall'intenso profumo di rose nell'aria, quasi come se l'anima della regina fosse ancora lì presente. Se penso, poi, che dal 5 ottobre del 1789, quando le guardie la vennero a chiamare e lei scappò in fretta e furia, non vide più la sua adorata "piccola Austria", mi si spezza il cuore.
