Thanks for the great pictures! Both those cars are really good! I know had both the 2000 ZX 3 5spd @40 MPG and the 1980 Ford Fiesta 4spd @ 33 MPG; except mine were both orange in color. Its to bad the U.S. didnot go with the "Fiestva" name like the Canadians did and kept the basically the same body style (i believe) all the way till 1990.
I hate to sell my killer 80 Fiesta but I don't have storage at my new house in New England. Please let me know if you're interested before I eBay it this spring.
@JulieZook Yeah, I haven't had time get over to the barn it's stored at and de-mothball it (it's pretty far from my home in RI). Not sure where you're located, but if you're not too far from MA, you could come take a look at it.
Had one the same color too!!! It was lovingly called Kermit or The Frog. It had the habit of backfiring when you upshifted. It was actually a great little car in winter, even though the heater left something to be desired!
Mine was that same exact color, but I had the windows tinted Limousine black and then I painted the wheels black and added chrome trim rings on them. I wish I could find the pictures. That was a great car right up until it died...
@420witchdoctor thank god for students who need fast cash. i've been keeping my eye on that same 750 dollar fiesta on CL. if anyone hasn't bought it yet, i will.
If your Fiesta wasn't a 1980 model, it was a 1979 model. Those were the only two years they were imported. Once you took the catalytic converter off these, they were pretty fast. We towed our 24' pontoon to the cabin with one of these, which looked retardedly stupid going down the road. It made it no problem (slow of course), and launched/pulled the pontoon out no problem. I swear my old man did it for the laughs alone!!!
I once owned an '80 Fiesta. It was the first car I ever owned, and it was a great little car. Lots of pep, and really fun to drive. Unfortunately it was totaled at around 78K. (Went through a stop sign at the end of a country road at night and ended up in a field.)
Wow flashback! Growing up as a kid my parents purchased a brand new Ford Fiesta in that exact paint scheme as yours from Codiroli Ford in Livermore, CA back in 1980. Many found memories in that car growing up. Nice to see one in the condition yours is in. Nice car :)

I owned a 78.. Miss that little guy.
Was fun to drive, and cheap to own.
Reliable as well, but had some chintzy parts.
They were made 1978, 79, and 80.
Ford replaced it here with the new for 1981 Ford Escort.
Although the escort had more features, it was a boring car with a serious cylinder head cracking issue.
The Fiesta was a much better car overall.
Ford made a mistake in not continuing sales of the Fiesta.
Models in Europe just got better with each generation.
