many thanks for upload... this is the first time i got shown how the ocs work in fm8.... i had a demo version i just couldnt get my head round it at all....why native instruments dont release a dvd on sound design is beyond me...maybe they dont want people to use the synth just use there presets.... any links to the building block on using fm8... linking on all that would be well cool as you did do things really quickly..

NEED expert help....

When I automate something in the Easy/Morph panel and save the project it's like I hit "apply" and the automation restart at the point it was when I saved the project.

It's annoying to have to put all the parameters at the "0" value before I save my project every single time.

You probably found this out after you did the video but SpaceDesign actually has a built in EQ that you can roll off the bass of the reverb within the plugin, instead of adding a filter to the bus.

i have a question: do you have a sugestion how to get rid of the "clicking" in the bass? i would like to have a deeper bass, without that "clicking" (hope you know what i mean). play with the envelopes? or add the operator x or z?

Good Tutorial mate.. I also find FM8 a bit daunting but this definetly helps... Explaining things like what the ratio did etc was helpful.5 min video can sum up what would take an hour or so reading a manual.

@bitterbaws it will duplicate everything including any plug ins and all settings in the track. The only thing it doesnt copy is the sidechain settings on plug ins for some reason (in logic 8 at leaste)

you need a DAW like Ableton Live, Fruity Loops or Logic Studio, then you'll need instruments, like synths or software instruments like FM8.. that'll get you started

Thanks for the tutorial - a couple of points: You can link the oscillators to the same envelopes which saves duplicating them

The effects section has 2 EQ effects and a reverb. Possibly not up to the Logic lugins but good to keep the settings with FM8

This maybe a noob questions but I have FM8 and Pro logic 8, FM8 is able to open in Pro Logic but once I hit a key it doesn't make any sound at all.. anyone know what's wrong?

could be any number of things, the signal could be going out to the wrong output or some channels in FM8 in Logic itself could be muted.

Check your audio and midi settings and on the soundcard tab make sure the output device is set correct ie ds speakers (realtek high definition audio) thats what mine says

For the main bass sound as far as I've heard the best thing to do is have it dead centre to provide a foundation to build the track on. Maybe some of the the higher bass sounds can be panned a bit though.

Yep, it's Logic Pro and I recommend it thouroughly. For Macs only unfortunately though :)
