Only used these types of stores to your advantage (new games on sale and used games that's in good condition). Never buy consoles or accessories here as their is a chance of getting a used version instead of a factory sealed one.
I agree with most of your points, but it's not just Gamestop/EB Games with the "must be 18 for cash" thing. Other used game stores do that too and it really sucks cuz im 14 and my parents never go in with me. Also, I payed for a new DS game and they gave me a used cartridge.

I get into a game shop and they were selling a second hand psp, And they put one of those stickers on the screen and even though I wasn't going to buy a psp anyway it still mad me mad.
i remember once i went to sell my ps2 and ps1 with about 30 games and they wanted to give me $20 for it, i thought he meant one of the consoles but for the whole lot. what a bunch of greedy assholes
i walked in there to replace a ps2 memory card and mortal kombat deception for the ps2. not only did they replace it no questions asked but i walked out of there with more cash than when i came in.

I noticed that they had GTA San Andreas (which I already own) but I picked the case up to have a look at it anyway.... IT WAS $38 MOTHER FUCKING DOLLARS!!! I bought that game back in 2007, brand new for $20.... how the fuck can EB games not feel guilty for selling a 7 year old game for that much....
When I was standing in line at Gamestop to purchase a Nintendo DS, the person in front of me was selling their Nintendo DS. They got $30 for it. When I got up to the counter, they charged me $90 for the Nintendo DS that the person just in front of me sold. I'm still mad to this day that I didn't ask to buy that persons Nintendo DS outside of the store for $60 or something better than $30.

I shop at Gamestop, but only for older used games under $15 or $20. Then if I want a new game bad enough, I'll go to Best Buy, Walmart or Target and buy it. Never buy "new" games at Gamestop because they're not new, they're gutted. If you're going to plunk down 60 bucks for a new game, get it at the other stores where you'll get it shrink wrapped and brand spanken new.

i loled when i was in eb games the other day in the pc section they had call of duty black ops, sims 3 and the new grand theft auto with the discs in them and you could open them and just walk off with them... but after a while with 5 of us looking inside cases seeing how many times they failed..... the girl realised that they "forgot" to put discs away and that was 20 games just sitting on the shelf opened with discs still in them.... the next week all the discs were away awww

If you watched silentrob's video, he mentions that gamestop itself is a fortune 500 (or 1000) company. So given the fact that this is the only brand gmaestore around, I would see the reason why everyone complains and so should you. Gamestop is HORRENDOUS.

Story Of A Bitch: I was at EB Games getting Hitman Contracts for PS2 and she grabs me a "new copy" that isn't sealed and has those damn stickers all over it. I look behind her and I see actual sealed ones and say "can I have a sealed one instead?" and she replies in a horrible mean tone "are you THAT picky about a game?!". I felt like bitching her out for talking to me like that. I should have. Like what the hell is your problem, why do you even care? I'm the damn customer.
I learned something from my father, many years ago. The customer is ALWAYS (no exceptions) first! Had that bitch pulled something like that on him, not only would she have most likely lost her pathetic game advisor position at GameStop, but she would have had a very difficult time searching for a new job. New Games: They are all new and some are opened so people dont steal them.... If you get home and it is scratched you have 30 days to bring it back...The guy was nice but he should have told you he can order it and let you wait for a new copy.
Used games don't have white labels. New games have white ones and used have yellow. Do you have a better idea to sort them ? We are open to suggestions. In our store we never stick anything on the actually paper. As for the glue... baby oil. easy

I work in an EBGames and lemme tell you a few things.
Don't bring in a XBOX 360 and expect much...As opposed to what you may think we actually all play or own an xbox and know that they all fucked up sooner or later.. so we don't even buy or sell used ones anymore (In our store) (Canada).
We don't give cash in our store so I can't explain on that one. Although I can say there is a reason why they don't let minors sell games.. So they don't have to deal with parents who bought that game

Take into account, the number of used games they buy back and how many actually sell, for every copy not sold, its money they lose, that's why trade in values are usually so low.
You have to be 18 years or older to trade in game or anything for that matter to Gamestop PERIOD. Not just cash, everything. Gamestop is technically acting as a Pawn shop at that point when they buy games from customers, and when you sign that little agreement on that pin pad, its stating that You agree to the terms and verify that you own these games aka you didn't steal them.

Just be glad you do not go to EB in Australia. Here, they take 50% off for cash and I'm not even sure if they allow you to get your payment in cash anymore due to people stealing games from other stores then trading them in to them

i work at gamestop. i hate the fact that we rip people off, but were a business. i try my hardest when someone is selling something to me to give them a "special" trade in bonus. I personally give them at least 10% more, or a 5/10$ gift card. we have specials every week for selling in games. if you capitalize on some of them, you can actually make decent money/tradein. corporate makes the trade in prices, so quit blaming the employees. i give nice customers extra credit, just cuz i know were bad
@DarthWobbey because most employees fear being fired. the only reason i work at gamestop is because i get discounts and i get games one maybe two days before release. but it sickens me when someone comes in with a game a week after release and i have to give them just 25$. thats why i give extra for stuff like that. it makes me feel better about what i do.
The thing about the them opening new games to put the cases on the shelf- that must be a per store policy, becouse at my local gamestop when i buy a new game from them the game is always sealed,they just pull it out from a drawer from behind the counter.

When I was standing in line at Gamestop to purchase a Nintendo DS, the person in front of me was selling their Nintendo DS. They got $30 for it. When I got up to the counter, they charged me $90 for the Nintendo DS that the person just in front of me sold. I'm still mad to this day that I didn't ask to buy that persons Nintendo DS outside of the store for $60 or something better than $30.

Dude just wait tillt hey do the 3 game trade in value for 20%. I went to trade GTA in about a week before this sale and they only offered me 10 bucks for it so I decided to keep it. In about a week my friend had 2 other games so we wanted to trade all 3 and get that 20% right? GTA was then worth 8 bucks and came out to 10 bucks total trade in, that's the same amount they offered before the sale WTF! Obviously a bunch of scammers.

They do that just encase someone steals your shit, they have info on the person who stole it. I shop at Gamestop, but only for older used games under $15 or $20. Then if I want a new game bad enough, I'll go to Best Buy, Walmart or Target and buy it. Never buy "new" games at Gamestop because they're not new, they're gutted. If you're going to plunk down 60 bucks for a new game, get it at the other stores where you'll get it shrink wrapped and brand spanken new.

i loled when i was in eb games the other day in the pc section they had call of duty black ops, sims 3 and the new grand theft auto with the discs in them and you could open them and just walk off with them... but after a while with 5 of us looking inside cases seeing how many times they failed..... the girl realised that they "forgot" to put discs away and that was 20 games just sitting on the shelf opened with discs still in them.... the next week all the discs were away awww

If you watched silentrob's video, he mentions that gamestop itself is a fortune 500 (or 1000) company. So given the fact that this is the only brand gmaestore around, I would see the reason why everyone complains and so should you. Gamestop is HORRENDOUS.

2: Amazon and/or Ebay ,more times than not, will meet or beat Gamestop/EB prices.
Gamestop/EB sells convience, nothing more.The company lives off the impatience of gamers who will undercut themselves to get that game or system. The competition is out there, but gamers are too impatient to use them.

Had that bitch pulled something like that on him, not only would she have most likely lost her pathetic game advisor position at GameStop, but she would have had a very difficult time searching for a new job. I work in an EBGames and lemme tell you a few things.
Don't bring in a XBOX 360 and expect much...As opposed to what you may think we actually all play or own an xbox and know that they all fucked up sooner or later.. so we don't even buy or sell used ones anymore (In our store) (Canada).
We don't give cash in our store so I can't explain on that one. Although I can say there is a reason why they don't let minors sell games.. So they don't have to deal with parents who bought that game

As for the trade in prices, Gamestop is a business, and they're out to make money, plain and simple. Take into account, the number of used games they buy back and how many actually sell, for every copy not sold, its money they lose, that's why trade in values are usually so low.

You have to be 18 years or older to trade in game or anything for that matter to Gamestop PERIOD. Not just cash, everything. Gamestop is technically acting as a Pawn shop at that point when they buy games from customers, and when you sign that little agreement on that pin pad, its stating that You agree to the terms and verify that you own these games aka you didn't steal them.

i work at gamestop. i hate the fact that we rip people off, but were a business. i try my hardest when someone is selling something to me to give them a "special" trade in bonus. I personally give them at least 10% more, or a 5/10$ gift card. we have specials every week for selling in games. if you capitalize on some of them, you can actually make decent money/tradein. corporate makes the trade in prices, so quit blaming the employees. i give nice customers extra credit, just cuz i know were bad
