  • This is what they do in the south when you come in a prius >:)

  • 3 people want to protect there nice/ugly cars.

  • That there is EXACTLY what I want. Very nice!

  • Hey... you can turn that spout straight back and fill the bed full of snow for extra weight.

  • @Mr7475ih ya and with the amount of gravel and rocks this thing can pick up.. it'll also do the courtesy service of windshield destruction... plus it will overshoot the bed by 20-30 feet...

  • Fucking scary.

  • Now thats how ya clear snow there driver! Nice work!

  • bet the now blower attachment is worth more than the truck, cool idea though if you have a real slow gear

  • I know my weapon of choice for the zombie apocolyps

  • Somolian riot control unit # 2

  • that truck *blows* (pun intended)

  • I personally would use the small diesel off of a semi reefer unit if it were big enough, these are only about 20HP not sure what that blower requires, probably more than that. Rock crawler gears in the T-case would take care of the need to crawl along.

  • i wanna put my hand in that so bad!

  • to bad you couldnt figure out how to drive it off the engine, some much energy is lost converting it to hydraulic.

  • @michaeljp86 it is already hydraulic... so it is easier to just change the power source... and the VW engine provides twice the required power

  • I can see why you want a VW engine on it. Are you going to have it engine driven or have the VW engine run a hydraulic pump?

  • @michaeljp86 the VW engine will run the hydraulic pump.. we are putting it in the truck bed.. it is already heavy enough on the front end of the truck..

  • Its not really dangerous, its only running while your blowing snow. Its not like you would be stopped at a stop light with people crossing infront of it with it running. You need to make a video of it blowing snow.

  • @michaeljp86 look at the upper left hand corner of the video in the first 10 seconds for a link to it blowing snow..

  • Have you considered putting some sort of metal guard over it? Maybe 1/8th inch bar with 4" square gaps? Would still allow snow in easily while preventing a very messy form of vehicular manslaughter.

  • @94XJ ROFL!!! let me guess you live in a city?!?!?! that would be like putting a screen over a wood chipper!! or a guard over a Combine Harvester?? Equipment is dangerous.. ever seen a guard on a walk behind snow blower?? doesn't happen... you need as free flow of snow..Even a plow can kill you.. this thing can clog without obstructions... snow compresses easily and will turn into s big wall if you put a grid over it....

  • What drives this plower?

  • @michaeljp86 it is hydraulic.. right now it runs off the truck engine.. soon it will run off a VW engine..

  • That thing is so dangerous!

  • holly hell?????? it's like someone wants to murder the snow haha

  • That thing is amazing i would love to get one

  • could you imagine someone just turning the blades on a chasing you down the street hahaa

  • How much?

  • mad max called, he wants his truck back.

  • Now sir, is it possible that you over did this?

  • damn that looks dangerous 0.0

  • @letterpool IT IS!!! there are stickers all over it warning not to put your hands (or anything else) in there!

  • I hope the neighbors dog stays off your property

  • @AdirondackNY we have a border colie who has been "plowed" by a conventional plow.. he was unhurt.. Since I don't want "Dogburger" I keep him either in the house or in the cab while using this,,,

  • I live in Maine and need this bad boy! DAM!

  • Holy crap, is that thing a Transformer? I'm from a big city and I've never seen anything like that before (ran into this vid by accident). Cool vid-thanks!

  • holy shit

  • why not run it off a pto? does your tranmission or transfercase not support one?

  • @turtlemann14 no pto available on a 1985 chevy...

  • @rustoxide Is it an automatic? If its a stick then the trans is an SM465 and a PTO was very available in 1985

  • the other problem we are having is that the pully system in there to run this stuff iis a little large and causes rubbing on the lower radiator hose, this has caused 2 explosions of steam and antifreeze.. which needs to be fixed in awesomly cold weather... The VW solution should fix most of these problems. I apologize to any bug entheusiasts out there for depriving a vw of it's power source.. but i need it to save my truck. to clarify. the VW engine will run the blower, the truck is still diesel

  • We are about to Repower this thing... it is currently powered by the Diesel in the truck.. but we are about to change it over to a 1600cc VW engine in the bed of the truck.. we have had alot of problems with the hydraulics off the engine.. all of these problems are agrivating.. one is that you have to REV the truck to get it to throw without clogging.. problem is that when you re it the truck goes too fast to blow snow.. so you need to ride the clutch.. this wears on the clutch and engine

  • looking to sell?

  • @badbrad52

    not a chance

  • not quite

    a little more

the blower was 2500 and the truck was 1800

  • How much you want to bet the snowblower attachment is worth twice the amount of the truck? lmao

  • needed you in milwaukee, wisconsin like a week ago.

  • i would love to see the thing work.

  • the blower is hydraulic.. there is a huge pump (relatively speaking) on the diesel engine of the truck.. the lift and turn are done with a 12v traditional snowplow lift and turn pump.. will make another video of the works in action when I get back home from Hawaii in september...

  • What did you do to power the blower ? shoot another vid of the engine and back side of the blower
