  • n echte meezinger.liedje van mn vatti en ik..

  • No diversity! Every kid is white! That must stop!

  • So proud to say that he's my dear mum's cousin so this song was one of the first to be played to me when I was a tot. x

  • Great video, and sadly so yesteryear, reminds us of a more inocent time.

  • Aww! I did not know Crispian had passed. :(

    RIP Pied Piper. ♥

  • My favorite, happy song :P Timeless

  • RIP this song is so gr8 even 45 years later thanks for posting this so cute all the kids playing follow the leader so innocent they all look in the camera so funny

  • This is creepy...Was I the only one that noticed some of the kids weren't even wearing pants?!

  • @Dechristianize90 They have shorts on-very short shorts. It was the '60's. Those were more innocent times and it didn't seem 'creepy' then but I understand with our modern eyes it does look strange.

  • Great song!

Although Crispian obviously didn't read the original story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, in which the Pied Piper KIDNAPS the town's children in revenge for the residents' refusal to pay for his services as a rat catcher. So, it turned out to be a singularly bad idea to follow the Pied Piper, for rats as well as for the children, which makes the line 'Trust in me I'm the Pied Piper' sound rather ironic. Don't follow him poor girl whom this song is about, it's a trap!!!!!! :-)

  • @BloodyHellLDN Timothy leary was the pied piper of LSD

  • @BloodyHellLDN Gotta wonder if Michael Jackson sang this song to boyscouts LOL

  • I found this song when I watched the movie "The Lost", and immediately became a fan.

  • Song always makes me think of Ray Pye.

  • Cool song...cute video!

  • Whats with the laundry basket?

  • Oh, how I love this song! It came out in summertime here in the U.S., and immediately became the favorite of my group of friends. When I hear it, I still feel the sun, smell the salt air of the beach, and that wonderful "I'm young, school's out, and everything's special" feeling.

  • If you notice all of the kids are wearing winter coats and yet they are wearing the shortest shorts that I have ever seen, crazy man.

  • This is a good copy. Remember it well, love it.

  • filmed at a school? cute.

  • Haha really cute

  • those kids dont have pants

  • Correction on my comment! My cousin is at 44 seconds. I looked up Crispian St.Peters and I found out that his real name starts with Peter so he made up this stage name for his singing career.

  • RIP Crispian

  • A great big thanks for this video! I told my sister about it and I did not remember that she was in it. I have a cousin who is in this video as well. If you catch the girl with glasses that is my sister at 5 years old. My cousin is the little boy who is scratching his eye at 2.34 looking at the camera. I was from the UK originally but was only 2 years old when my family moved to Canada. I still have an accent when I get excited. I have only gone to the UK once since we left. Big difference!

  • @mywolf1 Yes, as you say - a big difference, and not for the better in many respects! This video is great, it looks a perfect summer's day and all those kids are having a ball. Great song.

  • John Lennon knew a good melody?song when he heard one. He made his living?legend out of a great melody. This is one of the most memorable greatest songs of all time@

  • Excellent posting! Thanks for bring back to life one of the most-loved songs from my teen years. May his music continue to bless us all for many generations to come.

  • Sad to hear of his passing. RIP Your great tune will live on. Fluff

  • I was thinking about this song last night in bed, I can't believe I found it on Youtube. Thank you so much for letting me re-live my youth. I love this song so much

  • I still love this song after all these years...the great ones never die....always in our hearts and souls...R.I.P. Crispian.

  • Love him and it brings back lovely memories from when I was 14 years old and in love for the first time! 1966 and this wonderful song! I will never forget it! A 59 year old grandma of two. xo

  • You would so not be able to make a video like this now days..... A bunch of kids following a grown man around ?

    Quality tune though.

  • i just dont understand what this songs about, can anoyone explain?

  • Damn, he had a lot of kids and not much laundry...lol..

  • My Dad, Daniel Ward took us to see this artist live many times, my sisters and I.

John Lennon told Peter that THE PIED PIPER was one of his favorite songs but my best memory from Peter was speaking to him one evening at a party at our house when he told me…..

“Your Dad is a great man Caroline, don’t ever forget that”…. and I never did…

RIP a great man and a brilliant artist.... you will be always on our minds....

  • @drcward Thank you for sharing!

  • @drcward

Lovely story, Caroline. Thanks for sharing it. :-)

  • You gotta love these old songs...thanks for sharing.

  • Rest in peace my sweet pied piper...

  • Aye, keef1212... Actually, the UK expression of day-month-year is more logical than the Yankee expression of month-day-year, but "logic" is a matter of perspective for those of us on the other side of the pond who drive on the "correct" side of the road! Be that as it may, your posting of this wonderful tune is very much appreciated. Thank you!

  • @MysticSojourner Don't worry, the Yanks are the only ones in the world that put the month before the day, Canucks, Ausies, and Kiwis write it the proper way, if I'm not mistaken so do the Japanese. In Canada, however, we drive on the right side of the road, but then again there would be chaos going back and forth over the border if we drove on the left since the rest of the Americas outside of the U.S also drive on the right hand side of the road.

  • Awesome! I used to play this one. It's such a great song. Thanks for posting!!

  • Where Is This At?

  • haha my dad is in this video

  • @Matthehunter1 Really?

  • Classic1966 Hit. Pied Piper by Crispian St. Peters I loved this song when I first heard it and glad to see on it you tube performed by such a great recording artist.

It's sad to hear he passed in June of this year. RIP! Pied Piper!

  • @starblue1986 RIP Crispy. You left one hell of a great song

  • RIP @ 8-6-2010?????????? Are you anticipating is death in advance????????? Sick and Morbid is all I can say but I've always loved this song............

  • @mpsicily: In the UK we put the day/month round the 'wrong way' lol...

We also drive on the wrong side of the road :))

  • @keef1212 Ok that explains it!!!!! You also forgot the funny "accent" that you speak with also:)) Anyway thanks for posting this I've always loved this song........

  • @keef1212

    hear, hear :-) - June 8 2010.

    I've got this as a single 45RPM

  • @keef1212

No way! I thought we in the U.S. drove on the wrong side of the road. Anyhow, like even the great John Lennon said: "love this song" - so do I!

  • @keef1212 in the uk we put the day/month round the correct way and we also drive on the correct side of the road

  • Rest in Peace dear Sir :-)

  • RIP Crispy, thanks for the music.

  • RIP Crispian St. Peters
