  • how lovely one of my new favorites , i have never heard this song magnificent . i love connee boswell thank you right to favorites

  • Swoooooooooning!

  • One of the best vocalists ever with equally fine musicians accompanying.

  • Very groovy.

  • If you ever get a chance see the 1937 film "Artists and Models"-Ms Boswell teams up with Andre Kostelanetz on a gorgeous but completely forgotten song called "Whispers In The Dark"-It was nominated for the Academy Award that year but did not win and the only recorded version I own is on an old LP by Paul Weston

  • @emergdispatch There is a recording of Connie singing Whispers in the Dark. It was her theme song for years. I'll see if I can get it posted.

  • When I die, I want Connee to sing to me with her " heavenly " voice !

  • this is so lovely.

  • Wonderfully sung as no other ever did.

  • Another gem of gems! Brava!

  • I may have missed it, but does anyone know in what year was this beautiful recording made? Thank you.

  • Not got the stuff to hand. But this exact version was on the BBC's wonderful "Pennies from Heaven" TV Series CD, and they, stunningly, included ALL recording information. So it is all there. Readily accessible, if I can ever get these boxes emptied.

  • Vocalists come and go, but Connee started a vogue for more intimate phrasing, and led the way for Jazz interpreters like Peggy Lee, or Ella Fitz, she was great.

  • Great, Great voice. Amazing how God continue replenish the earth. We are just a passing cloud; I guess this is why I am so facinated by these artist on Youtube. They were big stars in their days. Connie was great; makes for a great movie about beauty, brains, what a voice and unrelenting determination!

  • SWEET VOICE, AND LOVELY HER.

  • Wow-- have never seen this photo of Connee before. Lookin' pretty foxy!

  • Thanks for posting this one ... love Connee Boswell, solo as well as singing with her sisters. This one is one of my favorites of her, ever since I heard it in "Pennies from Heaven" (BBC-series).

Did you know she was in a wheelchair most of her life due to childhood polio?

If you happen to have "I'll Never Have To Dream Again" by her I would love to hear that too! Lost my copy of it and haven't been able to get a hold of it anymore.

  • Beautiful song and lady.
