  • The last great film Alec Guinness starred in before Star Wars

  • Apparantly this was written during the first world war. I wonder what the original words were , Were they also rude?

  • this is one of the greatest war movies of all the times

  • Lol i remember this from SpaceBalls when the little midget whatsits save lonestar from the desert

  • Comet it makes your teeth turn green!

    comet it smells like gasoline!

    Comet it makes you vomit!

so eat some comet and vomit today!

  • Hitler, he's only got one ball

The other, is in the Albert Hall

With his mother, the dirty bugger

She cut it off when he was 4

She threw it, into a Chestnut tree

And it rolled into the deep blue sea

Where the fishes, rolled out the dishes

And had bollocks, and Swollocks for tea.

  • I saw the movie yeatersay and I like dit a lot.

First that col. Nick is prepared to die just for principle's sake because his subordinate officers are not supposed to work. A week or so after he more or less took over the camp he makes is officers work voluntarily.

And the jap has become even more mad over that^^

  • THERE WAS ANOTHER SONG IN THIS MOVIE WHICH WAS PLAYED AT THE VERY END OF THE MOVIE(MADNESS) AND IN THE CROWD SCENE AFTER NICHOLS WAS FREED FROM THE HOLE...WHAT IS IT...ANYONE KNOW?

  • ALEC GUINNESS WAS TERRIFYING IN HIS MADNESS IN THIS MOVIE.

  • Ho sempre amato this song

  • A brilliant cinematic masterpiece completely beyond compare! Alec Guinness so richly deserved the Oscar for this truly astounding film!

  • super

  • Ironically, this was the theme - albiet in a rather less militristic form, for the graduate 'grand march' 50 years ago.

  • Actually this is called the Colonel Bogey March. Written by Lieutenant F. J. Ricketts.

  • nice work

  • @Ewolf98 Absolutely. We like to include you chaps so you don't feel left out!! ;)

  • One of my favourite war films! I love this theme a lot.

  • this reminda me of commandos 2 the bridge over river kwai

  • when i lissen if if feel somting i was officer

  • On Memorial Day and Remembrance Day, comemerate those who gave and are giving their lives so that we can see/hear this music and even be able to comment about any of it.

  • anyone remember the Getty commercial with all the guys marching over the bridge?

  • My third Cousin, Sir Malcolm Arnold, wrote this score...

  • Just back from Berlin, nice city but what got me, was the fact they have the attitude that they were the victims.....Following orders only goes so far.

  • @MrGlasgowwarrior that's a throwback to the historian's debate of the 1980s called "historikerstreit". It's a complicated phenomenon but it's common amongst societies that do not engage in reconciliation processes after devastating events. Although with what's going on in South African right now I'm not sure if TRC commissions really do much good in the long run either.

  • it goes like this JAPAN YOU ONLY GOT ONE BALL come on admit it

  • tis song is thee best

  • hitler has only got 1 ball, the other is in the albert hall, himmler has somethin simler' and goballs has no ball at all!

  • hitler is dead...so I don't think he has any balls anymore

  • lol true

  • hehe ;)

  • Aw c'mon, you all know it's: "Bull shit that's all the band could play is Bullshit they played it every day...." I like this tune. Why did you ruin it? oh wait, it was ruined after ww2 was ended. and the Korean war was 'going' on. It is nice to walk to. if you know what I mean so quit with the other remarks, it's already been done. But, they are funny too. but so what . lets just keep enjoying it any way.

  • " Hilter has only got 1 ball his mother the dirty bugger cut it off when he was small "

  • Hitler was wounded during combat in WW1, thats how he lost one ball.

  • I know ! the verse iv written below is what my grandad used to sing to me . it's what he used to sing during the war and other ppl during the battle of britian .

  • BANZAI!

  • The "Colonel Bogey March" is a popular march that was written in 1914 by Lieutenant F. J. Ricketts. Because the tune is so identified with the film, many people now incorrectly refer to the "Colonel Bogey March" as "The River Kwai March". (In fact, Arnold used this name for a completely different march that he wrote for the film.)

  • wow

  • Thanks. I heard this song and knew it was from something other than this movie.

  • isn't this a real song...colonel Bogey's march? Or was it made for the movie?

  • ww1 song from the british, who later made a bunch of lame parodies of it, kind of discraceful if you ask me but whatever I'm american not really my place to judge.

  • As far as I remember, it was the Brits who killed a couple of Danish soldiers in Iraq with friendly fire.

  • get a life

  • @JokerRecordings Nevertheless, this film reminds people that we fought the Japs besides America.

  • @JokerRecordings Nevertheless, this film reminds people that we fought the Japs and suffered for it, besides America. We still don't turn up late for wars though, unless I'm conveniently forgetting something.

  • Bollocks, now I look like a twat for commenting twice.

  • @JokerRecordings maybe they thought the danes were enemies because they were overrun by germany in 1940,

  • @BossHossGT500 ...which would make them "enemies" in Afghanistan?

  • @JokerRecordings take a joke.

  • @BossHossGT500 Why so serious?

  • @angryrecycler67 Yeah, except for declaring a war to III Reich at September 34d 1939 and waiting for Poland to bleed out doing nothing. Very responsible, I've to say.

  • @angryrecycler67 You're sur about friendly kills? what about Mer-El-Kebir? Yes, the ROYAL AIR FORCE attacked the FRENCH FLEET ... I guess some bombs were also unballasted over some french industries by the RAF bomber command before the Normandy landings ...

  • @deusirae76 Royal Navy mate. And Fleet Air Arm. Sorry, I'm a history student, this is what I do. :p

  • @angrygingersteve British forces anyway.

  • I think "The Bogey March" isn´t really going to hit the charts *g* They figured that out one a few decades ago ;-)

  • Comet...it makes your teeth turn green

    Comet...it tastes like listerene

    Comet...it'll make you vomit,

so try some Comet and vomit
