They do...and I have about a hundred Metynsis scattered through various tanks. The problem with them in the Dovii tank is that the Dovii is 19". THe SD's are a bit too small. The Silver Barbs in the tank here are about a foot long. Both fish are from Nicaraugua.
Fish will continue to grow throughout their life no matter the tank size. The growth rate depends on many factors...including fresh clean water, diet and also the lineage of the fish itself. The largest I have seen Dovii in a home aquarium is about 20". Regardless...a 75 gallon tank is way too small for an adult Dovii of any size. Minimum would be 300 gallons. (my opinion)
a very recomendable fish to have. I think i'm gonna get me a dovii too. awsome fish you have there man. Even if I had heard that they are very mean and maybe dangerous to other fish, they are cool to have.
I'll have a 15" male and 9" female at the end of July, like a clone of your pair. :) Took me long enough to find a proper pair...but they are gorgeous!

Don't silver dollars work well too? I always thought they were the fastest. Nice dovii tho, the males a Nic and the female Costa Rican?
