I first learned of the Illuminati in Dan Brown's novel "Angels & Demons", and it said that once the Illuminati were hunted down by the Catholic Church, they took refuge in and infiltrated the Masons.

So yeah, I would first have to join the Masons, climb through the ranks, and then , maybe, I would run into the Illuminati.

I'm not sure that I could pull it off, but it might take me some thirty years !!!!! lol.

I think it's more complicated than that.

There are two definitions of the enlightened/illuminated ones:

1) The religious version: evil Satan worshipers bent on doing evil for the sake of power; money, and Zionism; and

2) The secular one: Renaissance men bent on shining the light of truth, the sciences, and the arts on the religious ignorance that overwhelmed the Middle Ages. Basically this guys are democratic, liberal, scientific, artistic, and are sworn enemies of ignorance and superstition.
