Mainstream rap is created for mass public consumption in the same manner that generic pop music is, just as autotuned and lacking in creativity as most of the latter category is. Making comparisons to a band from a genre where that is not the case is just silly. This band went to shit because the frontman got too big for his britches, not because they were bad (Wisconsin Death Trip and Machine respectively destroy anything Lil' Wayne has ever touched).

@frostiethewicked as I said in my last message: I don't care to listen to punk from 2011. I've always been more fond of hardcore anyway, and bands that were more original. Just offending the norms is kinda juvenile and not really original, for instance the Sex Pistols. It showed in their music. They got big record labels because they were one of the first to be noticed, there were plenty of punk bands at that time, but they were noticed by the right people and others weren't.
@frostiethewicked I've always liked the Misfits and Samhain (I'm aware that's not fucking underground or hardcore), neither Misfits or Samhain are the most punk, but they were both far far more original than the majority of punk bands. Maybe didn't make sense to some, maybe still doesn't, but there are still many mach Misfits bands out there, that don't come close.
I found most punk to be rather slow as well, which is why I perferred hardcore bands like, Dr. Know and Minor Threat.

Alright, now I'm sixteen years old and I love music. Yes, that's right music. Not one specific brand. I come to Static X because they are one of the many bands I enjoy. Now I'm not saying they are better or worse then anyone else, though they are very talented and I enjoy them. And when I see people saying that punk or rock or such are bad, that makes me sad. I listen to those to. Does that make me conformist. No, it just means I like different music. Please, stop fighting and enjoy the music.

Just offending the norms is kinda juvenile and not really original, for instance the Sex Pistols. It showed in their music. They got big record labels because they were one of the first to be noticed, there were plenty of punk bands at that time, but they were noticed by the right people and others weren't.

@frostiethewicked I've always liked the Misfits and Samhain (I'm aware that's not fucking underground or hardcore), neither Misfits or Samhain are the most punk, but they were both far far more original than the majority of punk bands. Maybe didn't make sense to some, maybe still doesn't, but there are still many mach Misfits bands out there, that don't come close.
I found most punk to be rather slow as well, which is why I perferred hardcore bands like, Dr. Know and Minor Threat.
