The higher the rating, the less space between the balls and the inner bearing wall, allowing for machinery to operate at very fast stressfull levels w/o problems. @Abec11Zeph abec rating does have a significant difference...free spin means nothing tho...if abec ratings meant nothing they wouldnt have them...i recently had abec 9 bearings they were pretty good. then when they got messed up i switched to my old abec 5's and there was a significant difference...on the abec 5's i count skate for as long without pushing

@iLOVEfingerboards96 these bearings go pretty fast but bones reds last a lot longer and still go fast..lucky hardballs are really fast but dont last very long...i would get bones reds but make sure you clean your bearings for maximum durability and speed

@1outdooradventures2 its not a bad thing if they come off its just that a little more dirt will come in so if they fall off you should clean your bearings and theres no shield on the back back it doesnt matter if u have the shield on the front bcuz the back will b sealed and no dirt will get in
