When I was goin through some bad times all I did was listen to Blind Willie McTell.. it took me through a whole bunch of rough patches, and when I listen to it now it never fails to bring me peace. God rest his soul.
@ramsay97 i think the crackliness you're hearing is due to the recording technology available in 1933... When I listen to Willie Mctell and Robert Johnson... It kinda cracks me up how the recording sounds so bad, but the music still sounds so soulful, powerful. The early to mid 30's down in the Delta produced sooooo much good music. Even Seattle in the early 90's pales in comparison
@jbsgx24 This wasn't recorder in the Delta, but in a hotel room in downtown Atlanta with a portable recorder by Alan Lomax............Not that I'm trying to split hairs or anything. But yeah, it's "sooooo" good.
@daydreamer96 We're living in a society were lyrics and musicianship don't count for much anymore. As long as you have an attitude or a nice ""Booty" you're in... :(
Thanks to Jack White and Meg White for bringing back these songs in their covers. Not many bands choose to go back to the roots and start everything from the zero.
ragtime dorian henry you rule man where did u get ahold of so much good music?
