I believe that tyranny can come in many forms. It's the direct result of perhaps too much of a good thing. It can come with all forms of government. What would Lenin have said the goal of Capitalism is?
@Elin48 Yes, I agree that tyranny can come in many forms. However, modern (20th century) history has shown that both the Nazis (National Socialists) and Communists in Russia gained power not from "too much of a good thing", but just the opposite. Lenin HATED Capitalism, calling it the ultimate evil. And Lenin & his cronies (like OBummer & his currently in the USA) wanted to "do things quickly before the people catch on"! And so it went. Lenin & then Stalin killed MILLIONS of their own people! :(
...and what about socialism don't you like? Those countries which have Democratic Socialism have a higher standard of living than here in the US, places like Denmark, Finland, Norway etc. Plus tyranny and socialism so not go together...they are in opposition to one another.
@Elin48 With all due respect, you need to understand that the USA is not now, nor was it ever intended, to be SOCIALIST! And you may wish to consider that a lot of people came to the USA from the very countries you mention to escape oppression. You also fail to speak about Greece, Spain, or France, how's socialism working there?
