  • PURE GENIUS.

  • 3:45 makes this video my favorite thing in the world.

  • I was just thinking of this the other day at the dentist. My dentist is a fan of this show and I brought this scene up and we both laughed. Loved the a--hole bomb Vickie dropped. This to me is hands down the greatest scene, I still laugh hard at this!

  • I remember seeing this on tv when it happened! To this day it is PRICELESS! I miss that show so much! I was in the audience 2X when the show was taped. Wish I had been there for this! Carol's show is one of my all time fav's! Still a HUGE fan of hers!

  • scripted

  • :57 I love it - he has Carol, Vicki AND Dick all hiding their faces.

  • i wish they could get jonathon winters, robin williams and tim conway in a room and just let them go at it. that is one video i would pay good money to see and the proceeds could go to charity or something

  • Tim Conway and Harvey Korman -- those two tried their best to crack each other up *all* the time on the show!

But then, if you listen to some of the bombs Vicki Lawrence dropped (see above) proved she was no slouch either!

  • Hands down, this is the funniest scene ever done on live television!

  • i've gotta believe this is the funniest sketch i have ever seen - we need shows like this today in 2012

  • Tim Conway is a genius.

  • -3!

  • I just got back from a Tim Conway show. He's still got it.

  • FNORK!!! OMG!! I laughed so hard my face still burts!! Endless hours of enjoyment with the Carol Burnett Show! Tim Conway was always my favorite!! Hahahahaha, OMG! can't breathe,,,, arrgh!! Thank you so very much for this!!

  • I got tears coming from my eyes from laughing so hard...been a while since I laughed like that! Thank You Earl Sinclair for posting this!

  • if you watch tim closely, even he is having a hard time keeping a straight face. lol. i'm 18 years old, and man, this stuff is pure gold. everything on tv now is just nasty.

  • If you don't laugh at this, you have no sense of humour!

  • Loved this show.

  • @katom312 oh me 2,this show is hilirious.lol

  • Absolutely Priceless piece of television history!

  • 2:09 ,Carol had me in tears, you know she's thinking," Oh no, we're done for."

  • where can I download this?

  • hnorket!

  • @Mrbrosef I love it!!!

  • The elephant squashed him.......... they had to shoot the elephant. :) i don't know if its a rumor or not, but they were buried together. :) can i get a top comment? :)

  • to bad they dont have this kind of stuff on tv anymore, this was family tv all the way, now we just have crap tv, thats all it is, CRAP TV.

  • Does somebody have the transcript of this?

  • It used to kill me every time one of them would have to duck their head or turn away to hide the fact they were cracking up with laughter LOL

  • How could 101 people not like this???

  • @jillinois100 they were laughing so hard they missed the button

  • @1daisypie That must be it !!!

  • If you look closely, there are several moments here where Vicki (as the acid-tongued Mama) comes close to losing it. That alone is tribute to how wicked funny Tim Conway could be; of all the castmates Vicki Lawrence was the best at staying in character when everyone else around her--Harvey, Carol and whoever was the guest star--was falling apart. But of course she gets the last laugh with that topper of an ad-lib. Love how Carol sprawls and Conway and Van Dyke fall to the floor in hysterics.

  • "I assume in your life you've seen some silly elephants but what in the hell makes you think I have?"

It's the line from Eunice between these 2 stories from Conway... who's just slaying TV legends in their own right here!

  • 2:09 - Carol Burnett was like "oh no, here we go again." LOL

  • omg laugh so hard i was in tears....i'm in my 20's but i luuuv old school stuff like this. they definately dnt make em' lik dis anymore:)

  • What is wrong when 99 people dislike this funny vid?!

  • Well done Vicki to top Tim, that must have took some doing?

    The greatest outtake EVER!

  • @TheBim1987 Considering it took Vicki, Carol, and Dick nearly 5 minutes to continue the scene until Tim had finished his story, that was all the time Vicki needed for a good comeback I guess.

  • i was crying after i saw this wow this is one of the funnest things i ever saw

  • poor carol hahahahaha shits funny as hell

  • nitedrive, you might like Brian Regan. He's a stand-up comic who manages to be funny without resorting to profanity. He's on Youtube.

  • I think that Carol held it in the least, and Vicki held it in the most???

  • Shows taped before alive audience could do things like this to get the audience laughing hysterically, then go on with the sketch and edit the imrpovised parts out, leaving the audience to laugh more than thyey would at the other parts. It sure beats a laugh track.Red Skelton did this, too which is why the actors on his show and this own often had a hard time containing their own laughter.

  • Twice Carol knows that she will have to let Tim continue due to his great set up lines or...if she doesn't the audience would have rebeled..."there was a rumor that trainer and the elephant were lovers"..."it's just that I was at a freak show once and I saw these Siamese elephants". You CANNOT stop the story then! Then from 2:20 to 3:00 you can see Tim's mind forming the upcoming story as he tries to contain himself. The timing here is classic beyond words. CLASSIC.

  • @gurlsingerfan So very true, these guys (with the exception of Dick Van Dyke), plus Harvey Corman who was not on the show in that season were the best sketch players ever and Conway was one of the best ad-libbers around. Classic stuff indeed...timeless. I remember seeing this sketch when the show aired on Sat. nights, looked forward to it every week.

  • Thank you for posting this video!

  • @Todd76705 opps my bad lol

  • Snorkie!! I love it!!

  • Still one of the all time greatest scenes ever captured on camera. I cry laughing every time.

  • This man was an ad lib demon, I LOVE this sketch.

Re: pug40 'Harvey Korman' is the regular Carol Burnett Show actor's name [check him on IMDB] , However in THIS sketch the giggling actor is indeed the great Dick Van Dyke.

  • @YayasMedia Right, it's Dick Van Dyke. A DVD Who can hardly control himself from laughter brought on by the other great comics who surround him.

Somewhat like watching the gods "humoring" the other gods, as it were.

Moreover, the way TC tweaks Burnett's sensibilitiies here is just excellent.... ;D Pretty hard, I imagine, to do something that would cause Burnett to bust a gut...but here we actually see it. :)

See also: Burnett flashing fake boobs for more of the same.

  • miss this very show

  • @Pug40 Thats Dick Van Dyke.

  • THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE SEEN ON THIS SHOW WHICH IS SAYING ALOT. THEY WERE ALWAYS TRYING TO MAKE ANOTHER CAST MEMBER BREAK UNDER PRESSURE, BUT THIS HAS ME CRACKING UP UNCONTROLLABLY EVERY TIME I SEE IT. LONG LIVE CAROL AND CREW

  • That was Harvey Norman not Dick Van Dyke

  • @Pug40 wrong, it's dick van dyke in this clip.

  • Is it me or is Dick Van Dyke fighting to keep from peeing from laughing. I would be.

  • One of the funniest shows ever..Love watching one commediene crack up the other cast members live. I too love this pure comedy, but have also grown to like thing's like two and a half men. I am just glad my kid's grew up in purer time's. They would would have been sent out of the room constantly in this day.

  • I like the way Vicky Lawrence said "the little asshole" line in character.

  • does anyone know which episode this is?? please let me know if you do ive been searching for weeks and can not find it.

  • "Are you sure that little asshole's through?"

  • Comment removed

  • 98 people are dead inside.

  • also I am here to have fun

  • "HNORK!!" XDDDDD

  • My dad showed me this sketch and now I cant stop watching it!!!! Cant...Breathe...Laughing...So... Hard.....It....hurts.....!!!!!

  • This is the funniest clip ever. I loved this show plus Candid Camera but this makes me laugh every damn time! Tim rules :)

  • What a great team they were. True artists. Perfect timing by Conway.

  • One of the top five best shows ever. PERIOD.

    Conway is a genius.

  • this is the best blooper i have ever seen. tim is so funny.

  • OMGosh, I remember seeing this years ago and cracked up then. It's never the content that got you... it was how they all cracked each other up

  • Carol: Go mamma

Vicki: Did you here that little a**hole's story

  • Comment removed

  • That`s funny!

  • Mamma always had the last word

  • hiya nothing is too crazy

  • Is there anything funnier in the history of tv? I doubt it.

  • You've got to love live television...

  • "You sure that little asshole's finished?"

  • @Swalka1991 Sounded to me like "did you hear that little asshole's story?"

  • @Swalka1991 vickie lawrence says "you sure that little asshole's through" not finished.

  • 4:15 best part

  • Vicki Lawrence had a knack for topping, she could hold character longer than anyone. That's Dick Van Dyke at the other end of the couch, btw.

  • FHNORKIE!

  • Comment removed

  • I used to watch this show growing up and I miss shows like this. These skits made you laugh and they didn't have to be crude or dirty to do it. This is one of my favorite skits from the Carol Burnette show.

  • I love at the end of the clip everybody on the set just said, FUCK IT and just started falling on the floor laughing

  • Vicki Lawrence probably delivers one of the best unscripted lines ever in this skit.

  • Remember that scene very well. Think it was the only time Tim Conway lost it and fell over laughing. Comedy shows now are pitiful.

  • Tim Conway always pushed his cast masts, especially Harvey Corman, with a str8 face, just to see how far he could go. He was BRIALLIANT!!!

  • Cybil Sheperd was great also.

  • 91 could only go "FNORKE"

  • I thought that was Dick Van Dyke on the end of the Couch!

  • What a classic!

Looks like 91 people stepped in elephant poop.

  • I'm posting this just for my dear lovely wife! She saw this and was laughing so hard, I thought she was going to have an accident. Now when we have company over, and they see the spot on the couch..."oh, it was one of the pets"! If you ever come over to visit, PLEASE...DO NOT MAKE the "Snerph" sound!!!!

  • I'm fairly young but I still remember watching this show. When I watch stuff today, especially 'Two and a Half Men', I think back to the Carol Burnett Show and wonder how they managed to be so funny without resorting to penis, poo and semen jokes. Rhetorical question of course.

You don't have to be crude to get laughs. Too bad we've sunk so low.

Fraiser's gone, Everybody loves Raymond is gone. There are few if any genuinely funny, clean shows anymore.

  • @nitedrive I agree COMPLETELY with you. I'm 28, and in my lifetime I have seen television and entertainment plummet to the depths of just plain gross and uninspiring. I miss TV shows that a family can relate to, laugh along with, and be uplifted by. Seriously, just turning on a television set is a major risk because we are exposing ourselves to a bunch of CRAP...and sadly, we're all getting so used to it that we don't even question it anymore. We SHOULD. We need more shows like this one again...

  • @nitedrive I totally agree. I do not even watch modern sitcoms since I do not find them funny in any way. All I watch are educational channels, dvds, and of course youtube. It's kind of scary to think what television will be like in another 15 years?

  • @nitedrive And yet Tim Conway's story is about bestiality... seems there's a penis joke in there somewhere. Then the final funny is where Vicki Lawrence uses a crude word.

  • @CitiesTurnedToDust -

This is an outtake. Vicki Lawrence's crude word didn't air. Not even sure Conway's 'bestiality' joke aired.

  • @nitedrive you think bestiality is clean?

  • This is real talent at it's best....LOL! XD!

  • Vicky Lawrence just pushed it over the edge! awesome hahahaha

  • I know I've watched this a hundred times but it busts me up everytime.Too bad there insn't anybody or ensemble that evengets close to being this funny. Absolutely love them.

  • One of the funniest things Ive ever seen. This still brings tears to my eyes everytime I watch it. Dick Van Dykes reaction is priceless.

  • I've seen this clip many times, and it always makes me laugh. You gotta love Tim's smile at 2:13. Of course, Carol's trying to keep from losing it pretty much throughout! This is just great stuff!

  • I remember my parents putting me to bed when I was a kid, and they would watch this show. I could hear them laughing hysterically. Looking at these clips, this must have been awesome to see this live on tv at that time.

  • What does the mom say at the end?

  • @jcspeb010

    "Go on, mama."

    "Y'hear that little asshole's story?"

  • @reginaldgoldthwaite no, it's "you sure that little asshole's through?"

  • @jcspeb010 I think she says, "Are you sure that little asshole's through?" !!

  • In response to a question about who could possibly have the talent of Carol Burnett (comedy, singing, dancing, etc.) and do a variety show similar to hers, Tim Conway said, "The Kardashians." He's too funny!

  • I dont know why in the world SOMEONE does not release this entire sketch in it's entirity.

  • Some of the best comedy on tv ever.

  • The best!

  • That brings back so many funny memories of laughing out loud at their antics. I could hardly wait for them to be on because it always ended up with them breaking up at their own skits!!! I miss that kind of comedy!

  • Love LIVE stuff

  • ((laugh)) 5 words and she destroys them all.

  • @dncarac she broke conway after he broke everyone else! that took smarts

  • can anyone give me a transcript of what tim is saying? i having hard time hearing due to audience's loud laugh....

  • Genius!

  • ROFL aaaah they dont make comedy the way they used to.

  • I love Tim! Aw man when Vikki had that big finish and kept a strait face...LOL!!!

  • Trying to figure out how anyone can "dislike" this. 88 "dislikes"? Really? This is brilliant ad lib!!!

  • @EarlSinclair Yeah, then Vicki Lawrence destroys everybody again, including Tim Conway HAHAHAHA Funniest blooper ever...

  • Is that Dick Van Dyke on the right?

  • @IHateRidge Yes it is.

  • FREACKING AWESOMLY FUNNY!!!!!

  • Sorry 88 people have a horrible muscle illness that causes them to flinch without consent. I am sure they meant to press the like button.

  • such tallent and so fabulously funny!!

  • Knorky!

  • Leave it to Vicky for the last word. Hilarious stuff!

  • Rember this was live so anything could happen.they are all icon

  • my favorite hahaha

  • That is so bloody brilliant. You just don't find comedians who can just do that anymore.

  • The greatest thing about the Carol Burnett show was when they tried to hold in their laughter to keep from cracking up. :)

  • "FNORKEN!"

  • Classic Tim Conway

  • They made this cracking up on set stuff a staple of the show. I enjoyed it at first but then it sort of wore thin.

  • @FritzOmnibus Why so cynical? They have since had interviews with Carol and Tim, and they revealed that they would schedule an 'open' script moment for Tim and no one would know beforehand what he was going to do. It made for madness and magic. They are wonderful memories for me. ; )

  • I haven't laughed this hard in a long time....classic!

  • Tim was the funniest person on the show.

  • I just could not watch this show without the pain of laughing too hard! IT was the best thing on television!

  • Comment removed

  • This is my favorite one!! EVER!!!!!

  • Great example of the power of symbolic based communication. Much like radio, you are able to listen to the story and complete the improbable images in your own mind, One or two words some may find offensive but they may be laughing so hard they don;t hear them in the video

  • did u here that little ass holes story

  • This makes me so happy.

  • Now that's entertainment!

  • TV is crud today. You want true television? Watch this!

  • Tim Conway is awesome. He always make Carol and Harvey crack up.

  • which episod is this from?

  • @saedog50 It was the final season when Harvey Korman Left and Dick Van Dyke took his place.

  • @DarthSideous63 = Actually, Korman left for the final season - but Van Dyke did NOT replace him. Dick was in only 13 total episodes for the entire series run. He merely played a member of the family in this sketch.

  • "fnorkee"

  • Vicki closed the scene very well lol

  • @toplaycool21 In character too, funny shit.

  • snorrrttkked!

  • Amazing comedy. But going tru some of the

Comments I cnt help but notice that how some people can feel great by blowing their own trumpet. I saw many carol clips here on utube thanks to all those peps who uploaded these gems.

  • @mightydyckerson really? cool.... she is dead. keep it up.

  • @mightydyckerson honestly i still cnt belive you could keep up the conversation. You seriously need consultation little man. Seriously. You did not get the hint even when i said she is dead.

  • @rshekdar Thanks for confirming Carol Burnett is dead. That should put to rest any rumors that she is still alive.

  • @mightydyckerson she is not dead

  • @mightydyckerson Does it 'get you off' being a troll? Get a life, you fuckin' asswipe!
