  • wouldn't it be fucking epic if the bird realised it's a fake snake, flew above the guy's head, started kicking him in the face? XD

  • I want one!

  • @TehSpaceSnake which is ironic because your name is TehSpace-->SNAKE<-- :P

  • @mkocja5a Lol I like snakes too, only birds are really cool.

  • It's Beautiful the tale is mythological

  • Cool. It's good to know that these birds aren't threatened...yet.

  • AVATAR BIRD :D

  • After watching this I have become convinced that the secretary bird is, in fact, a previously unknown species of dragon

  • I've seen the secretary bird in Tanzania:D

    HE'S AAAAWESOME!

  • AWESOME bird! but in this video it looks like the guy is just playin with her instincts :(

  • Questions: what sort of habitat and how much food do they require to survive? Do they only eat snakes or are other vermin (moles, ferrets, etc.) on the menu as well.

Was thinking of getting a pair to provide snake control (rattler) in the Redding CA area.

  • they look like dinosaurs

  • I see one of these when I was at the San Diego Zoo, and the first thing I thought of: HIPPOGRIFF!

  • @bonchatbonrat why the hell they named it scretary bird? wtf

  • @ketaq because the feathers on top of their heads look like a secretary's pens (quills)

  • If anyone lives within a few miles of Andover, you can see them at the Hawk Conservancy, brilliant place to go for Secretary Birds, Hawks, Condors and all sorts of amazing birds

  • this better be a zoo...

because average joes aren't supposed to be keeping exotic birds like this. they belong out in the wild savannah in africa, free with the rest of God's creation.

but they are pretty cool. :D

  • @12zuzus

Hope it isn't a zoo either, then.

  • Going to Tanzania in January, can't wait to see one!

  • I would kill to have one of these things live with me, and run around and stomp the shit out of stuff.

    Secretary bird: How's your face?

    STOMP STOMP STOMP

    Some jerk: Dead as fuck.

Fuck Utahraptor, THIS is the coolest raptor of all time.

  • lol, better than a guard dog.

Can you imagine, some jackass sneaks into your house and out of nowhere this bird comes flying with legs flailing, fucking up shit.... yeah. that would be cool.

  • Is that spamping behavior learned or instinct?

  • Instinct. In the wild, secretary birds stomp on real snakes to catch and eat them. Very cool birds =)

  • Thnx - meant stomping but you read my mind lol, thank you so much:-)

  • This is at our zoo

  • This is at our zoo

  • jesus christ it's a dinosaur

  • @sp4cepope The coolest thing about that statement is that it's actually true :D

  • She lives in the bird park and is around people all the time, but they do not treat her like a pet, so I guess she would be sort of domesticated. :)

  • Is it a domesticate bird ?
