  • Also, you're lucky for the fact that you guys got the Pontiac Parissiene up in Canada. It was basically the GTO look on a 409 Impala frame... such awesome cars, and 409's are dangerously fast motors.

  • Your Thrixo isn't easily held? The Thrixopelma cyaneum I had was probably the most docile T I've ever dealt with. It only kicked hairs once and otherwise would swing it's behind around like a purse, often avoiding any frontal contact and wouldn't even pounce crickets so much as poke at them shyly before eating.

Could be the species difference though, I've not had an okerti, and most reports I've read on cyaneums would suggest they're similar to the one I had.

  • this one is slightly more defensive than cyaneum. I wish I can get one, but they're rare in Canada

  • Cyaneums are pretty rare anywhere. I've tried to find another since I lost mine, back in 01-02 when it was still under the Cyclosternum sp denomination. They're one of the prettiest T's there are, and considering they have the beauty of a Green Bottle without the aggression, and only come from a small mountain region in Peru it makes them a hard T to find. I've been offered 150 dollars for my male before they knew it was dead just to breed and send it back along with a 50/50 sack.

  • that sounds like a great T to own

  • Oh they are... absolutely wonderful T. They're also gorgeous, much like a slightly darker GBB but with a heart-shaped metallic patch of urts.

  • Oh they are absolutely wonderful T's... but in my opinion it'd be impossible to find a T that wasn't worth it LOL. Also, you have good taste in engines, the 3800 Series V6 from Chevy is probably the best V6 they ever made, same with Buick's 3800 they put in the GN/GNX, as well as in the Trans Am anniversary turbo edition.

  • It is. I got the 3800 series 2 V6 supercharged in my Oldsmobile LSS, a rare car.

  • Never heard of an Olds with the 3800 II Supercharged motor before. Sounds like a fun little car.

  • neither have I, its the only model to have that engine, but very few were supercharged

  • If they weren't so expensive I'd love to get my hands on one of the anniversary turbo V6 Firebirds from 89 I think it was. GNX 375 horse motor, or somewhere in that neighborhood. I also wouldn't mind putting one of the new all aluminum GM SUV 5.3's with the fuel management in a 92 firebird.

If your Olds wasn't such a rare model, I'd suggest looking at the single turbo kits for the 3800 II, the exaust on most models was so good that it gets 300hp with a very simple setup.

  • NEat little spider.

size isnt everything for T;s small ones are cool too no doubt!!!

  • Hey Jon, my G Rosea used to never go inside her hide, but now she won't come out. Could this be a sign of pre-molt?

  • very possible

  • Mine hardly ever goes in hers, either, and she still webbed it, like if it were a cherished relic of some sort. Ha-ha.

  • lol

  • That was one of the laziest hair kicks I have ever seen lol. Great vid Jon.

  • lol

  • for x-mas im getting a pink toe i was wondering how do you know when its hungry, what temp to keep it at and what type of den it likes aswell as what plants are good to put in a T tank that doesnt need much light

  • its just like other Ts, throw a few crickets in. If its gone within the day, remove them

I do have a caresheet video on avicularia species. They need temperatures in low 80s with 80-90% humidity with good ventilation. Keep them fully arboreal, with lot of climbing spaces and places to hide. I only use artificial plants
