I preferred flying on the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 to the 747!! Maybe you will go on An A380 someday! oh don't forget the 747 is quite an expensive aircraft to run (i.e. Japan Airlines have now faded out their 747's).

@zennie62 Yh I flew on the A380 and it was so amazing. I flew in first class with Emirates as a present off my parents to Australia and you get a bar, shower etc...Unfortunately I didn't have my camera on the day (I forgot it) which I was gutted about :( 777 my second favourite haha

You are obviously a seasoned traveler, but I see in this video that you still find some excitement in flying; imagine me, 51 years old, flying on a United 747-400 for the first time to Seoul and feeling giddy standing at the far back of this enormous plane just as you were. Thanks for jogging my memory.

United & others are fazing out the 747s due to old age and its high fuel consumption & replacing them with 777s. 767s will soon be fazed and replaced by the 787

@Tierren32 Actually, United is planning on replacing their older 744s with the Airbus A350. A few will be replaced by the Boeing 787, but the A350 is the bulk replacement aircraft for UA's 747s. And I don't think all of United's 747s are going anywhere soon, considering they are receiving entertainment upgrades. The 767s definitely aren't going anywhere, since UA is equipping the entire fleet with lie-flat business seats and winglets.

Can someone tell me whether United's 747-400 Economy seats have PTVs installed in them? I'm aware that Business and First have PTVs, but the last time I flew with them, they only had over-head TVs with crappy movies I didn't wanna watch so like can anyone confirm whether they have upgraded any of their planes... cause I can't stand to sit unentertained on a 10 hour flight....

@UrbanGamers i heard united is starting to upgrade all there 747s with PTVs and new cabins. I think its supposed to be completed by 2012, so just not yet, but its coming up :)

@UrbanGamers no i havent been on any united 747s yet... one thing i noticed is that united, delta, even lufthansa and air france's 747s have outdated really crappy economy classes

lufthansa, air france, delta and united, that i know of, don't have PTV's in any of there 747s. Thinking that the 747 is a legend.... and its used on longer flights. but those four airlines have AVOD in alot of their 777s and 767s. But i heard all of those airlines except air france is gonna upgrade like united is :)

@lugonic97 Depends which class you use. On first and business you get a personal TV. In coach you get LCD monitors throughout the aisles.

@Snickenz0rSteven United sometimes uses 747 and 777 and 767 on routes between their hhubs to reposition them to an international flight or a flight to Hawaii. (usually just 767 and 777 to Hawaii). And no dont even talk about 9/11. Those planes were crossing the country. Wouldnt have made a difference if it was an A320 or a 757 that got hijacked and crashed. Still would have been tragic. Oh wait, 2 757's did get crashed on 9/11, didn't they?

When you showed the interior of the plane it reminded me to add Flightplan to my movie rental list. I liked that film.

I'm fine with cramped conditions only if the flight is less than two hours.
