@7150285 he was spooling his turbos all the way. diesels aren't always good at racing a light because they need to stage like that. these guys were going for times, and he obviously didn't care if he left on green or not.
@RM250D8rzr That's a possibility, he COULD have a handicap, BUT, you can obviously hear that he wasn't ready to leave the line when the lights changed. He waited, and when he was completely spooled, then he took off. (the clock didn't start here until he left the line) he was going for the time. not the necessarily the win.
@MxJoel165 you can see the light went out on the right lane then and can see the light was still on for his lane you stupid fuck. he left right as it went out. they must of been trying to match race.
@RM250D8rzr I'M stupid? hahahaha, if only you knew anything about drag racing. those are the STAGING LIGHTS. you can see at the beginning that he comes up and the pre-stage light is on, then he moves forward slightly, and the second yellow light is up. This means he is all the way staged. After the light turns green the car goes, and since he crosses the line, the staging lights go out. the truck waited, and then left, and when HE crossed the line, then HIS staging lights went out.
@Mrstonester look at the power to weight ratios... guarantee you'll understand why. and if I hear anything about "It's a ford peice of shit hahaha derka derka!" I'm gonna personally piss on your face.
@smartycummins2500 I know what and why. I just asked why everyone else can't tune correctly, or why they find the pollution and noise to be "manly". I am no eco-nut....just don't get obnoxious, loud, dirty vehicles. I have advocated diesels for more than 20 yrs. I think the new generation diesels are AWESOME. I would think a "hybrid" truck would be fantastic. Have a constant-speed diesel generating electricity to a motor on each wheel. Fast, awesome towing, clean, great mileage....
@hybridatsun350 dumping fuel = not burning it. in other words, it is lost power and pollution, nothing more. i can stand at a diesel pump at a gas station and spray it on the ground. is that "making power"? no, it is waste and pollution.
At what point in this post did you stop to consider that building this truck would take a lot of money and anybody driving it would likely be very cocky also.
haha!!!! theres some real fucking power right there man!!!!! that guy in the car must have shit his pants when he looked back and saw nothing then looked in front of him and saw nothing but the last tiny bit of the tail end of the truck! haha i love that truck man!!! Bad ass!!
As much as I normally like GM's trucks, I have to say GM's been lacking in the diesel department lately. Those Cummins trucks certainly seem to be doing better, and they've got 2 cylinders less than the GM's to boot!
Actually, the dirtymax has quite a bit of potential. With just tuning (efi live) they can put out over 500 hp to the wheels! I would have to say, off the lot GM has won the power war. Ive seen a new LMM with a set of MPI twins & efi live tuning throw down 642 RWHP! Ive yet to see a new 6.7 cummins or 6.4 powerstroke throw down those numbers! I am not brand biased at all, just stating the facts.
As far as bolt ons, the cummins is easily ahead of the game.. I have had several very quick diesels, and been modding them since 99. My daily driver 06 2500 dodge put down 844 hp with bolt ons with diesel only, and I never dynoed on nitrous. It did run 131.7 mph in the quarter mile on street tires. It also turned in a hand calculated 23 mpg with the cruise set on 78. I like the dmax, I just wish the internals were stronger. I have a crazy modded kodiak, and a 69 camaro dmax project..
Awesome! Also it looks like the 6.7 is finally coming up in the power wars as well with the new twin setup that compcowboy has. I knew as soon as I got rid of mine that would happen. lol. I could'nt agree with you more on the potential of a cummins. I was just stating that the new lmm ( & LBZ) duramax are have quite a bit of potential with some custom tuning & of course compounds help. Hell, even the 6.4 has some good potential with 564 RWHP with spartan tuning.
sledheadbill, there's a whole lot going on that you haven't heard about then. 650HP is an extremely LOW number compared to the limits people are pushing these days w/ their diesels. Guys (and girls w/ Charr Drever's 1400HP Cummins) are pushing their street-legal trucks to the limit. 1200HP is relatively common for them. Chris Werner's 01 Dodge (w/ swapped Cummins 12-valve) pushes 1500+HP w/ a double-shot of NO2. Powerstrokes can't do more than 800HP. It's all Cummins and Duramax's at the top.
You must have misunderstood what i was talking about. I was simply talking about the new (2007.5 & later) 6.7 cummins (Not the 5.9) and the new LMM Duramax. Yes the 5.9 cummins is the undisputed champ at the moment. 650 HP is not a bad number for simply adding compounds & tuning to a stock LMM or LBZ, & yes the 6.7 is their as well, except you also need to install larger injectors to get to that number. Thanks to H&S, Smarty, & Matrix, tuning options are getting better for the 6.7.
Yeah I misunderstood that you were just talking about chips/tuning (and possibly compound turbos). I think the new 6.7 Cummins is silly w/ it's emissions strangulations. It's a larger displacement motor that gets worse fuel economy (how's that "green") and worse performance (less energy output per gal of fuel) than the older 5.9's. When people finally discover that the DPF's don't help prevent global warming but instead cause more consumption, I wanna be there to slap them HARD across the face!!
Exactly! Leave it to the epa to come to the conclusion that getting 5-7 mpg less is somehow better for the environment! I would love to see what kind of emissions these trucks put out while on an active regen mode. Probably worse than the 5.9, u just cant see the soot, which is'nt that harmful in the first place.
Im all with you guys on the DPF thing, im a diesel guy to, but unfortunately the DPF filters so much that it is still cleaner than a straight exhaust truck at the end of the day even though it burns more.
It may take out most of the particulate matter that would be getting out, but they are saying that it will help offset or slow global warming.. the point they're overlooking is that the crap that the DPF filters out is heavy matter which would be sinking to the ground and not rising into the upper atmosphere anyway. It's a total waste of energy that is based on the bogus soft-science of the global warming bandwagon. They are actually burning more fuel which definitely contributes to the problem.
The Drevers use NADP transmissions (they're both Canadian). Not DTT, ATS, Suncoast etc... most Canadians seem to go w/ NADP trannies I think. It doesn't really matter. I'm sure there are shift differences between them all, but they're all great trannies.
Whoooo shit!!! yah, there are cars that can run those times....
but how many of "those" cars can get great fuel milage, go off road, haul anything you buy at the Home Depot, not to mention tow over 20,000lbs. and still...STILL..run 9.68...with a GVWR of over 8,000lbs. I luv diesels!!!!!!
hey bro too bad that EVERY modification you do to a diesel vehicle adds HP and MPG's....you hadd 150Hp injectors your lookin at 1-3mpgs! get a clue and know your shit its no gasser....totally different concept diesel vs gas
you dont know anything, wow, this truck i gurantee gets at least 16 or so mpg. my dads 2005 running mid 14's in the 1/4 mile on a STOCK turbo gets 23 highway and 17 runnin around town, try to get a gas truck to tow your 9000# camper to the beach and still run 14's in the 1/4 and get 23 mpg highway empty. not possible with a gas truck.
atekido, you (and many other ignorant people out there) have no idea what you're talking about. Diesel trucks get great MPG! When you sup' em up, the econ GETS BETTER!
Of course, when he's racing a 1/4 mile, he probably uses a gallon or more (up in black smoke) just to spool the turbo's, but whatever - it's a race!!! When people are doing sports, they consume more energy - period! If you eat 1000 more calories a day b'cuz you jog 3miles a day, you're contributing more CO2 than that truck. Haha!

Renpopo 2 years ago
Ya its clean cause of something called nitrous. Lots and lots of nitrous.
white98cummins 2 years ago
Nitrous would add more fuel, making more smoke... soo its probably alot of boost to even out the fuel to burn clean.
dankcorey2424 2 years ago
@dankcorey2424 nitrous injection burns hotter and faster, and ignites easier! it causes diesel to burn wayyy faster!
its an alternative to more boost!
lots of guys with too much fuel just add nos for dynos and racing cause its cheap and easy, and beats turbo mods for cost. (short term)
