Again is the UFC topic. How about we ask the gracies to fight without using joint locks and they must fight standing up? WT practicianers were trained to strike vital points as a REFLEX through Chisao exercises. And most of these vitals points are illegal in any sort of ring fight / sport setting.
I'm not saying Emin would win, it's simply pointless to argue based on a fight that never took place.
tyrlena knows wats goin on, in WT or WC ur body is trained to giv way at certain points and certain pressures so if sumone in ufc grabs u by the wrist and ur natural reaction that u've been learning is an eye strike u can't just cut out the techniques because of how u r taught. Ur body is programed to move without u thinking.
Shut up about real fight and not real fight! You learn Wing Chun to train your natural reflex. If someone come charging towards you, you were trained enough to react quickly. If someone try to punch you, you know what to do. A typical "real" fight will just be people punching or slapping each other, Wing Chun is able to go beyond that point and you should be able to know what to do in a fight situation.
Learning Wing Chun Kung Fu has helped me to understand how to gather energy and I have been able to use this energy or Chi to help the body to heal. The Difference is I actually understand how the healing takes place at the cell level thanks to my Father Dr C. Samuel West. and the Free Lessons now you can to.
....the strenghts: This is a system that is designed to get fast fighters and fights should be over in seconds. And you DO get fast in your hands, arms and legs. If you practice this system a lot, you will be able to use it with succes. But not within the first couple of years. But most people stop before getting there. And the chain isn't stronger than the weakest link. And that is the lack of real fighting. The simulating isn't good enough.....
what is real fighting? why is it that this is the biggest issue with those that cant fight. have you even been attacked or in a " real fight ". the weakest link in vt are the instructers that dont teach or havent been in any fights themselves. such was not the case with classic ving tsun. but you wouldnt know that would you. in fact most mma or bj stylist havent fought a day in thier lives.
hehe...sure thing...have you ever met Sifu Hennning or heard about his back ground? He is a pretty fierce fighter. He worked once as a bouncer and has had several street fights. He knocked down a huge pro boxer in Denmark with one single punch. They were/are friends and the boxer were WAY to open without his gloves. Sifu Henning just asked him with irony, "What happend?".....
.....but with my experience after 6 years of wing tsun I know its flaws and its strengts. The flaws: You don't get use to getting hit like boxer, kickboxers etc. do. If most wt-guys get hit, they lose the fight right away. Another flaw is that when you start the training, you believe that you are unbeatable in a fight...but you are certainly NOT! As I see it know after so many years, you cannot use it UNLESS you have been stressed out by real fights......
.....and by that I mean that you have to participate in the fight club in Copenhagen or practice with other more fight-like martial artists who is used to getting hit in the head, belly or legs. It is a very weak point. But do you get to around 12. student grade I would say, that you are pretty well of with knowing wing tsun. If you have been doing this for 10 years or so, this IS a great system......
Where do you train WT? I started in "WT vesterbrogade" and they do have fight club there. Altough i do feel "unbeatable" but i have tried to fight with a Karate friend of mine, and the motions and technincs of WT are not inside my mind and reflexes yet - and i do realize that it may take some years. But its great fun either way :)
I've trained at the WT Center in Copenhagen, a good place to go and test your skills Flommie :) Just remember to say goodbye to the ones you love first!
that aint true i practice wing tsun and i think it´s a very cool martial art but it doesnt make it better than boxing, karate or any other martial art...it depends on the fighter
Good Wing Chun! To all the "experts" commenting that sit in front of computers and dont know martial arts, this is a simple example of how a real fight in the street finishes against a good Wing Chun practitioner. It only lasts a few seconds MAX!
Decent, but ya it doesn't display real-world or a street fight scenario. The attacker isn't really possing as an attacker at all, just kinda playing around.
sifu henning =D such a pleasant man, often smiling when he is teaching.
i agree that if you dont have any real fighting expierience and your opponent has then you will most likely lose.
but to get some of the higher "ranks" in wt you need to have fought several fights, wich i think is in the fight clubs, wich is a fight with 2 rules you start when the judge tell you to and stop when he tells you to
yeah 1 attack and then pauzing to get hit isent nice even for a demo im not asking that he wants to eat the other mans guts but just some more agression would be nice
Wouldn´t hurt the demo or the reputation of Wing Tsun if the "attacker" would truly be attacking. Those were mostly poses. A demo should be showing fighting abilities against a real-looking attack.
it's funny as hell how the guy says he's going to fuck him up. The Street Thug: HEY WHAT THE FUCK YOU LOOKIN AT YOU WANNA FIGHT, HEY WHAT THE FUCK YOU LOOKIN AT YOU WANNA FIGHT. Martial Artist: LOOK THIS IS JUST A MISUNDERSTANDING I DON'T WANT NO TROUBLE. The Street Thug: I'M GONNA FUCK YOU UP. Man that was funny as hell.
lol ur kinda of late arent u this queston has already been comfromed and np i will give one of them a try kung is not about the mouth only the winner gets to tlak do u partice in this art?
Wouldnt work on the streets? Why not? Because only streetfight works on the streets? A punch is a punch a kick is a kick whats the difference? ( Fire arms not included )
As shown here, and in most schools, it will not work. That's the problem. People think they can go out and survive from what they learn in their corner martial arts schools. Without actual fighting in your background all martial arts classes do is make you a funny knockout.
Come by my street, i'll enlighten you. Wing tsun is pure streetfigting. Furthermore theres The Fight Club. 2 weekly fights, no weightclasses no rulses. This is not for entertaining but for fighting.
Some people are insaine! Wing Tsun is over 300 years old and has been used effectively in real combat since its conception.(which is more than can be said for: kickboxing, bjj etc..) It does and will work 'in the street'. I have first hand experience of it 'working' in the street myself.
what happens for the extremly big comments people are leaving on this video....

absolutely....
they never wanted emin to fight the gracies in the cage....
The whole marketing would of been over...and the hype of being unbeatable also.....
I have NEVER EVER seen WT in the cage !!! Only demos.....with students......

WT/wingchun resembles premature playground girls trying to slap each other than anything else.
WT Practitioners say WT is the best for selfdefence, period. HOW can they be more ignorant.. No single approach can be THE BEST in every situation.
Only 2 Wing chun stylists have entered UFC and if im not mistaken both got KTFO in under 1min.
Maybe thats why boztepe talked trash about the Gracies then ducked out after Royce accepted his "challenge".

Its kinder pathetic that you commented the exact same line on a dozen WT videos on youtube. You get a kick out of badmouthing people ?

Wing Chun is designed in olden day China for use in the streets against fighters who practice martial arts of strength and range.
Wing Chun can handle street fighting easily, especially boxers.
