After the Khmer Rouge were driven from power by the Vietnamese in 1979, the United States and its allies refused to allow the Vietnamese-backed Cambodian government to take the seat of Cambodia at the United Nations. The UN seat, by default, remained in the hands of the Khmer Rouge. In effect, the US & the UN supported the Pol Pot regime. Pol Pot fled to Thailand where he lived for the next six years. Thailand is a US ally.

After the Khmer Rouge were driven from power by the Vietnamese in 1979, the United States and its allies refused to allow the Vietnamese-backed Cambodian government to take the seat of Cambodia at the United Nations. The UN seat, by default, remained in the hands of the Khmer Rouge. In effect, the US & the UN supported the Pol Pot regime. Pol Pot fled to Thailand where he lived for the next six years. Thailand is a US ally.

Even if you think what he done was evil and catastrophic(as any decent person should) it is important to understand him, and that's what this video does.
