No, I have not used any UV/IR filter. It was difficult to get the lens and other stuff in India and it was costly too. So I made with some basic stuff like an overhead projector as it has a Fresnel lens and projection lens and a Chinese LCD TV.
Have you used any UV/IR filter ? If yes then from where did you get? I have got same materials exept the UV/IR filter. I am also thinking to use condenser lens to scale better image.

If you make it without fresnel you will get blurred images at the corners and a center circle will be sharp.
