This made such an impression on me when I heard it on NPR that I googled some memorable lines in hopes of finding it again. So glad you've posted it here. The poem is an incisive, inspired, and just critique of these egregiously unjust times.
Shame on America for selling something and then expecting to be paid for it! How awful that a contract is made and then expected to be honored! If you can't pay the mortgage, how you gonna pay the rent?
