We all have the duty to know about the world we live in, no matter our age or particular conditions. I´d like to recommend the movie "Invictus" as an opportunity to think over about our own countries, and the role of e v e r y citizen. . We don´t live in an isolated rock in vacuum, we are all somehow related by cultural, social, and economic bonds. So, it is important people be proactive, volunteering time and knowledge in your own communities too, improving people´s lives everywhere.
Goes to show you that we only help others but cannot even help ourselves....we have starving,poor,homeless here and nothing and no one helps those that cannot help themsleves.

you know what I dnt get, were in a fricken ression, and we have just billions and billions of dollars to give away to other people when we can't even help ourselves, maybe some of that money could go to, oh i dont no.. all the debt we ow China maybe? I no, haiti need help, but we do to.

i couldnt agree with you more aqua540. i mean what happenend it haiti is terrible and i did my part in donating money to help, but really we are still in a ression and we have tons of debt we ow. but seriously where did the gov. get all the money to donate to haiti? tax payer money. i wish politicians can use their own money instead of our hard earn money.

i donated around 50 dollars to haiti. but i feel so sorry for haiti :( it makes me sad to hear that they are struggling from the earth quake.

As I always say the TRUE Rob (and Kristen/Robsten) fans know that he/they are not too comfortable in the spotlight. SO those saying that its for PR or whatever shame on you!
Everyone is doing what they can to help and he in particular will bring a lot of fans and girls/women to watch.

the smallest thing will help them so it doesnt matter if you only have £1,$1 just donate the smalest amount so ther lives can change for the good x

its tje teleton for haiti now. i dont know if im on the position to donate. i did go to the grocery store aound my old house. they're sending clothing and can good to haiti. i send them clothing that i was planing on selling this summer in a garage sale. i want to donate money but i really dont think i can afford to do that. wat do you guys think???

should they lead by an example? u know what I'm so sick of? these famous celebrities who ask ordinary people like us who are currently unemployed to make donations. while their salaries are ten times that of us in a month. i don't care what anyone thinks. I feel it's wrong for these celebrities to give nothing but have the nerve to ask ordinary people to donate. I've already donated to the red cross etc.. on my own will. Thus the saying, rich will always depend on the poor.

If you cannot donate, then do not donate.
The 'celebrity's are using their 'fame' to raise awarness of Haiti and to get their fans to copy and donate. That's all. Its better than doing nothing, I do agree, George Clooney could donate half od his savings and still live comfy. But so could alot of other people. If you dont have money don't donate, if you do, donate what you can.

yeah, I know what u mean. I've already donated, but just so sick of most of these celebrities who make hundreds millions of $, and didn't donate even a dollar toward the Haitian victims. I just felt like they're giving us the middle finger everytime they come on tv asking for donations that's all. kinda like god. volunteers risk their own lives sorting through rubbles rescuing victims after the quake, and what do those victims say or do after they're rescued? they thank god.

@LottieMarroon haiti is by dominican republic in south america. its like a small island. the teleton is "hope for haiti now". it will be covered by almost every channel available including mtv. it will start at 8 in new york. saturday in LA and sunday in london. christina, keys and the stars mention in this video is for LA. new york includes shakira... im not sure how correct i am. but u can google it with the official name "hope for haiti now"... hope i helped.

I don't think so Lottie :( I think the US are just doing the telethon, I would love there to be a UK one, but I highly doubt Rob will be doing two, one for the US and one for the UK. MTV is an american show, with a seperate english TV channel. There will be clips of him I'll bet but keep donating anyways!

The central place for the telethon is in America and its starts at 8:00pm, but robert pattinson will be in england on satellite to america, and will be answering calls alongside other celebs in england and america (:

What happened in Haiti is horrible and there are so many ways to help out. My mom and I bought over 200 dollars worth of clothing and food to send to Haiti and my school is raising money also! It feels great to help out! You don't have to be celeb to help.

They don't, they are FAMOUS. Would you phone up to speak to a random strangr off of the streets? Or Robert Pattinson? People want to speak to their idols and look up to them copy them etc. If they see bla bla helping Haiti, they might want to help because bla bla is helping. That's all it is, they are using their 'fame' for good.

I never really cared about Clooney, but for what it's worth, I'm glad he's doing his part to help the people of Haiti. It's very thoughful of him.
