Are you not a few decades behind, using the terms like communism and imperialism etc? To me all governments are facades. It is naive to believe that there is no control of NPRK from outside. The NPRK is a needed enemy for TPTB as a distraction to their manipulations. That said, I would much prefer to live in a country where I am relatively free to study about all things, rather than being purged (murdered) for my curiosity. That is not a "society", it is a mind controlled prison camp.

The worst atrocities I know of in North Korea was the US genocide of about a third of the population in their war against NK. The starvation is due to the isolation and aggression by the USA until this day. The USA has all the problems you mention here also by the way.
