I've had the cast recording for years and I'm so in love with this show. I'm getting skeptical whether or not I'll evvvver get to see it :( I was in a volunteer program when it was touring in the US and wasn't aware of it back in the 90s. It's so underrated, it makes me sad. Why can't people appreciate this enough to get it on Broadway? Please come to NY Whistle Down the Wind....and wow. Andrea's voice is so beautiful! WHY ISN'T THERE A RECORDING OF THIS!?!?? Crazy.
@BubblieKat My mother took me to see Whistle Down The Wind a few years ago when it came to Boston and I loved it! I really wanna see this again! Andrew Lloyd Webber is the most creative composer that I have always liked ever since I was a little kid!
This show was on a national tour. At every location they stopped at, they chose 12 local children to be in the local childrens ensemble for that place. I was fortunate enough to be in the Hartford showing as a childrens ensemble member. This show was truly wonderful to be a part of. Dann Fink really is a co-star for he has some important, emotional scenes. Andrea Ross and Eric Kunze played the leads, Swallow and the Man.
Eric Kunze has to be one of the best over all performers currently active. Not only does he have an amazing voice, but his acting is heads above the rest. Add to that, he is as humble as they come.
i love this musical, does anyone have the scene or know where i can find it:
swallow: can you keep a secret? a really big secret? you've got to hold your hand up and do the 'see this wet' routine: see this wet, see this dry, cut my throat if i tell a lie...
this is a great a fabulous secret known to none but those withine these walls. you have to join a society too be allowed to know the secret, and all who know must swear never to divulge.will you absolutely swear? if you ever breathe a word
just wanted to let any Eric Kunze fans know that i have 3 videos (only sound though) on here from him singing at the St. Louis Muny last summer, he is playing Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat..so check the videos out if you want to hear more of Eric singing :)
I absolutely love Whistle down the wind. Andrea Ross and Eric Kunze both have absolutley beautiful voices. I am sooo jeaulous. I saw the show at the fifth avenue theater in Seattle and i would love to see it again!!!!
I saw the show in Virginia, and had to go back to see it again. It was profoundly moving and the voices and music were amazingly beautiful. Eric Kunze gave an incredible performance. I wish the entire show was on video. The best I've ever been to.
yea. wouldn't it be nice if they sold the dvd of the exact performance you just saw? btw just so you're interested this is actually the performance in the place i was.
I can't believe how strongly I reacted to this show. I'm no groupie, but I was so drawn into the theme and the emotion of it. Eric Kunze blew me away. I would go to see him in anything from now on. But there was something special about the comination of music, emotion, and stage presence in this show that grips you. Whitney Bashor played Swallow in Norfolk, and has a beautiful voice and look of innocence. I'm glad to know others feel as strongly as I do about Kunze and WDTW.
I was lucky enough to be working backstage in Norfolk. It was such an uplifting, profound show; I'm still having withdrawals from the music. The conductor was phenomenal, and the entire cast extremely talented. I would LOVE to have a DVD of the show. It made me so sad to pack everything up on the last day. Whistle Down the WInd is a beautiful show.
this is by far my FAVORITE musical. it's so beautiful and i loved having third row seats. I would travel anywhere to see it again. But i hope it comes back to the 5th Ave theatre in seattle.
I think this show was wrongly damned. I think the songs are some of my favorites in musical theatre

I love this musical so much, it's my favourite. I went to see the English Tour about 10 years ago, it made me cry so much.

This is such an Amazing musical. I was at this same show, same theatre.
I wish someone had the last movement of Whistle down the wind, in which Eric Kunze and Andrea Ross belt.
It was SO moving I nearly lept from my seat.

I don't understand why Dann Fink is called a co-star, he's in like...one scene. I think Eric should be described as a star with Andrea.

ive never seen this musical, but i sang unsettled scores, is there a different part where he sings the whole song? or is this the whole song?
steinkamp6 3 years ago
He does sing the whole song, but no one has a video of him singing it. There was but youtube deleted it. Eric Kunze is utterly amazing...

kind of corny though, the actual lines. but the music was sooo amazing.

Eric Kunze is fantastic, top A's are fantastic, almost as good as UK's "The Man" - Tim Rogers/Glenn Carter, probably better:)

the trouble remains the book. How the actors can say some of this dialogue without laughing i don't know

exactly. i'd crack up if i had to act in this musical

You rehearse it so much that it looses its hilarity after the first day.
