  • Many who have views about the DS ban should watch this video and not the ones where violence and profanity is displayed in public. The commitment of the monks in Shar Gaden and their practice is what it MUST be. They continue DS practice by practising! Yes we must help Shar Gaden by contributing to the monastery. This is how the practice of DS will grow. Never complain and speak negatively, and not be swayed by politics. Just uphold the practice firmly.

  • @DiamondGirl1971 beautifully said. Yes, I think dorje shugden's practice will always continue to grow and never be suppressed just because the practitioners themselves are such an inspiration to the world.

When I see them and their practice, it makes me believe all the more in the beauty, compassion and wisdom of this practice. It cannot be wrong to be like these monks in any way.

  • Some of the requirements for those who are propitiating Lord Shugden

    Study the Lamrim

    Guru Devotion

    Holding your vows

    Is that evil?

  • I don't know how many monks are in this monastery but without access to even basic necessities life would be soo difficult that's for sure. Yet through all the trials and hardships they prevail with commitments intact to protector

  • @wangchub

that's right. I find their strength and courage so inspiring. They hold their faith so strongly and are never swayed by politics.

And in spite of all the difficulties, they never speak badly against any side or any lamas They just their commitments strongly, practice quietly and never cause trouble, schism or criticism.

What wonderful examples of Dharma these monks are.

  • It is neat to see stronghold of Dorje Shugden practice has blossomed. These are courageous Tibetan monastics who have gathered together to form their own community not to fight back but to survive and to propagate Buddhist teachings according to their tradition. That is their sole reason for Shar Gaden's existence and no other.

  • serpommonastery(dot)org website is very informative. It is very inspiring to read about how this monastery started. There are many other sections such as news, monastic programs etc. Do check it out.

  • This video shows the many monks and reincarnated lamas faith to leave their beloved monastery but never to give up their beloved protector, Dorje Shugden.

  • I do not support the ban and wish very much that the ban will be lifted. There have been so many lifetimes of connection between DL and DS. DL has written praise to DS. DL has ban DS. What's next? DL will reincarnate back again and no matter how many fire pujas been done, DS is still around! Think. Are these normal beings?

  • also visit the Serpom monastery website to get the latest news and updates from the Dorje Shugden community serpommonastery [.] org

  • The Shar Gaden monks are bravely keeping the Dorje Shugden tradition alive despite all the obstacles that they face on a daily basis. The same goes for the monks of Serpom monastery. These monks are the real heroes of today. See the latest of what they are doing - the Taktse Dubcho ritual here:

  • Speaking of supporting the new monasteries, has anyone seen the new Serpom Monastery website (serpommonastery{DOT}org)? Someone on the dorjeshugden{DOT}com forum posted about it. I find it incredible that these monks can practise and study under the ban, AND promote their protector practice using such modern methods. The website looks really good, and doesn't even mention Dorje Shugden that much...very dharma-focused and all about being a monastery, and their activities.

  • I have a friend, Tenzin Sungrab, who is going to tutor Tibetan monks in colloquial English and basic computer skills at Shar Gaden Monastery. This English tutor program was inspired by Jamyang Lama from Dagom Gaden Tensung Ling Buddhist Monastery in Bloomington, Indiana. Currently, there are only two English tutors working with a monastic population comprised of well over 500 monks. I rejoice very much for Tenzin Sungrab and the wonderful work he is doing.

  • yes, we must sponsor Shar Gaden as there are many young monks there - sponsoring the monastery will allow these young monks to continue with their education and studying/practising the Dharma. For example, we can also sponsor their Dharma books, or meals / robes.

And ultimately, the best way to support them is by our own practice, to spread DS practice and lineage far into the world.

  • You're absolutely right TRN. You know, these monasteries wouldn't have been set up if not for the ban, because all these monks want to do is practise Dorje Shugden as their protector practice. It's funny - because of the ban, all these strongholds of strongly-Dorje Shugden monasteries and Buddhist groups have sprung up around the world. Given the chance, and with the necessary support, they'll flourish and will really be positioned to spread Dorje Shugden when the time is right!

  • I do agree with you that the best way to support them is through our own practice but imagine how much merit you'd be creating if you offered just one meal to every single monk of Shar Gaden! It's 700 right? Can't cost that much, and you'd be providing sustenance to the sangha who will grow up to be the next generation of Dorje Shugden lineage holders and teachers!

  • I think the only way for the lineage to die out is if we break our guru samaya, and our commitments and vows, thereby negating our practice. If practice is a personal choice, then come what may, ban or not, the lineage should still be safe as long as we do our practices well, and hold our vows like the holy masters on dorjeshugden{DOT}com.

  • My utmost reverence and respect to the lamas and monks in Shar Gaden and other similar monasteries such as Serbom for taking a stand to continue their practice. Yes, sponsoring pujas is a great way to ourselves and as an offering to the monastery.

  • Wisdom - yes - we need to support Shar Gaden and we can do that by sponsoring pujas for ourselves and our loved ones. This would benefit them and the monastery as well, which will also support the growth of DS practice. Do contact, support, visit and do whatever you can for our Sangha who wishes to practice their lineage as it has been done for 350 years.

  • Thank you for the extensive write up under the (more info) link. I hope people know to click on it to read more. Great that you are helping them to get financial resources.. you are very kind. They certainly need our support since they do not get any support from TGIE anymore.

  • i agree - the monks at Shar Gaden are extremely courageous for leaving their monastery and, in fact, the whole TIbetan community or any govt support to set up their own monastery. This is how much they believe in their protector and hold strongly to the practice. They prove to us how incredible DS and DS practitioners are just by their very action, practice and strength.

  • My sincerest prayers and best wishes to all sangha and practitioners at Shar Gaden monastery. It was a long and difficult journey but these monks remained firm and steadfast in their practice and their monastery is flourishing today. Dorje Shugden helps those who make sincere requests of him. His powerful mantra is short and simple: OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

  • Over the years much has happend, people have argued and disagreed; from this we can see that the DS/Dalai issue was always meant to run its course. At the end of this course is a bright new light, His Holiness the Panche Lama, Qoigyijabu (Gyancain Norbu),班禅喇嘛/班禅额尔德尼.

  • But we can't really overcome the terrible confusion that has been created now between Dorje Shugden and the Dalai Lama. This controversy has run its course. Out of this dead-end comes a new path, the only one that can work for the world: The path of the Panchen Lama, Panchen Erdeni or Gyancain.

  • Whenever Dorje Shugden takes trance in any of the oracles, he never criticizes the Dalai Lama and in fact tells the audience to always withhold criticism towards Dalai Lama. He can choose to say nothing about the Dalai Lama and just keep quiet. Yet despite all the destruction happening against him, he never makes comments, speaks against nor advices undharmic actions. • A lot of people think that the Dalai Lama is head of the Gelugpa school but actually it is Gaden Tripa (throne holder of Tsongkhapa). If HH the retired Gaden Tripa says he practices Dorje Shugden, it is strong enough testament for me that Dorje Shugden is not an evil practice. There are so many high lamas who are practitioners, such as HH Trijang Rinpoche. Thank Buddha Shar Gaden is there for them to practice openly and freely. May everyone be able to practice openly and freely everywhere!

  • nostra120 - thank you for your post. I like your logical and very beautiful points. How true!

The hot news now is that H.H. Gaden Trisul, who has just retired as Gaden Tripa, the supreme head of the Gelugpa school, has left Gaden Monastery and joined Shar Gaden, so he can continue his practice of DS.

How amazing that such a high Lama has the courage to leave the entire Tibetan Buddhist "scene" and government and monastic institution for the sake of his dharma practice and faith in DS

  • HH is a special man, sacrificing his reputation so that DS can grow!

    How can u tell logically?

    1) DS affect on his life is not showing signs and its been years already

    2) buddhas cannot receive the karma of being harmed

    3) Spirits can't harm buddhas

    4) performing rituals cannot stop DS then DS doesn't have karma to be exorcised or killed, so is a buddha.

    5) which karma more, suffer now so that millions can benefit.

    HH is total compassion

  • You may be interested in knowing that the Dalai Lama

    Dalai Lama STOP LYING

  • celibate? frustrated? go wank somewhere else loser

  • Dorje Shugden's practice has been around for 350 years practiced by the highest of the high lamas in Tibet.

Many reknowned erudite masters have composed many verses of praise/prayers/rituals to Him.

These days we have so many obstacles that are self created and created by 'others', this practice of Dorje Shugden eliminates them.

Over time when we rely upon Dorje Shugden, we REALLY SEE how He changes our situations for the positive to help our practice.

    It has helped me greatly!

  • Because of Dalai Lama's ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden, hundreds of monks had to leave their monasteries.

They created their own place of worship free from the ban of the Tibetan Govt in exile.

What they don't realize, is from the ban, the temple/monasteries/chapters of Dorje Shugden's lineage is springing up all over the world and getting larger than ever before.

Shar Gaden Monastery's monks are brave and courageous to start this institution up as they as Tibetans are banned.

  • THE DALAI LAMA IS GOING TO COURT!!

Indian High court in New Delhi is summoning Dalai Lama to court due to his unconstitutional ban on the ancient practice of Dorje Shugden on his own people.

In India where there are so many religions and their subsects, it is unheard of that a secular/religious leader can issue such a ban.

It has shocked the Indian psyche.

    Preliminary hearings have began.

Aljazeera news has a special report. It is posted on the youtube

  • Can you tell me how I can find more about this news? Thank you, Daniel

  • I rejoice!
