I thought this album was a serious step down from Precambrian, the previous album.
I thought the clean vocals and lyrics were extremely cheesy at points, as well as that piano ballad song in the middle of the album completely ruining the flow of the first couple songs, and for the entire album.
but, there are definitely a few strong songs I continue to go back and listen to, but very different from Precambrian where I could easily sit down and listen to the album in its entirety.
I love when people are like: this band sukz! They think they're individual opinion matters. They don't understand that bands are gonna do what they want.
As a band it isn't realistic to try to please the audience. You just can stay true to yourself and hope the people still like you... because there are so many oppinions, like here on youtube, every member as another oppinion. If I would try to follow all the youtubish perspectives I have to make three albums. One for everybody. That's just silly.
I'm glad if a band trys to fullfill their creaitve visions and if I don't like them anymore it's no ones fault. Just a question of taste.
@valeriantakashi: people should be more honest with themselves in what they're willing to like. the criticism of others can play a part in the copitulation of ones convictions about what they're truthfully and cathartically experiencing. its unfortunate, but your totally right!
@TheOceanPrecambrian Well, whatever the other thing they're doing is, it's not good. My main problem is that there's hardly any metal on this album at all.
@dujl Expand your horizons. There is a lot better stuff than metal out there. Bands that don't limit themselves to just a metal construct are much better for it.
@TheOceanPrecambrian Tsk, this is boring shit. Some silly guys trying to be arthouse while talking about evolution. It's bullshit. Their record comapny should get rid of them. This isn't even that unique musically, it's a queer mix of jazz/pop music and odd structures under a false metal label.
This is the biggest mistake these guys made. If I wanted something like this I wouldn't have listened to The Ocean in the first place.
@TheOceanPrecambrian And when you say "better", what the hell are you talking about? What's good is subjective, and I don't want any of this queerness ruining what I thought to be a good metal band.
@dujl nobody give a damn bout what you think.....experimental/metal/blahblahblah they doin' sumthin you don't like so maybe for a true fan to UNDERSTAND what they are bringin' to the table, they don't need you.
Awesome song!

Youtube should just get rid of the dislike option altogether. No need to taint the pages with negative opinions. lol taint

@dujl Well, you're a faggot for hating things that aren't metal and being close minded. Good day sir.

@TheOceanPrecambrian ok you lose all respect. You call someone a faggot and then call them "close minded" in the same sentence? Jesus, man.
