  • Learning this right now on the guitar!

  • @ThatsMyAxe ME ON BASS LOLZ

  • Eu queria ter a chance de conhecer esse homem pessoalmente...é a unica coisa que estou de Rostropovich...

  • what's the counting

  • Lol the Like bar looks like Luke Skywalker's Light Saber

  • must be the beard...

  • This isn't autotuned. It's not put together on a soundboard. Mischa sat down in a blank room with a cello and blew modern music out of the water with one bow stroke. Amazing. Flawless.

  • @seattlegrrlie Could you make your playlist public?:)

  • @BuddhistBadass That's not my playlist and it used to be public. Weird that you can't click on the link. =(

  • A few years ago, I almost played this movement as fast as him.

Today, when I try, I'm not able to play the first measures at this speed ...

  • this is one of the best movements in all the Bach Suites! I love it :)

  • He plays this with such ease. I only wish to be able to play it like this one day.

  • YES

  • He would better if he put that nice hair in a ponytail and throw some jell on it to lay it flat :)

  • He plays so fast even the camera can't keep up!

  • Wow i dig when he punch out the Suites and raping the Cello, i play some of them to and the Giga and Courante is in my account, playing them after worc in the darc winter ewenings.)

  • @kaavest win.

  • @Johnsen2012 Many thanks for enjoying it on the violin. They are cool on both instruments, best regards:)

  • Super Mega Hammer Cool :)

  • he does it without breaking a sweat

  • His hair is flying all over the place, but it always retains its shape…

  • his hands are blur o_O

  • Absolut Atemberaubend!

  • @FlameOfAnor17 warum bist du dann nicht tot? :P

  • hey jesus !!!! what the heck are you doing playing that cello ???? hehehe

  • i'm playing this on bass....pretty challenging

  • he is playing tooo fukn fast its not even pretty anymore get it together got down

  • @mythfantasylover Do you know the tempo of this piece because he is playing it with borderline perfection.

  • c'est bon! :)

  • beautiful.

  • c'est un peu trop vite

  • @TheZacozaco un peu trop vite?O___O serah?

  • He almost looks robotic in how precise a lot of his movements are. The emotion in all of the cello pieces I've seen him perform is damn near flawless.

  • wow! i like it very much. perfect voicing, clearest and beautiful sound, stylistic as it should be. wonderful!

  • I love the way his hair bobs around!

  • bliss

  • wow i played this for nysmma in the 7th grade and it was no where near this fast

  • Whoaaa! oO... Wonderful!

  • WOW.

  • nada q decir, maisky! uno de los mejores haciendo los bach!

  • today i got this bach bass book and i have transfered this song to cello using it, i am currently working on the first half. IT IS HARD:)

  • ... I have to play this song on a contest.. but holy shit this is fast.

I think I'd rather play Brahms cello sonata or something -_-

  • spining , moving, dancing ,splashing, be born, evolving, dreaming , running , creating , living ,dying all in 1.59 minutes. how incredible piece

  • is it really suppose to be that fast?

  • Yes...I think he even slows it down a bit at times.

  • не верю! смотрите запись Мстислава Ростроповича...

  • this guy is intense. amazing.

  • One of my friends played this on Euphonium, he KILLED it (in a good way). This is an amazing piece of music.

  • geniální- fascinující výpověď genia co jako by přednášel harmonii v tichém větvení neomezené fantasie. Je to geniální

  • this song makes me think i'm being chased i that i should keep running-hence the name lol awesome I wish to be this good one day

  • 我覺得羅斯托波維奇或馬友友的詮釋更棒啊。

  • This sounds like a you're running out of time and then the world ends

  • This has to be my favorite piece out of all the cello suites. It's the most fun to play too.

  • I completely agree with you. Learning to play it, though, was a hard workout.

  • totally cello shredding

  • hes playing the shit out of that cello.

  • @guitaristdf in other words, he's raping it, which is a good thing, i guess?

  • @dilzone80 Yes hehe when playing them it feels different then listen them, all this should be thrown out ,manually, in minutes and therefore the term of definating it is sometimes a bit ,exotic, :)

  • @dilzone80

Not rape, more like making incredible love to it. ;o)

  • @mzmoongazer sweet sweet love :P

  • @guitaristdf i dont see shit coming out

  • His left hand is so silent! I am playing this movement along with the Sarabande from this suite and Haydn in D for college auditions. Ugh, it's so beautiful but discourages me greatly.

  • I am not a cello player but rather play the cello's distant cousin, classical guitar. I have been spoiled by this man when it comes to cello. He is the first cello player I have listened to. There is no roughness to his playing like in other cello players. That makes this musician that much better.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful.

  • mischa y fucking amazing

  • you really can feel the power of this masterpiece, I've heard it with loud sbwfr and is incredible, try it!

  • Hey guys, I have to play this for my grade 7 cello exam and i'm really struggling with it :(

has anyone got any tips on getting this peice up to speed?

  • Try to relax your hands and wrists (if you can your entire arm, if not then just the formers), and just let go of any tension. Don't think of the notes, think of the tune of the piece, and let you guide yourself.

It may sound cryptic, but it works 8D!

  • Thanks, i'll definately try that :)

  • I am also doing this for grade 7 and by god, I need to relax alot. The tension is too intense but I was taught to play with tension so I guess I'm screwed.

  • Play with metronome! Increase the speed slowly... but most important thing that'll help you is if you keep a constant pulse.

  • hey! whats the grade 7 exam?

  • its the second hardest exam there is in the UK.

  • The best cello player

  • I wonder what Courante means... does it mean powerful emotion? Maybe courage? o__O

Regardless of the name, the music Bach has written is timeless... giving any of his pieces a simple name is merely icing on the cake compared to the greatness that is J.S. Bach.

  • It means running. In Italian it's corrente

  • Yes but still a dance, don't forget.

    In English it's Running.

  • Courante means running

  • i never know whether to interpret it as running like sprinting or running as in flowing like water...?

  • one of my favourite cellist.he is very professional and full of strong power.he is also had musicial and expressive

  • the best

  • This is better then Rostropovich and Yo-Yo-Ma.

  • This piece has so much power and emotion

  • this is beautiful. he draws long lines through the music yet cares for every note. why are people saying this is technically easy? please could they post their technically perfect versions :)

  • Uh bach is ridiculously hard musically AND technicallly. Especially once you get to the 4th,5th, and 6th suites it's insane.

  • HE OWNS. Seriously.

  • this guy is bloody amazing

  • hes really good =/

if you see the music its like 800 semitones back to back and you have to play it like THAT ^

makes you really appreciate having people to play good music for you..

  • wow fast!!!!!

  • very nice :-)

  • bach is hard to play.

maybe bach's suites has no technical problems, but to play the suite beautiful is realy hard, because it is great music with so many musical sense and feeling.

  • I'm learning this on the viola now and the fingering and notes itself aren't that hard, it's just playing them the correct way that is...heh. But this guy is pretty good.

  • It's actually not as hard as it seems - technically, bach isn't too difficult but it's tougher in a musical sense.

  • haha im playing that in an exam tomorrow i hope i do it justice

  • this bloke is my hero, i am gonna play like him one day

    (i hope)

  • I love how his hand blurs sometimes when he switches strings/positions.

  • holy @$#% that was super fast for a strings instrument

  • not really violin can play much faster

  • What are you on about?! All string instruments can play the same speed. It just takes skill to be able to play musically at this this speed. (which he does brilliantly!)

  • i meant its easier to play faster on a violin

  • wow.... its sooo gorgeous the epitome of what bach would have wanted someone to iterpret

  • *cries* That looks hard. :(

  • love this song, prefer yo-yo playing it but this is great!

  • yeh i prefer yo-yo ma playing this piece , although i wonder if his playing would sound diffrent if this guy had yo yo mas stradivarious, prob still wudnt compare with yo yo tho :P(if thats how ya spell it)

  • jeeeezuz,,, that looks like it hurts!

    good show, ol chap!
