  • I'm starting my thru hike in Feb. there is no way that I am going to do this, seems too much like torture. But, I may be hungry enough to down it when I get there.

  • Dude do you even know why they are eating a half-gallon of ice cream. They are thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. its around 2100 miles long and the hikers burn an average of 5000-6000 calories a day hiking. When you're on the trail you will eat just about anything.

  • do your research dude, If you could make it to where they are you wouldn't have lived such a sheltered life.

  • @itsmeadin Obviously you dont understand the point of what they are doing.....

  • Ha, I know Pi & Laces. Those two hiked a lot more than I did. First they were a couple days ahead, then a couple weeks, then a couple months. Finally they were finished and I was still in VA.

  • Everyone should do that about 4 times a year.Instead of holding the urges in and making themselves crave.

  • Glad to see you guys made it half way! I (Ziploch) met you folks in Connecticut where the nutty drunk guy at Mount Algo scared us off in the wee hours. Happy to report that I made it to Mt. K. Woodstock (the other fellow there) flipped and I met him south of Monson. Hope those 3000 calories took you on to Springer! (my trail log: http://ofsevit.dynalias.com:8081)

  • You guys look like you're having lots of fun. And Laces, don't kid yourself: you could eat a half-gallon of ice cream ANY day. Love, ACL

  • This made me laugh and dig out my old wooden spoon!
