  • id be scared of the guy with the sword eep

  • HA!

  • Gooddd

  • why is it always originol "london" cast, i never got that.

  • @thsma2009 This show originally premiered in London in 1999 for the live taping for the dvd, they were in London for a long time before making it to Broadway. So the original london cast means, these are the performers in the video by PBS. Over the run of the show from London to New York people were replaced.

  • @laughingstock133 AH! ok i just was never sure about that one cause anything involving broadway, stage acting, w/e you want to call it was always london cast. but thatnks, i get it now :)

  • LOL!!!

    black tuba player at 5:51

  • is blast ever coming back??

  • Get it Sabre Line!!!!

  • Malaguena is one of my all time favorite songs, no matter how it's performed. It's so sensual and exciting. I especially like Stan Kenton's version and was ecstatic to see how you and your team perform it here. Great job!!

  • that's cool.I love it

  • haha! BAND GEEKS RULE!! xDD

  • This F'n rocks. Love it!

  • One of the trumpets on the right was out of step at 1:59

  • esas malagueÑas sonando por el mundo entero. viva Malaga¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I like it very much especially with effects of the colorguards which makes the whole presentation looks great.

  • Ugh....Ben Harloff is the man.

  • I definitely agree!

  • i love this vid. we did this song in my junior year

  • fun song :)

  • Aah, I love seeing behind-the-scenes stuff like this.

I saw Blast in London, and therer were signs up saying they were recording that night. Then I went to the States on holiday, and one night in the hotel they were showing it on cable! :D

  • I remember seeing "Blast!" on tv and I was so excited. Seeing marching and on a stage with lighting, effects, and so on. It made me long for my colorguard days. The show was amazing live. I can't wait to see it again.

    Thanks for the upload!

  • thats what i call a rehersal. this guys are insane. good job

  • where was this at? Star Hall?

  • No that is too big to be our gym at Star Hall.

  • oh wow the guard is amazing. Cool beans!

  • Malaguena is like the best peice of music there is. The Jazz band edition is amazing.

  • good piece, but definitely not the best out there. not even close.

  • Heffa Its my opinion. Dont be trying to down-wit my opinion.

  • your opinion sucks.

  • and so does your ass and your damn attitude. Before you wanna attack someone's opinion get a life and do something else other than looking at youtube videos. I'm not about to fuss with you on a youtube video with your childish ass. Grow up!!! Seriously!!! Make fun all you want because when you respond back to this, I won't be saying nothing else and you'll keep on talking like a little kid that you are!

  • you're right. you're so much better than I am. How will I live with myself?

    Dx

  • Malaguena really isn't "the best piece ever made". Get over yourself kid, and please stop making my school look bad. Florida State is a great school, for real musicians at least. You'll fit in quite well with the Marching Chiefs.

  • That happened two weeks ago and you want to be a child and bring that back up. Fuckin idiot I said MY OPINION, NOT your fuckin brain. Leave me the hell alone because I wasnt even saying shit to you. You just sound dumb as hell to your part.

  • news: he's not.

he actually knows a hell of a lot more on the subject than either of us.

  • they're pretty good. ;)

  • thats their pratice run!

  • I've rehearsed at the Star of Indiana hall myself so I know that this gym is bigger than the one at the hall so where was this at?

  • good job...our high school played this for contest and got gold...only they didn't march...nice trumpet solo!(i play too)

  • Is Andy Smart the lead trumpet here? sounds like him.

  • my goodness..

    priceless production!! good work-tfp!

  • Trumpets...amazing. These guys are talented.

  • sois de lo mejorcito que he visto mis felicitaciones

    congratutation from spain

  • Y'all's some talented peeps. :D I would love to be half this good some day. I am currently in a high school band with 26...yes...26 winds. One tuba, 6 trumpets (myself included) three mellophones and one alto sax...among others...watching Blast! is an inspiration to any high school player that has any sort of interest in what they are doing...truly amazing...watching you on DVD, I was compelled to clap at the TV, knowing that you couldn't possibly hear me. It's just that good.

  • not just high school

  • I hate people who can play better running than I can standing still! Haha. Sounds great. Thank you for posting.

  • wow

what an amazing field show, both the music and the marching formations itself

  • YAY FOR THE TROMBONE!!! THEY RULE!

  • raquel, did you know a trumpet player named Carlos Villa? He was my teacher and I heard from someone else that he was in Blast

  • Its now 2007 and this is still the finest production I have ever witnessed. The CD is great, but I think it is no longer in press. Raquel, brillant! Simply brillant!!

  • what a closer. when they r all throught the theatre blaring out those E's. damn boy. (trumpets that is)

  • A damn good moment!!! :)

  • what an amazing trombonest...

  • my god yes that guy is AMAZING

  • Very nice....

  • Dang! I think I actually enjoyed the rehearsal video as much as if not more than the actual performance. Great stuff! Lots of woodshedding behind that level of performance, no doubt.

  • Hey, nice to see blast! in rehearsal mode and not on the stage.. always great :)

  • If it's not on the DVD (I don't own it at the moment, but I would definitely like to), then it's nice that someone's posted it on here! :)
