This documentary is full of the average little englander views, with facts taken completely out of context, some outrageous extrapolations, and without any solid substantiation. Would not know where to start really. A fabulous counterpoint to the enlighted teutonic euro-barbarian put forward these days. Victorians knew better ( and the staff of the british museum too ). Shame!
Nice documentary. I wonder what these brits were drinking before they had tea. I think it was just warm water, made a little brown with a bit of sand, or something else brown. Then, in the stone age, they discovered that lifting 100 ton stones is a piece of cake. So they built stone henge, and then forgot about why and how they did it. But meanwhile they had cake. But still drank warm brown water. It wasn't until Marco Polo got some tea that they finally had use for Wedgewood. Amazing indeed
OK Khan your name is a bit of a giveaway to which side you are on. If you knew the English landscape, and understood sheep dogs, you would squarely face an independent heritage equal to your own.
Does it matter who 'farmed' first? It is obvious that stone-age farming roots belong to the heritages from which they came. History is born from it's own perspective. It is obnoxious to presume our ancestors were of lesser mentality... perhaps you need to re-evalute your perspective?
@mlatchu56 It is not my fault that the Brits suffer from a lack of decensy, resulting into the state of lesser mentality you admit to. Only a completely brain washed talking monkey can cheer for the psychopaths and mass murderers you call royalty.
Perhaps you need to re- evaluate your perspective. Because your perspective is only in favour of the criminal psychopaths that steal your money and your freedom and care neither about you nor your country. They just parasite on it.
Amusing documentary - thank you for uploading! Still, the word barbarian (which, btw, is a greek word and not a roman one) can never be understood in its true meaning and essence by barbarians...;)
@mariuslupercus absolutely right!! the word "barbarian" is greek and derives from the words...bar bar, something that ancient Greeks used, in order to show that some languages didn't sound good to them, there was no beauty in them!! like today's...bla bla bla, which means meaningless speaking!!
@MillieFinn Obviously that is certainly the case, however, where is the revelation...it's just another angle or take on our history with another wanna be tv presenter wearing Cambridge pumps...I didn't watch more than a 1 minute and could see where this was going....love!
@imd8GTr7 Yes : you make a very good point: the program is produced and directed by Timothy Cope stake a freelance television history film maker: most of these historical journey type entertainments, are tendentious presentations of well worn academic knowledge targeted at the non expert with the "revelation" aspect added for stimulating effect :-)

This documentary strikes me as simple British chest-beating. I'm of British and German descent, but the whole theme behind this strikes be as poor.

i really do not except his premise, rome brought Britain a civilization of extraordinary sophistication and refinement.
It's hard to over estimate the technological differences between
rome and northern Europe. I good equivalent would be if we were all invaded by UFO's bringing with them laser guns and faster-than-light travel.

Exactly, and written by a true 'Barbarian'! and nor can the "true meaning and essence" be understood by any invading crusaders like BMW cars!
Thanks for giving credence to the validity of this "Brilliant" masterpeice.

Dogs are not descendants of wolves. New research indicates that modern dogs are much more likely to be descended from foxes.

Ouch!! Roman blasphemy... exactly the point Britain B.C is making if you had got past the first minute in your 'Roman' pumps!
The sources are irrefutable, the logic solid, and the results astounding.
You won't be reading traditional 'Pre-Roman' Britain as taught anymore (ask a Cambridge English history tutor)
An outstanding documentary with a voice we can understand 5,000 years later... Superb!!!
