@terry3218 absolutely! i have it since 2008, and after 4 years it still kicks ass. there is no need to overclock, mw3 runs on ultra settings/fullHD :D there are much newer products from intel now, but you won't go wrong with this one neither :)
@german199denuevo thanks for replying, so what temperature should i keep the cpu under? and how do i check the temperature and how to test it under heavy load and idle?
tnx for go0d Video , i have intel core 2 quad q6600 and a normal fan and heatsink , in the box of cpu , should i frist change fan and heatsink then overclock ? or i can overclock whit current normal fan and heatsink ? .
@HesamSh1300 Very high ºC, you should need better ventilation on your chase, because i have it to 3.0 and i have 45ºC. If still on 60ºC~ change it to 2.4.
@TheAirwaver supposedly if you set to 333 it should be 3.0 Ghz (3000 mhz / 9 multiplier), i don't know why the corespeed changes, try to put all manually, not automatic ( i mean the multiplier, put it to 9).
@german199denuevo Thank you 4 you're quick answer! I changed that in the bios but cpu-z says the multiplier goes from 9 to 6 and back, is that normal?
@TheAirwaver nope, you must set it to 9 :), in BIOS you must on CPU RATIO SETTING (or similiar) write the numer (9), or it will go automatic ( i had that problem but setting 9 fixes all)
@Xay0rIsBack Thx 4 reply, it was already told to me by a friend. I keep it enabled so it won't be fully loaded al the time. It's al clear to me, thx 4 al the reply's guys!!
@Iuliskaya that's because the CPU has speed step on. it reduces the cpu speed when ur not putting load on it.
download CPU-Z run it.. it will show you 2.4ghz. but open a random windows and move it around the screen and watch it go up to 3ghz. =) or you can run a game in windows mode and also watch cpu-z go up to 3ghz :)
geile sache hab den selben cpu und hab mich nachdem ich mein mainboard und vorher mein netzteil geschrottet hatte nicht mehr ins bios rein getraut versuche es jetzt aber wieder :P
@german199denuevo Thanks german, however I was unable to find such option, it seems my motherboard won't display it, here I posted some screenshots, maybe you have a clue about it:
uhm i have some problems, my multiplier is jumping 9 to 6 and 9 to 6 all the time and i cant find the clocking thing that i shall change from auto to manuall.
Safe: It depends your motherboard, the trick is proving 2.5ghz, 2.6ghz, and watch the max all you can get, if you get more than you can't , the motherboard will reset, ;), no problem then :P
@german199denuevo i want to overclock my pc from 2.8Ghz to 3.0 and i think i don't know for sure but i think i have a DDR2 4GB ram you think i can do it??
btw if i like overclock it like that and i get the blue screen my cpu wont blow up or anything right? XD cause its like the first time im gonna try to overclock so i dont really know shit XD
Hey Dude.. I OC'd mine last night to 2.7Ghz to start and I was getting about that temp at idle. After some hard work playing FSX I got up to about 45. Still pretty cool temp for hard core use. I want to bump it to 3.0 now and try it. Do you have stock cooling? I may need to get a better cooler if I go any higher.
I think my case is Ok to keep as is because it is a very nice case with numerous fans in it. It's a Thermaltake Tsunami and it seems to be pretty efficient at cooling. I do, however, need to check my graphics GPU temps just in case tho :)
Do you plan to try to overclock higher than 3.0Ghz at some point? If you get 35C now you could go higher I imagine. Also, be careful opening the case. Some times the cooling is worse when it's open because the air doesn't get channeled through.

@TheAirwaver
Disable SpeedStep.
SpeedStep puts your multiplier down to 6 when the CPU isn't being used fully.
Enable it to save power, disable it to keep your CPU at full clock 24/7.

Hola Amigo,
I think my case is Ok to keep as is because it is a very nice case with numerous fans in it. It's a Thermaltake Tsunami and it seems to be pretty efficient at cooling. I do, however, need to check my graphics GPU temps just in case tho :)

I never tried to overclock more than 3.0 Ghz xD,
i think if i overclock to 3.5 the ºC will icrease a lot. That's the reason, but if you have got a lot of fans , you can try to overclock it to 4.0 ^^
