@Xulpine Your loss. I actually have a fairly awesome build going with ALL the weapon skills (and unarmed), taking advantage of all of the cooldown area attacks I get access to. It's a pretty fun build. Of course, I took dual wielding as well, but that was just for the axe critical bonus.

played this down to level 9, died, cursed, went back to ADOM lol. Nice little game, if only adom and angband could get a graphical overhaul like this, or dwarf fort with a fleshed out adventure mode -dreams-

I got this game, enjoyed it at first but then I noticed some big flaws in it. The floors are way too big and take forever to explore. The game is way too slow and repetitive. It has potential, but falls short of what it's trying to achieve... everyone should try Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup instead, now that's a very very good roguelike. The UI in this game is bad IMO.

Agree with others you'll ever only need one weapon skill as you upgrade it alot through anvils and crafting, you'll find alot more of that type as several shops per level have artifacts of your type..

Apart from that, excellent game. alot of humor, and the full game is ALOT better than the beta version.. now... if only it had the full zangband implemented..hmmm :)

Well, there are a lot of other skills, both passive and active. So taking multiple weapon skills can help, but..

1) weapon skills are wasted when wielding different weapon types

2)you can always take smithing to make/upgrade your weapon of choice

Kind of disappointed it's going for the comedy thing, since the game itself looks like it would have been a ton of fun. I just never find "funny" games funny and prefer serious games. When everything is just one big joke I can never get serious or care about the game. It's some weird disconnect.

@sjheiss I think it's easier for an Indie dev' to make a satirical game than it is to make one which has a serious storyline with developing characters and the like. I also think that a lot of them want to concentrate on nailing fun gameplay first and then attempt good storytelling later as more people play games for gameplay than they do to hear a good tale (I personally like both. I can play games with terrible gameplay if the story is worth it).

Someone may have said this, but the Lukefisk "slowly" restores HP, which means it does it over time. So you'll get HP regeneration for a while. Though perhaps you know that now.
