  • 7 people have their own piano covers of "Teardrop" posted on Youtube.

  • beautiful but, no groove no jazz...

  • I like it!!

  • Words can't describe, at least not well enough.

  • Absolutely stunning.

  • I'll take a cold shower

  • hey brad DO YOU WORK OUT?

  • very messy??? you must be ooff your head son this is magical. Brad can express himself like no other possible the guy's on a different level i think he might be an alien

  • mi...ia!!!

  • "Grateful dead" t shirt :)

  • Flawless until 2:35. Why do some jazz players insist on screwing up?

  • @ambphysis I believe that is the most brilliant part... I even took those ideas to see how they can be expressed through the guitar as an instrument.

    Matter of taste i guess...

  • @ambphysis he doesn't screw up once. There is just a lot of dissonance. It's a stylistic choice.

  • @TallManUTube Yeah, like those bugs that are not bugs, but "features", if you know what I mean...

  • Is Brad Mehldau the coolest person on the planet?

I think this video makes the answer fairly obvious

  • @gvantsabibo are you sarcastic or retarded?

  • Wow...... that was pretty amazing!

  • yesterday I have been to his concert! when he started playing THIS my heart started beating I think 100 times a minute! now I am the happiest person in the world!!! thanks Brad!

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Seanklang I'm sorry, what!?! Brad has been clean for many years now.

  • @Lassesteff

I stand corrected. And apologise. Dumb comment.

  • @Seanklang U mean drunk with music ? :P :D

  • @Kabla21

Yes, I'll go with that. Who am I to say - having been a drunk in both respects. Just not his best performance is all Kabla 21 - check out the art of trio albums if you hav'nt already. :J :Ml

  • @Seanklang i'll agree with you. Very messy performance : covering Massive Attack is not enough o make it a great performance.

  • @guezou Idiot, where's the mess? This is flawless. Before you say the minor 2nd clashes, they're entirely deliberate.

  • @Seanklang fail

    Brad Mehldau FTW!

  • @drebubbles Yup - if one can't say something good, should say nothing at all. Taken my own advice.

  • Is this the new "Koln concert"?

  • OMG!

  • Does he have two separate brains for his both hands? Stunning!

  • Stunning!

  • G R E A T ! ! ! !

  • does anybody knows how to get this video?

  • @flunger

Try "unplug" an application for the firefox browser

  • Woah ! I love this guy ... best moment ever 2:20 => 2:31

  • Pianos were developed just for such amazing sounds :) This is art !

  • Hehe. His shirt reminds me of something House would wear.

  • I JUST CRIED AT THE POWER OF MUSIC. his face tells everything that needs to be told about this.

  • uuhhh how about hitting the right tones?

  • @netchecker3 u don't get it

  • Beautiful

  • I love you (lol)

  • The first time I saw this I was awestruck by the music, the second time I couldn't knock the feeling that he looks like Hugh Laurie as House from the neck down, every additional time is just bliss :)

  • @hipsterpictures Know what you mean, and kind of suitable since the original is the theme tune!

  • I am so happy to see so many people at a jazzconcert! Attetion to jazz music and music in general is very needed and a rare sight these days.

  • couldnt stop myself from beatboxing at the start lol

  • Thanks for posting this, really

  • I can´t help myself, but this tunes reminds me of Jarrett´s "Köln Concert"..

  • love the grateful dead t shirt!

  • beautiful......

  • piano sound is amazing!

    great piano and pianist!

  • "F'ing ridiculous" is a compliment, just as Miles Davis called players he liked MF'ers.

  • wish he covered Cymbaline from Pink Floyd....

  • Shit, the guy's getting old...

  • esplendido Brad:) como de costumbre:)

  • awesome

  • Brad is fucking ridiculous but I'm personally getting a little tired with hearing this kind of thing from him

  • @TehWinnerz Then don't hear him. But let us -the ones who actually know about jazz- enjoy it.

  • @daves9377 what a terrible reply. You're assuming that I don't know about jazz because I made an opinion on Brad? What an absolutely lame thing to say.

  • @TehWinnerz Whoever says such things on such a great, avantgarde, openmind, classic trained, extremly sensible, virtuoso, and by now jazz legend, musician is "fucking ridiculous", at least, to me.

  • @daves9377 Brad is one of my very favourite musicians of all time. He's an unbelievable pianist and improviser. All I was saying that his outro on this performance sounds very similar to a lot of other outros that he's done and I'm not so excited by it anymore. Sorry that it upset you so much.

  • @TehWinnerz Peace. Sorry if I said something that upset you too.

  • @TehWinnerz Really? So beautiful, simple melodies handled by a master in new and unprecedented ways are tiresome? What you have him do instead?

  • @rauldukeIII sorry - should have specified - I meant his outro. Just sounds very similar to a lot of his solo piano outros on various solo/trio albums. I should say again that I think Brad is absolutely amazing...and this is the only thing that I can think of that I don't like so much myself...

  • @TehWinnerz ya, remember the exit music days?

  • So beautiful, showing that simple songs are the most difficult, he plays it so perfectly. I love Highway Rider, and I also am a big fan of Vijay Iyer, a different kind of pianist. Great young jazz artists

  • An amazing performer....that thing is a piano ?...I don't know....

  • WOW!

    As always...

  • Brad never stops amazing me.... truly beautiful.
