  • Great fucking vocal. Sounds almost processed, but that's what he really sounded like. I miss this kind of band honesty. Where are the Mark slaughters of this generation? Dub-stepping their arses into drug-dabbling no doubt.

  • LOL. It's all good. This is an awesome and long gone acoustic version. Enjoy.

    Life moves fast.

  • Mark kicks fucken ass--even at his age now--maybe less so but remains as one of my alltime favourites........

  • Man, these comments are a fucking bummer. :(

  • good tune great version! I remember when it was new. Thing is, they were left behind cause they only had one hit song. I cant remember any other popular slaughter song.

  • @Redchar2010

LOL. You're young. The only thing you'll remember is Bieber.

    One song? Please.

  • @OgieOglethorp1 Young? Just because there is a 2010 by my name doesnt mean that is the year I was born. I am 38 and never listened to bieber in my life. GAWD what a fool.

  • This was a cool song in 1990 but it takes on a deeper meaning after i buried the love of my life in 1997 i wll be reunited with you again brandy i love you forever and always

  • I haven't heard too many other artists that can reach this register of vocals and sound good. Plant being of them....never-the-less AWESOME!

  • Jun Miyaoka joined the Angels on his Surf board on 08/2008 miss ya bro much love , - Chris

  • So many of my loved ones-- gone. Mom, Dad, Uncles, Aunts and my brother. One day I will join them.

  • Taryn C. Amos 22 yrs old 6/2/11 Gone to Soon Forever in my Heart. I love you my sweet niece and miss you always.

  • The only one I know who still has this range after all the years is Randy Jackson of Zebra

  • @MrLink1971 I recently heard something a about an allstars band he participates in, and he sounded fine to me. But that was only a short excerpt

  • @MrLink1971 .....I agree link. I give him credit for still trying. But I think he needs to try and stop singing like he used to. If he toned everything down a few octaves he would sound allot better

  • you can hear the effects on the vocals - even on this. Sounds like a flanger and an echoplex. I love this song though.

  • @dhjet2000 I hear reverb and maybe slight delay.

  • Slaughter deserves there spot with the big 80's hair bands in my book and for all you fans dont leave out Phantom Rider by Tora Tora never hear about that song.

  • Needed a Taylor or a Martin for the rythim imo.

  • Slaughter at Hard Rcok Tampa 2marro .Hell Ya.Poker and Slaughter!

  • ive listened to nearly every generation of rockmusic, being a teenager in the mid seventy's and the hard british rockers are the best ive ever heard, and i give everything at least one listen!!!!!!

  • Definately need more real music like this on radio stations again, I miss cruising around listening to awesome music!!!!

  • Was at many a kegger when this song came out. Goodtimes! anyone with me?

  • Man, this is good stuff! I love Marks voice!

  • So in love. Wish I was born in the 80s!

  • JAMES HETFIELD would make fun of MARK SLAUGHTER til his dying day but he could NEVER EVER come remotely close to hitting such a good live vocal to save his life like this guy can;)!!

  • que voz de éste clásico

  • chills...

  • @ibanezzer1...don't look now, but I think he just did.

  • Wow is so right !!! Vocals of Mark are so much better than anything you hear now and even go to say a better voice than Bach from Skid Row ...

  • @Spellerin01 He could sing, but I can't agree that he could outsing Sebastian Bach. It ain't happening.

  • Un Frekin Believable!!!!!!!!! No one has lungs like this anymore>

  • This song is pretty demanding singingwise! Watch 4:30 and a couple of notes...

  • @eRnsthendrixon That was awesome, I knew he had wicked range, but those notes he hit were ridiculous!

  • @LUckybones25 well marry him

  • How come this mediocre band got one of the BEST BALLADS EVER? The tears in my eyes are a living proof!

  • Johnny Depp!

  • 11 people are idiots or fkn deaf....

  • Awesome group, too bad his voice is fucked now because of singing like this.

  • @MrDetnator agreed his voice blows now compared to this but its not because of singing like this, singing high no matter how high dont ruin your voice, drinking, smoking, and not taking care of your vocal instrument will however, Mark is not so old that he shouldnt be able to still kick ass, but unfortunately a lot of rock vocalists lose it from just having no concept of taking care of their vocals, even learning to do proper warmups before shows and getting plenty of sleep helps a ton

  • @Heresthegoods1 that and since he is screaming it doesnt help much (falsetto/headvoice idk what the difference is)

  • @Heresthegoods1

It's called being young. Once it's gone, it's gone. Who's next?

    Not us.

  • great band ever .

  • The Biggest joke of the entire history of hair band metal was when Vinnie Vincent fired slaughter from the Vinnie Vincent Invasion.Poison blows,Bon Jovi Blows,Cinderella blew some not too much. LoL Blow Metal!!! SLAUGHTER WILL FOREVER KICK ASS!!!!

  • @JerecDarkheart Bon Jovi kicked ass.

  • these guys are flippin dope!

  • Classic Preservation of a very well written song coming from a time in our lives we can all look back and think, What a great time in my life!" So many memories, great to bad, but i'd ove to go back and taste them one more time. Thanks for the Smiles.

  • why didn't mark write songs like this with vinnie vincent invasion, fuuuuck.

  • Holy shit I didn't know this guy could sing like THIS. wow.

  • Lost my BEST FRIEND 10 years ago. My brother, I will NEVER FORGET YOU. I will never forget our time! The wound never heals, and time is a curse without you. I miss you bro

  • love you guys ......please come to Ft. Lauderdale. You can stay at our house.

  • Just saw Slaughter at Sunset Station in Henderson. They STILL rock and Mark Slaughter sounds great! He was very emotional when he sang this that night. He played the opening chords & we were close enough to see tears welling in his eyes. He was visibly moved just by those few notes. He explained that his dad had recently passed & had encouraged him to pursue his dreams of rock 'n roll stardom Dedicated it to his pop.. Hell, he had us crying too & we sang it for him when he couldn't.

  • @kevette Tomorrow night in Lewiston, ID and my wife doesn't want to go...CRAP...I might have to go solo!!!

  • 4:30 omfg how did he do that

  • talk about freaking vocal range

  • Holy....let me tuck those bangs behind your left ear and see your face...cuz your voice transcends all imagination....heaven awaits all of our hearts when you sing this song..

  • SLAUGHTER MI PRIMER BANDA EN EL MUNDO DEL METAL Y ESTA CANCION ES UNA JOYA

  • Damn, I did not think this song would work "au naturel", but that is freakin' awesome!

  • Damn, I did not think this song would work "au naturel", but that is freakin' awesome!

  • so sick of just the singers they were a band and even mark slaughter said dana strum tim kelly and blias ellias funky drumming is what made slaughter sound so good!!!

  • awsom love u guys

  • that singing looks too easy for him. fucker.

  • Goddamn that dude can sing!!!

  • AWESOME!!! love this vid

  • what performance is this vid of?

  • @Dixierider24 WINGER & SLAUGTHER UNPLUGGED MTV =D

  • Im so glad this band was always marginal and forgettable.

  • Mega gay!

  • @elitemathlete Are you kidding me? this fucker can sing. Better than your slipknot head banging shit. This is real rock.

  • @CarltonPudgeFisk27 Don't even acknowledge dumbass, childish losers like that. He's worth no more than being completely ignored.

  • does anyone know if Slaughter has any live video performances?

    Like full concert footages...

  • I can sing just like that...until someone can hear me

  • Band nowa days cant sing live, they all have that voice distortion shit thing going on. Todays bands, rock, rap and hip hop all make 1 or 2 albums with 1 or 2 big hits, they make their money and become useless hasbens's only a select few make it after 5 years. 80's bands can still tour and sell out arena's.

  • This is the most awesome live performance I've ever seen. Mark Slaughter is so beautiful.

  • @FrostbiteBaby Mark is beyond beautiful :)

  • Tune itself almost reminds me of Nazareth or of some Southern Rock band. Maybe that's why it's not airplayed as much, it's kind of '70's crossover in style?

Seems like a lot of singers with a strong-sounding falsetto range in their early years (Axl Rose, Robert Plant) lean on that part of their vocal range pretty heavily and then it is the first to weaken.

Metal singers like Dio and Dickinson who were always singing in natural full voice range maintain their voice into their '50s and '60s.

this person is obviously disturbed and has mental issues

  • greatest song ever! man, i love 80's music. :D

  • hhhhhot!!! :0

  • he's hot:) his voice is amazing, so is the song :)

  • he is so hot!

  • i've met these dudes a number of times. some of the coolest ppl i've ever met!!!!!!!

  • wow, i thought this song would suck ass if sung live, but that dude is a singer

  • @coldbluerain Yeah, I have to agree with hefra344, Madonna can sing! And she is a stellar performer! Just watch the MVA Express Yourself live! There isn't a female singer today that can even come close to her talent and ability.

  • Beautiful voice

  • OMG!

  • OMGOSH i've just found this acoustic version, i've always loved this song, but this is just WOW.......

  • Fucking awesome vocal!!!

  • i will get to see them along with Kix Tomorrow night at the HardRock Casino in Biloxi Mississippi...I grew up listening to them and i still love this band so much

  • Kick that ass Mark Slaughter. I saw your first opening in Lubbock for Poison. It was the shit.

  • Science has proven that if an individual has musical talent, it will stay lock inside the soul unless the hair is grown long.

  • @rumplestiffskin no jeff buckley had short hair so did maynard, thom yorke, and mike patton

  • @rumplestiffskin your a retard!!!! what a waste of time and space you are! you wouldnt know talent if it set on your face you half wit!

  • @chaznewby1 Settle down, breathe slowly and gear down big-rig.Now listen. Yer MOM knows talent.

  • @rumplestiffskin why dont you shove your head up your ass and see if it fits! Oh ya that's right it's already up your ass! LMFAO!

  • @chaznewby1 Yer Mom!

  • @coldbluerain what do u mean madonna is a huge star she was able to cut it

  • nick jonas looks like him which is kinda weird

  • @MauroRosati well i gues ur kinda right cuz rob halford has kept his voice the same for like ever

  • @iamskilled5 no halfird loat his voice too

  • @hefra344 nah bro halford still has his voice haha my dad saw him in concert like 2 years ago and he said his voice was like the same

  • @iamskilled5 he has the same sound but not quite the same ability because his live singing now is not quite what it was 25 to 30 years ago

  • @hefra344 yeah probobly i havnt seen him live yet but thats true most peoples voices have gone out but his has prolly just died down a lil bit

  • @iamskilled5 happens with age

  • @MauroRosati yeah but the only problem is that with his screaming comes consequence because now his vocal chords arent worth anything sadly :'( i almost cried watching one of his new live videos

  • as a vocalist, there is no better at their craft as mark!!! many cartoon voices he has done but no one can deliver that song as he can!!!

  • I love this song .. when my mom died I played this for her

  • Mark fuc*kn slaughters voice is awesome....... hes a GOD like Mike matijevic - STEELHEART.......... and Steve Whiteman of KIX...... Screaming ROCK Gods.......ohh God im blown away...

  • @bodizone1 wtf?

  • @bodizone1 i dont know what te hell u just said but get your ghetto ass out of here

  • THIS GOES OUT TO RON HAYEN HE WAS CALLED HOME AFTER A LONG ILLNESS!!! LOVE YOU RON AND YOU ARE MISSED BY ALL!!!! LOVE YA DONNA

  • WOW

  • Did anyone realize that in this live version they play half note HIGHER than the studio version? What a monster he is? usually band plays half note lower for live... but not for Mark...

  • @MauroRosati But it is "fall from the sky"... though train is essential... Not every trained man can do that...

  • This song and Mark Slaughter are amazing!!! Don't freak out everyone, but Nick Jonas looks so much like him, it's kinda' freaky. It's OK, I'm just saying they are both good-looking : )

  • The song is simply awesome. And the acoustic version proves it. One of the best hard rock ballads ever. Makes Gene and Paul envious!

  • My kids already know that they are to play this song at my funeral. Well the acoustic studio version.

  • Esta banda ha sido increible, tuvieron exito pero nunca el que se merecian.

  • Damn... I wish I had 1/8 of his voice...

  • To all the pro's saying it's falsetto, I'm pleased to say you're wrong.

He's got a high, tilted larynx and a lot of twang. The twang is why it's so bright and piercing. His highest stuff might be belted, I'm not sure.

The bit at 0:35 is when he adds more twang, hence more bright and piercing.

  • What a great band.... I saw them in the early 90s and seeing this brings back great memories.

  • dudes got some wicked pipes.... rockin it!

  • genius.

  • My father went to heaven the same year this song was recorded....always reminds me where he is and putts a smile on my face...:]

  • DAMN WHY CAN'T I SING LIKE THAT!!

  • is Mark singing falseto? or can he really sing that high?

  • @lespaulman1 Falsetto

  • @slickshot61 he has a powerful falsetto

  • @lespaulman1

    0:34

thats when he goes from head voice to falsetto

    awesome.

  • Amazing voice, but hard on the ears I think.

  • This is and will always be the best high octive C I hear . Rock on Mark! love Renee

  • Wow.....

  • I almost forgot how incredible Mark Slaughters voice was, have not heard this in a while

  • Crazy voice... Is he human? I mean did Homo sapiens voice like him???

  • what happened to them

  • @mills7584 Mark got cancer, the first of their guitarists died in an auto accident, and they just kind of broke apart after "The Wild Life." He joined scrap metal now as backup vocals and kick-ass guitarist. Check them out. The cancer spread to his throat, and permanently affected his singing. It's sad.

  • @slickshot61 your dead fucking wrong about him not being able to sing!!! just saw him w/slaughter 2 mths ago at rockin america in OKC so get you story right douchebag! Mark sounded fucking incredible and sang all the lead vocals you half wit!

  • @slickshot61 where did you read that he got cancer?

  • @VBackseatRomeoV His nodes in this throat blistered, or something to that degree and he had to have surgery to fix it, which caused him to not be able to sing with his signature voice.

  • Great great voice.

    Much props!

  • 8 people must have been rockin too hard and hit the wrong button

  • Haters get on your jobs...

  • That mother fucker can sing

  • That was awesome! Hes got an incredible voice, its like clean distortion.

  • TEMAZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • The drummer shirt sucks How lame can you be? Guitarists rule.

  • @Rckrgrl73 I believe it is meant to be ironic

  • @Rckrgrl73 ...I think he was being facetious

  • I love this band. Why? Because the vocalist can maintain his falsetto. He doesn't need an auto-tune or any of that stuff. It's incredible, and even when they're live - it sounds as exactly how it does on the record.

Underrated vocalist, even 'till today. He deserves so much recognition.

  • @Satoshikuun i love your attention to detail finally someone knows their music!

  • @Satoshikuun not falsetto head voice his falsetto B5s are a lot more more

  • @Satoshikuun True, and it pisses me off that all of the great hair bands of the past are being played on classic rock, except for Slaughter. They play Warrant, Poison, Bon Jovi, G&R, Cinderella.....But no Slaughter. Fly to the Angels is a CLASSIC!

  • @spirittammyk agreed...why no Slaughter????

  • @spirittammyk and most of the others, poison, g&r, bon jovi are way over played to

  • @flecur08 Or, they plays songs that were not their best either. They always play Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer or Shot through the Heart, but personally, I thought Blaze of Glory's was his best work. Same with Poison, always play Nothing but a Good Time, and Every Rose has it's Thorn, but I always loved their Something to Believe In.

  • @spirittammyk i wonder if they think the songs are actually going to get better, cause i usually turn them when they come on the radio because i have heard them so many times it makes my ears bleed.

  • @flecur08 Hahaha. Funny you say that. Long time ago, if I heard Madonna's Vogue or Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation, I would turn it off because it was way over played. Now if I happen to catch them, I turn the music full blast because now I recognize the gold that they are.

  • @spirittammyk funny thing is, i'll probably do the same thing to.

  • @spirittammyk guns n roses and maybe bon jovi isnt a hair band but more of a true classic rock band the rest u mention especially slaughter are true hair bands that died when nirvana came in and only true hard rock survived like GNR and metallica who selled out stadiums till this day and the others so called hair bands died

  • @TheKalen486 But what about Poison, Warrant, Def Leopard, Cinderella, Twisted Sister, Steelheart, Skid Row. I hear these people on the radio all of the time. It makes no sense that Slaughter is excluded!

  • @TheKalen486 the hair bands arn't really dead bands like motley crue and ratt still sell out
